I was supposed to be The Gamer but the author forgot it midway.

Death, such an arbitrary concept. What could it be? I wonder? Is it the death of the body or the death of the soul? "Sigh~..., Even after death, I cannot understand it." { Ding! Congratulations! Murphy had your back.

The whole hall was filled with silence.

No one said anything, just silently stared at Masato and Unohana.

Both of them stood with their swords in their hands, staring at each other.

This fight was pure swordsmanship, so Masato was not going to use any other of his skills except those related to senses.

<<Observation Haki>>, <<God's Sight>>, and <<Knigth's Startegy>> - there were the only skills he was going to use in this battle.

The same was with Unohana, as she would not use Kido nor her Bankai. Only her sword and she would be fighting.

Time stretched but no one made a move. They just silently stood at their place, as if frozen still.

"Why are they not making a move?" Rangiku asked, confused.

"... the fight has already started." Soifon answered as she seriously looked at Masato and Unohana, "Currently they are using their spiritual energy to pressure each other."

Rangiku looked worriedly at Masato and silently watched the battle.

Finally, after what looked like an eternity due to silence and oppressive aura, Masato made his move first.

He took a step and appeared in front of Unohana, who didn't seem to be surprised and slashed vertically upward.

There was no profanity in his slash nor any beauty, just a simple slash. The only thing that represented this slash would be the intense bloodlust lingering on it.

Obviously, this slash was meant to kill someone.

But before the slash even made half of its trajectory, Unohana raised her right foot and slammed it at his wrist, stopping the slash in its way.

After stopping the slash, she raised her own sword and brought it down at a great speed. The wind howls from the friction produced between the sword and air.

Seeing the slash coming down, Masato didn't step back instead he further his advance, closing the distance between himself and Unohana to zero, making the slash impossible to reach him.

His other hand moved as he punched towards her stomach and Unohana deflected using her free hand.

Boom* A loud sound resounded as Unohana took five, six steps backward. Her hand that stopped his punch trembled.

It couldn't be helped. After all, Masato's STR has long left the peak of Shinigami. He was sure that as long as it is not transcendent, no one should be able to match him in strength alone.

Unohana looked at her hand before a grin took over her face. She looked at Masato and, without saying anything, launched herself towards him.

Masato also didn't stop and <<Skip>> the distance between him and her.

Clang* Clang* Clang*

The sound of sword clashing soon filled the whole area with Masato and Unohana as its center.

Their hands moved in a blurry fashion with their swords colliding with each other, producing sparks.

No one stepped back nor retreated, even if the slash reached their bodies and cut it open, no one dodged it.

The blood spilled from their wounds one after another.

But as soon as the wound was created, it would heal right away.

Unohana was a specialist in healing, so it would be pretty much impossible to give her a permanent wound.

While Masato was The Gamer with an immortal body. No kind of scar was left on his body.

Seeing such a fight, both Soifon and Rangiku were not only afraid but astonished.

They could understand why Unohana was able to heal, but why Masato was able to heal was beyond their understanding.

What made them even more afraid was their way of fighting. It looked like two beasts were fighting to kill each other, and not two Shinigamis.

"It feels like watching Zaraki fighting. Such a distasteful way of fighting." Soifon said while watching the battle as blood spilled one after another.

"... are they really dueling? It feels like they want to kill each other," Rangiku said.

She was not wrong. Masato and Unohanawere trying to kill each other. Their every strike was filled with bloodlust and killing intent.

One mistake, and both of them might die right here.

Seeing such a fight, Soifon couldn't help but remember the fight between Unohana and Zaraki. At that time, the fight was no different than today.

Both Zaraki and Unohana wanted to kill each other, but in the end, Zaraki didn't kill Unohana.

After that Unohana changed her division to the 4th division and became amiable and gentle.

Most people have already forgotten the past of Unohana, but seeing her fighting, made Soifon realize again who Unohana was.

She was considered the second strongest after Yamamoto! One could imagine how strong she was.

Boom* A loud blast occurred as Masato was blasted away. His figure, like a throwing projectile, moved away from Unohana before slamming the ground on the way.

