Chapter 85:Days past will come

Ethan's POV

I was breathless from the pain and bewildered by what had just happened to me. But then everything went black, and the light vanished. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a completely different place, surrounded by an all-encompassing whiteness. A few seconds later, an incredibly beautiful and imposing man appeared before me. He had long white hair and red eyes, with enormous white horns protruding from either side of his forehead. His broad shoulders and muscular body were strikingly impressive.

His face was flawless, and his naked body stood proudly before me. At that moment, I looked down and realized that I was also naked. My hand reflexively moved to cover my groin. However, the handsome man before me looked at me questioningly, standing tall with all his splendor.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Who am I? ... Ah, I had forgotten that I was in this body. I am Anaxor, the devil you saw earlier" he said.

I struggled to believe that this man before me was the devil I had seen earlier.

"Why do you look like this?" I asked curiously.

"This was my appearance once. The distorted body you saw before was not my original form. I used to own this perfect body."

Listening to the devil without hiding my curiosity, I realized that deep within his heart, there was a sense of resentment or grudge. Maybe I could use this to my advantage because I didn't want to enter a fight. Because I didn't have a hundred percent chance of winning. I just wanted to survive, and I was ready to do whatever it took.

"So, what happened to you?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter anymore. If you're done desperately trying to buy time, let's fight now" he said.

"Are we going to fight unarmed?" I asked.

"Yes. We are now in the realm of spirits, and our spirits cannot use weapons," he replied coldly.

"Are we equally matched in power?" I asked.

Realizing that I was still trying to buy time, Anaxor got a little irritated. "In terms of strength, yes, but not in terms of combat IQ. Because our memories are still with us."

Once the fight was inevitable and I realized I couldn't buy more time, I clenched my fists in desperation and took my stance. Anaxor looked at me with an arrogant expression.

When Anaxor took a step, I felt the ground shake. Every movement was filled with supernatural speed and power. I, on the other hand, regulated my breathing and held my guard tightly, waiting. I knew I had to make the first move; otherwise, I would be defenseless against Anaxor's overwhelming power. Anaxor's red eyes glowed, and he attacked suddenly. As his fist came towards me, I instinctively dodged and tried to get behind him. However, his reflexes were much faster than mine. He turned his arms back and grabbed me, throwing me to the ground. Rolling in pain, the only thought in my mind was survival.

As I fell to the ground, I used my legs to spring back and jumped at him. As I tried to land a punch on his face, Anaxor countered with a blocking move. Our hands locked together, and a struggle for dominance began. Despite his superior strength, I resisted with determination. It felt like fire was shooting from my eyes; every muscle felt like it was tearing, but I wouldn't give up. A sneer appeared on Anaxor's lips. "Is that all?" he mocked. Unable to control my anger, I suddenly knocked him to the ground with my legs and quickly climbed on top of him. As I rained punches on his face, I saw him defending each time.

Finally, Anaxor found an opening and threw me off with a single move. Even while in the air, I tried to maintain my balance, and when I landed, I took my stance again. When Anaxor stood up, he had a few cuts on his face, but he was still confident and arrogant. "Impressive, child. But this is just the beginning."

At that moment, I started to notice his weaknesses. Each attack was powerful, but he left openings behind. I needed to turn this to my advantage. He attacked again, but this time, I changed my strategy. I dodged every punch, evaded every kick, and watched for signs of fatigue.

Anaxor frowned as he looked at me. "You are determined, but it's not enough!" he shouted and suddenly disappeared. I looked around with eyes wide open but couldn't see him. Suddenly, he appeared behind me and gripped my neck. I was gasping for air, searching for a way to escape. I lowered my head and bit his arm with all my strength.

We were both fighting with only the strength of our spirits. It was clear that the Anaxor body I had seen before wouldn't be affected by such a bite, but now it was just his spirit. However, I still couldn't gain an advantage over Anaxor. After all, his battle experience was far greater than mine. As we continued our struggle, Anaxor would sometimes leave openings, but whenever I attacked these openings, he would launch a strong counterattack and destroy me with his punches. At that moment, I realized Anaxor was faking me out, and I stopped attacking his open areas.

But this was worse for me because I could no longer gain the upper hand. He predicted every move I made, and not only did he block my attacks successfully, but he also countered with brutal force. I realized that I could never win a head-to-head fight with Anaxor, and I needed to change my strategy. I had to beat him not with fists but with cunning. But this devil, who had fought perhaps hundreds of battles, was not easily manipulated, and if I failed, I would lose everything.

So, I pretended to launch a punch at his stomach, and Anaxor immediately went on the defensive. I feigned a punch towards his head with my other hand, and Anaxor tried to defend my fake attack with his other hand. With both his hands in defense, I spun around and ran as fast as I could without looking back.

Yeah, I ran away...

Anaxor's laughter echoed behind me. "Running away? How pathetic!" he shouted. But I ignored his taunts, increasing my speed as I ran through the white void. I had no escape plan, but I was desperately trying to buy time and create an opportunity. As I ran through the white void, a door covered with strange symbols and signs suddenly appeared in front of me. Without hesitation, I headed for the door and pushed it with all my might. The door creaked open, and I rushed inside, closing it behind me.

The interior was a dark room. I was out of breath, feeling my heart pounding wildly in my chest. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I noticed a large mirror in the middle of the room. I approached the mirror and looked at myself. I saw the fear and determination in my eyes. I took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts. I knew Anaxor would come after me. So, I had to hurry. Standing in front of the mirror, I examined it carefully. Suddenly, something sparkled behind my reflection. I stepped back and looked carefully, but it was very dark.

On the other side of the mirror someone was looking at me and the person looking at me had black hair. He had a very depressed look and there was a mark on his throat. It looked as if he had tried to commit suicide before but the rope had broken. As I was trying to remember how I knew this information, the man in the mirror took a step forward and I was shocked by what I saw. The other person in the mirror was my body from my previous life.
