The clerk then pulled out a board with a large crystal half ball in the center, and six smaller crystal half circles around the larger one. "What is this?" asked Ara, "This is the magical aptitude testing array, you place your hand on the large crystal in the center and pour your mana into the array, once you do one or more crystals will light up, depending on the number of crystals and the intensity of the light is how we gauge your magical aptitude, if you have magical aptitude you are automatically qualified to be in the association. If you have aptitude in one or more magical elements the association will offer free educational services and materials for up to rank three spells" replied the clerk. Ara placed her hand on the central crystal and poured mana into it. When Ara poured her mana into the array the top three crystals lit up, the upper left crystal lit a dim green light, the top crystal shone a slightly brighter white light and the top right crystal lit a dim orange light. "This is rare, you have a lowe aptitude in air and fire elements and a moderate aptitude in light magic, welcome to the association Adventurer Ara, you can access up to tier one air and fire magic learning resources and tier two light magic, after we finish your registration I will show you the library and introduce you to instructors for the three elements you have shown aptitude in, okay let's test the runt before continuing" the clerk said. When he placed his hand on the large crystal five out of six smaller crystals lit up with the same dim tone, the bottom crystal had slightly darkened. "What in the world?! Hang on I need to call the Administrator down" said the clerk as she proceeded to walk around the counter and jog up the stairs before knocking on the door to the Administrator's office. "What is it?" asked a soft voice from the other side of the door. "Someone just tested and showed aptitude in all six elements" replied the clerk and the door immediately opened revealing an effeminate man of indeterminate age. The man had a slightly blue tint to his otherwise albino white skin and hair, silver eyes and long wide ear tips sticking out of his hair, somewhat looking like a leaf, he was a moon elf; he was wearing a long blue robe, black dress shoes and a pendant of a crescent moon around his neck. "Where is this person" asked the Administrator. "He is at the registration desk, I asked him to wait there" replied the clerk as the two made their way to the registration desk. While they brother were waiting patiently for the clerk to return with the Administrator, the boy asked Ara "What was that about?" "I don't know" Ara replied as the clerk and administrator arrived. "Which one was it that you wanted to show me" asked the Administrator. "The boy but I still need to finish the registration with Ara, they arrived together so I tested them together" said the clerk. "Okay, but I want to see his results for myself" the Administrator stated. Then the Administrator asked the boy "Please take the test again, and tell me what is your name." Ara then said "Forgive my rudeness Mr. Administrator Sir, but my brother doesn't have a name, our parents died shortly after his birth and hadn't given him one yet." "It's okay just for future reference please don't call me sir, I am no knight, I am a Grand Magus, if you must use honorifics then please address me as such." Then the boy placed his hand back on the large crystal and had the same results, the lower left crystal dimly lit blue, the upper left crystal dimly shone green, the top crystal lit with a dim white, the upper right crystal had a dim orange light, the lower right crystal lit dim brown and the bottom crystal had slightly darkened. "This is truly unique, I've never heard of a magic user having aptitude in all six elements before. How old are you" asked the Administrator. "I am eleven years old yesterday" replied the boy. "Only eleven? then you are too young to be an Adventurer, not to mention how under fed you are, but we could give you a temporary membership until you turn twelve, that would include room and board, learning resources up to level one spells in all elements, and you could join an Adventurer Party as a porter, meaning you would carry their gear and loot earning some rewards as well" said the Administrator. "Could we stay together" asked Ara. "I will make the arrangements; please finish your registration with the clerk first" the Administrator replied. "Only a few questions and we will be done, I can finish both registrations at the same time and then you will get your badges" said the clerk. "First question, what is your race?" asked the clerk. "Half elf half human" Ara replied. "Great, so human half elf, next how old are you?" asked the clerk; "I am sixteen and my brother is eleven" replied Ara. "Okay, now what weapons are you going to be using" asked the clerk, "bow and dagger for me and I don't know about my brother" replied Ara "I want to learn to use a short sword" the boy replied. "Okay, that is it, you can follow me to the training ground and we will test your weapon proficiency" said the clerk leading them behind the desk and down behind the other desks to the far end of the building to a single door, "The courtyard is right this way" she said opening the door for them. "The archery range is located to the left, melee ring is to the right, and pugilist ring is center, after your initial assessment the trainers will report the results to me and I will get your badges" said the clerk. As Ara walked to the archery range the boy went to the melee ring. When he arrived at the melee ring he noticed a wooden fence forming a circle with a gate at both front and back and weapon racks on either side. There was a muscular dwarf man wearing steel plate-mail armour, he was even wearing a steel plate helm, brandishing a steel short-sword in his right hand and had a rectangular steel shield I'm his left. "Hey boy, are you hear to spar?" Shouted the dwarf; "I'm not sure sir, I was told to come here to be evaluated in short-sword, I never held one before though" replied the boy. The dwarf shouted "Then come in here and let old Trein teach you somethin' " "Yes of course, Sir Trein" the boy replied before entering the gate.