After about 100 meters, he finally stabilized himself and looked towards Unohana.

'Damn… even after two months of training, she is still one hell of a monster.'

Even with him using <<Knight's Strategy>> and finding a flaw in her, he still was not able to take her down.

Adding the fact that all the wounds he inflicted upon her, would heal right away.

'Guess I'll have to make a sacrifice of a hand to make sure to cut her down, once and for all!'

Making up his mind, he firmly looked at her. He clenched Est tightly before exhaling a breath.

Leaning down a little, he vanished from his place and appeared in front of Unohana, who seemed to know where he would appear as she already horizontally slashed there.

Seeing the coming slash, Masato didn't step back but raised his empty hand in the direction of it and blocked it.

Unohana's eyes widened as she saw her sword cutting his hand off, but that was all Masato needed.

"Ahhhhh!" He shouted and thrust his sword at Unohana's heart. Seeing it, Unohana hurriedly composed herself but it was too late as the sword had already reached her chest.

Puff* Sound of blood spurting resounds as Masato's sword pierces her heart.

Silence filled the room as both Soifon and Rangiku looked at them with wide eyes, not believing what just happened.

"Those Idiots!" Soifon cursed under her breath before shouting at Isane, "Go and call the medic, hurry!"

"Y-yes!" Isane nodded and hurriedly left the hall.

"Ha… Ha… Ha…" Masato, taking tired breaths, looked at Unohana.

She had blood flowing out of her mouth as she silently stared at Masato before smiling, "It was a brilliant fight, Masato-kun… I don't even remember the last time I had such a fulfilling fight… but… it seems that I won't be able to complete my part of the bet…" she said as she could feel her life slipping away from her body.

"Heh!" Masato smirked, "You don't think that I would kill my to-be wife, right?"

Unohana's eyes widened and she coughed as Masato pulled Est out of her body. Her world spun for a second as she lost her balance but Masato caught her.

Looking at Unohana, who had lost consciousness, Masato gently laid her down.

<<Ayame, Shun'ō; I Reject>>

Two balls of light came out of his body before engulfing both him and Unohana in it.

He saw as both his HP and the wound on Unohana started to heal at a fast pace. Seeing this, he sighed and thought, 'I still can't get used to this ability. Even after experimenting with it for two months, I am barely able to scratch its surface.'

Bam!* The door of the hall was slammed open and Isane rushed in with the medic team. Behind her, Rukia also entered in a hurry.

"Is the captain alright?" Isane worriedly asked.

"It's okay. She has just lost consciousness." Masato answered.

"Masato, why didn't you wake me up?" Rukia asked with an annoyed expression.

She also wanted to see their fight, but when she woke up, Masato was nowhere to be seen.

She found out about him when she met Isane outside. She was quite annoyed that Masato didn't wake her up before fighting.

"Ah, sorry. You looked too cute to wake up." Masato said while scratching his cheek.

'I swear if the system didn't give me <<Crying Resistance>>...'

"C-cute!? Idiot! What kind of reason is that?!"

'Well… she indeed acts cute…' He thought internally while watching Rukia trying to hide her blush.

"Are you an idiot, Masato Oosuki? Was it really needed to fight like that?" Soifon, who appeared beside Masato with Rangiku, asked.

She couldn't understand his or Unohana's reason to fight till death.

"Oh, you didn't know that?" He looked towards Soifon and said, "If I win the bet, then Unohana will become my woman."

"What!?" Soifon exclaimed in surprise as she looked at Masato with widened eyes. Her mind is trying to process what she just heard.

She could only stand and stare at Masato and Unohana with a dumb stare.

Seeing her like that, Masato shrugged. He was quite aware of the fact that it would create waves one person in Soul Society knew about. But none of it mattered to him.

---

"Umm…" with slight discomfort, Unohana opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, confused.

Soon, the memories of what happened in the morning played in her mind before she sighed.

Never in her whole 2000+ years of her life did she ever think that she would be 'married'... and in such a fashion.

When she accepted the request with Masato, she was quite confident in her skills. After all, she was sure that no one can match her in swordsmanship in Soul Society except Yamamoto.

