Chapter 2: Reborn
"Just a little push Madam, the child will come out," said an old midwife while helping the woman lying on the bed on her birthgiving.
"aggghhhh" screamed the woman who was lying on the bed while her face was red and her sweat was dripping all over her face. She cannot hide the difficulty she feels from giving birth.
Outside the room.
A man was standing restlessly and pacing around in his position.
"oh well, god of magic please, make my wife and baby safe" he earnestly prayed.
Suddenly, when he heard his wife scream because of the birth he fainted from nervousness in the position where he was currently standing.
An old man who looked like him came quickly to support him.
" Jaime wake up, you are not the one giving birth so don't pass out."
He slapped Jaime's face with a mixture of annoyance at him.
Jaime came to his senses and was surprised to see his father, James, slapping him.
"Stop it Father, stop it, I'm awake, my cheek hurts."
When Jaime begged, James immediately released his son.
"You're embarrassing Jaime, You're one of the best mecha pilots in our family and fearlessly fights against colossus beasts, and now you're just fainting from your wife's screams"
Jaime suddenly stood up with his cheeks reddened from the slap if his colleagues heard about it, his reputation would be ruined.
A woman came out of the room where Fortuna was giving birth.
"Sir Jaime, Madam Fortuna has finished giving birth, you can come in now".
Jaime immediately entered the room upon hearing what the maid said.
Inside the room, he saw his wife Fortuna as she lay weak on the bed.
On the other side, there was his baby wrapped in a white cloth and carried by the midwife.
Meanwhile, Jaime approached where Fortuna was first.
"Fortuna, are you okay, do you feel something?" Jaime asked worriedly.
Fortuna smiled at Jaime.
"I'm fine Jaime, I know you want to hug your son. Go ahead, go see him, I'll rest first"
Jaime was embarrassed and just nodded at Fortuna. He excitedly took the child from the midwife's arms.
" Sir Congratulations, your wife has given birth to a healthy boy."
The smile on Jaime's face can't be hidden once he learns that his wife gave birth to a son.
"My son is so cute, from now on your name will be Klein Helck the next heir to Helck City".
After 17 years.
I am Dr. Klein the creator of the Perfect Artificial Intelligence I called Xerxes. After I died when my assistant Darwin shot me, I was reincarnated in this world.
Same as my name on Earth, Klein, this is also the name given to me by my parents.
Unfortunately, the new world I belong to is not like the old earth I lived in. This world is a world of magic.
Magic beasts, Titan creatures, and other races. This is all there is in this world.
Humans are one of the major races living in this world. But unlike expected, humans do not have their magic.
There are only knights in the human race, but the fact that humans don't have magic doesn't mean they don't use magic anymore.
Magic is the source of power for humans to defend themselves against their enemies.
The most magnificent thing that humans created by using magic is the so-called Mechas.
Yes, Mechas like Gundams, but compared to Gundams they are just lame.
They can only fight on lands with weapons like spears and swords and defend using shields. The only feature that this mecha is good at is its large size and tremendous power that enable it to fight and defend against colossus beasts.
I, unfortunately, was reborn into the Helck Clan family. A famous family in the production of mechas and with great mecha pilots.
Currently, I am the son of the City Lord of Helck City, a city where the Helck Family was built.
Eighteen years ago before I was born into this world. The Helck Clan is a vassal clan under the Roden Empire. A great Empire with a million of people under its reign.
The Helck family serves as one of the producers of mechas for the Royal Family of the Roden Empire. Unfortunately, an unexpected event occurred so the Helck family was exiled to the Helck Empire.
In the middle of the princes of the empire fighting for the throne, the prince supported by the Helck clan was defeated, causing them to be expelled from the empire by the new emperor.
Fortunately, during the hundreds of years of the Helck Family living under the Roden Empire, many assets were brought outside the empire. This clan was prepared for what might happen after the emperor was replaced.
Fortunately, the leader of the clan expected this so as not to destroy the foundation of the family.
Even though the Helck family has built their city, it is still not like living in the empire, the city is surrounded by large walls, but if it encounters King Colossus Beasts from the outside, the city will surely be wiped out in an instant.
Fortunately, I have something that was brought to me when I was reborn. There is none other than my created AI, Xerxes, even though I don't know how, since I realized that I was reborn, Xerxes is the same, he that stays in my mind.
Xerxes has a magical space that occupies the inside of my mind where he currently resides. It was a great thing that I was happy about.
In addition, data from earth technology from agriculture to the latest devices and even weaponry were brought by Xerxes in his memory, but in my seventeen years of living in this world, I did not release them.
Why? Because I want to focus on my family first.
Unlike in my previous world, I have a mother and father who always follow me here and take care of me. Even though I have been alive for almost seventy years, I have only now experienced the warmth of family because I was an orphan in my previous life.
Currently, I'm in the City Lord's office to accompany my father, as the next City Lord of the City, I also have to learn what a City Lord does.
"Son, do you want to go home first? I told you it's too boring here, I'm not in a hurry to let you learn how to manage the City" Jaime said while signing papers on his desk.
"Don't worry Dad, I'm fine. I'm really glad that I'm here now instead of just staying at home" I replied while relaxing and sitting on the sofa in his office.
But suddenly, the door of the office was pushed by an officer.
Jaime stopped writing and looked at the person who entered the office.
" Lieutenant Arvin, what's the problem?"
Jaime immediately asked the lieutenant while the lieutenant was catching his breath.
"City Lord bad news, there is a beast that will rush into the City"
Jaime was immediately alerted and even Klein was surprised by what the lieutenant had announced.
"What kind of beast and what is the situation outside the town?"
The Lieutenant immediately caught his breath and revealed the details.
"Lord, the beast is in the East part of the City, 100 km away, it was a group of earth dragons that are in the Normal Category and Elite Category. Almost a hundred beasts in numbers but the problem is the leader of the beasts, it is in the Extraordinary Categories"
After the lieutenant told the details regarding the beast, Jaime frowned and was deep in thought.
"This is bad news, hurry up. It should not reach the City Wall. Lieutenant, Immobilize Fifty Mechas, including support knights to fight normal and elite beasts, Faster"
After the lieutenant heard the order, he immediately left the office.
"Dad, aren't there too many Mechas that we will use today to take down the extraordinary beast?".
Klein asked curiously.
Based on the category of beasts, a normal beast is only as big as a tiger and can be compared to a beginner knight, while the elite one needs an elite or advanced knight to fight it and it is about the size of an elephant, meanwhile, a General knight can fight a Commander Category beast that is almost twice the size of an Elite beast.
On the off chance that a beast's level exceeds the Category of Commander Beast, this is where Extraordinary Beasts appear.
An Extraordinary beast is about 30 to 70 meters tall and it is no longer at the level where several general knights could take it down because of its excessive size, the human-sized weapon can't simply destroy their defenses and can't even make a large wound on its body.
This is why they need the help of Mechas to fight this giant beast.