But since Masato challenged her, she would never back down.

During the training of two months, she had seen the monstrous improvement in Masato's skill. To the point where even she started to doubt whether she can win the fight or not.

Today, during the fight, she could clearly tell that she was winning it. Sooner or later, her blade would cut Masato down.

But never in her wildest dream did she think that Masato would sacrifice his hand to strike her down.

Such a battle style, it was even wilder than Zaraki, who loved the feeling of his skin getting cut.

Even he would not sacrifice his hand during a battle. He had that much common sense.

But Masato did it. It still surprised her, just thinking about it.

'Sigh… none of it matters now anyway.'

That is right. It didn't matter if he sacrificed his hand or not, the fact that she lost wouldn't change.

As she was lost in her thoughts, the door of the room opened as Unohana looked in its direction.

"Hm? You're awake? Good, I was getting worried if something happened to you as you didn't regain your consciousness for a day now."

Placing a bowl with soup, Masato said.

He looked at Unohana for a second before asking, "What? Are you disappointed?"

"A little." Unohana didn't hide it, "I never thought that I would lose again, and this time it's a kid (who is two millennium times younger than me) who did it."

Masato giggled, hearing her.

"Well, you should get used to it then. After all, this kid is now your boyfriend."

"Not a husband?" Unohana raised a brow and asked.

"We've not married, but if you want, then-husband it is." Masato shrugged, it didn't matter to him anyway.

"..." Unohana became silent for a second before she suddenly asked, "Masato… What is your goal in life?"

Masato raised a brow at her unexpected question, "Why so sudden?"

"I just wanted to know, why are you becoming this strong? Is there something you want to achieve?"

Unohana had seen many people in her life. From just one glance, she could tell that Masato was pursuing something.

She wondered what it was that made him want to gain more strength when he was already stronger than the strongest Shinigami.

Masato's eyes glazed as he became silent. Honestly, he, himself, was not aware.

Since the time he was reincarnated in this world, Masato has asked himself this question: What is your role in this world? What is your purpose?

After all, he didn't want to just randomly walk with no aim.

"...I don't know." After a little silence, he answered, "I just have this feeling to become strong. It's like my whole body and soul is screaming at me to become strong. I don't know why nor do I have any idea - but since this is what my soul requires, I can only compile it."

He smiled and said, "It is better than just walking randomly, I guess."

It was true. Since the first day, he opened his eyes in this world, in the body of Masato Oosuki - the very first idea that popped into his mind was to become strong.

It was as if his whole soul was condemning him for being so weak and pathetic. He didn't know the reason for this, but he still unconsciously started to greed for strength.

There was only one idea in his mind - the more the better.

Otherwise, Masato was not an ambitious person… or at least that is what he thought.

He didn't mind his life being normal, but his body and soul said otherwise.

"I see… so you are afraid."

"Huh?" Masato's eyes widened as he looked at Unohana in pure bewilderment, "What do you mean?"

"You don't know?" This time it was Unohana who was surprised. She smiled gently and said, "Your actions… and the way you talk, it is of those who are afraid of losing something."

"Someone who has experienced a loss and wants to change such a past - they seek power above all. You are confused and afraid. You don't know the reason for your existence and yet you fight for more. As if afraid to lose what is given to you."

"Masato-kun… What is it that you are afraid of?"

Silence filled the room as Masato's heartbeat rose to a significant level, but his Gamer Mind hurriedly controlled his panic.

He took a step back and sat on a chair before massaging his head, 'I am afraid? Was what Unohana said true? But then what? What am I afraid of? I don't remember something that happened in the past that made me afraid of something…'

Suddenly, Masato's eyes widened, 'Past… I can't remember anything… What happened?!"

A slight panic raised in his heart while thinking about it, 'I… don't remember anything? I am sure that I remembered things from my past, I mean, this whole Bleach plot and all…'

But then it hit him, he can't remember anything but the plot of Bleach.

His friends, family, places; everything seems to vanish in thin air.

'System, what is happening?!'

{

The Gamer never was aware of his past. The memories that The Gamer possessed were the memories given to him by the Creator.

}

'What!? It is the first time I am hearing it! I don't remember making any sort of deal with this creator you speak of! But if that's the case, what happened to my original memories?'

"Masato? Are you alright?" Unohana asked, looking at Masato who was gripping his head while sweating.

"Ah, no, nothing." He shook his head, "I am alright. Just thinking about something."

"I understand." Unohana nodded and said, "You don't have to think much about it. With time, you will know everything. You are still quite young, after all."

Masato nodded but he was still thinking about what the system just said.

If the memories he had possessed were something given to him by the creator of the system, then who was he? What was he afraid of and why did he want power so much?

'Then the reason why my origin made me more kind and merciful… is it also related to my past life?'

After some time, he shook his head and sighed.

"Sorry. I am kind of tired. I'll talk to you later." He said and stood up to leave.

Unohana nodded, "You shouldn't let what I said affect you too much. Take your time, and you will eventually understand everything."

Masato didn't say anything and left the room. He seriously needed to relax his mind from everything that just happened.

'I really want to meet Okaa-san now… sigh… She and Mama Raikou… I missed their hugs. Guess I'll go back tomorrow. And it's not like I have much to do here. Anyway, I've already left a space mark here so I can come whenever I want.'

---

The next day, Masato was standing in front of Senkaimon, the gate that joins the living world and the soul society.

Though he wanted to stay for a longer period of time here, in soul society, he seriously wanted to go and replenish some mother energy after what happened yesterday.

"Are you sure you want to leave? Even though you've only asked for a two months stay, I don't think anyone would have a problem with you staying here for a longer period." Rukia said.

She looked at Masato with worry in her eyes as Masato has been acting quite weird since yesterday.

"It's alright," He shook his head and said, "I missed Okaa-san. So I thought it was the best time to leave." He leaned forward and gave her a gentle kiss before whispering into her ear, "Anyway, I can come here whenever I want."

Rukia's face was bright red but she, unlike before, didn't say anything to him and nodded.

Masato looked at Unohana, who was also present with Soifon and Rangiku and smiled, "I'm sorry. Just when I won the bet and all that, I've to leave."

Unohana shook her head and gently said, "I know you need some time to settle your thoughts. We have all the time in our lives to think about other things."

Masato gratefully smiled. He thought that it was good to have a mature woman around you.

There was barely a single woman around him that acted mature, according to their ages.

"Onee-san will miss you, Masato-kun~." Rangiku went ahead and hugged Masato.

"Don't worry. You just need to use the crystal and I'll be there. But this time it would not be only teasing."

Rangiku blushed before separating herself from Masato.

"Since you have decided to leave, I thought it would be appropriate to come and say goodbye to you." Soifon said with her hands folded under her chest and said, "Here. Ukitake-san said to me to give it to you. It is a device with which you can communicate with Soul Society."

Looking at the black cat plushie, Masato's brow twitched and he asked, "But why is it in the shape of a black cat?"

"You got a problem?" Soifon glared at him and asked.

"Nothing," Masato shook his head and said, "It's just highly suspicious."

Seeing that if he said anything more, Soifon might attack him, he stored the pushie in his inventory before waving his hand.

"Then I'll be going."

He didn't say anything further and followed after the Shinigamis that would lead him to the living world.

Though he could use space manipulation to do it, Soul Society didn't need to know that.

'Now that I wonder, what happened to all those premonitions that system made two months ago?'

Just as he thought that his eyes widened as a golden magic circle bloomed under him. It was made up of extremely delicate design and engraved with different runes that Masato couldn't understand.

'Fuck me!' Cursing himself internally, he activated his eyes right away with a sword appearing in his hands.

Without thinking much, he slashed towards the line on the circle but…

Clang* With that sound, Masato's eyes widened as he found himself bound by golden chains. He looked at them and the name of the chain appeared in his mind.

'Enkidu!? Why are these chains here!?'

But he didn't have time to think about it as the magic circled bloomed with dazzling golden light and covered Masato in it.

A second later, the light vanished, same with Masato and the chains that were holding him.
