CHAPTER 9:RAGE.

The two of them kept staring at each other in complete silence.

Rius noticed the boy's red eyes glistening in the broad day light. His eyes were sparkling like ruby. When the boy spoke earlier, he noticed a pair of sharp fangs underneath those moving lips. Those fangs reminded Rius of vampires. The boy was also staring back at him with a subtle expression of shock.

The boy looked around him. He saw that they were on a piece of floating land covered in greenery. The view of the ocean kissed them from everywhere. Looking back at the fairy like boy he asked again, "Is this really not heaven?"

Rius shook his head denying it.

I see. The boy thought to himself. He had jumped into the abyss in an attempt to kill himself. But he didn't die. Moreover when he woke up he was greeted by a very mysterious looking child. He even mistook this person for a girl.

As the heir of his pack he was given a befitting education deserving of a pure blood.

The colours of the rainbow embedded in their jewel like eyes; their hair colour dyed by the same, the shades shifting from time to time as if the colour of the passing light rays were reflected through a prism.

According to ancient records, these traits were possessed by a legendary supreme race. The race was known as Mystique.

The boy knew this much. He could tell that the child before him was a Mystique, a race which went extinct eons ago.

Rius noticed how the child went silent as if he has fallen into a deep thought. He waited patiently for the boy to speak more. But on contrary to what he had expected the boy laid down on the ground once more before closing his eyes and resuming his sleep.

"....." This attitude didn't fit a five year old for some reasons.

The tiny back of the boy faced Rius.

There was a long pause of silence for sometime.

Being the older one, Rius decided to initiate the conversation instead of waiting for a five year old kid to do so.

"How did you end up here? Do you remember?"

"..." There was no answer.

"You can stay here if you don't want to return. I will bring you a few things more." Saying this Rius disappeared.

For now, his questions could wait.

When the boy turned around, the Mystique wasn't there anymore. Death is full of mysteries. He thought to himself. Right when he had attempted to die he had an undeniably dreamlike encounter with a mythical being. It was as if he threw away his life for naught only to be saved by a godly being, who, by the way, has even brought him food to eat and blankets to use. There was even a small bed a bit further away from where he was lying down. Staring at the generous things given to him, he felt an indescribable feeling brimming in his heart. This feeling was far from what gratitude felt. It was more of a negative feeling than a positive one.

He still remembered that night. When he decided to end his life the first time, he was full of regret and remorse towards himself. So the second time he was given another chance to live, he gratefully gave life a second shot, only to be framed and betrayed by his own kind. In his first life, he never made an attempt to let people near him. But in his second life he gave his all to be around people yet what he got in the end was a wish to perish forever.

Maybe he was never meant to receive love from others.

**Sting**

The painful feeling was tugging at his heart again.

He closed his eyes, his brows frowning heavily. He just wanted to sleep and never wake up.

Can't he just....

"Hey! Wake up!"

The boy flung his eyes open, surprised by the loud voice booming above his head. The Mystique was back again. Except that those rainbow eyes were piercing down at him with a flaring gaze.

"YOU!" In a loud angry voice, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"

His crimson red eyes glowed brightly as he stared back at the angry Mystique before him.

"Answering you is not my obligation." He replied in an ice-cold voice.

The Mystique boy let out a small hm, his face calm, but he could tell that this boy was still angry at him.

"I thought you were a child. Turns out you are not." The Mystique said this to him as he bent over, his hands stretching towards him.

"If so, then I won't hold back!"

**Punch**

Not only was he grabbed by his colar, he was also punched on his face.

BOOM!

There ocean water exploded from time to time. A small body was flying left and right, his whole body being twisted with an overwhelming power.

BANG!

Cough. Cough.

The white haired boy coughed out a mouthful of blood. His eyes narrowed at the Mystique as he was being beaten to a pulp, without being given a chance to retaliate.

"YOU....." The shape of forelimbs shifted into a more animalistic form. But before he could catch a breathe to stabilize himself another heart wrenching punch fell on his stomach.

"Cough. Cough." He vomitted a mouthful of blood as he felt his body flying backwards.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Huffing out his chest he was back on the floating landmass once again. This time, he was dragged onto it by the collar. The culprit was the same damn Mystique. Through his bloody vision he could still see the mad face the Mystique was making.

Thud!

He dropped onto the ground. Meanwhile the Mystique turned around to face him, his cold eyes staring down at him.

"Since you want to die so badly I might as well end you for good."

His red eyes widened as he watched the Mystique draw back his right hand to build the right momentum required for his attack. He could see the space of the area around the tiny fist cave in towards the punch that was swung forward towards him. This action happened in an instant yet the motion of the act was playing very slowly in his eyes.

THUMP!

THUMP. THUMP.

THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.

He could feel his heartbeat accelerate. It was undeniable....

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!

A crashing force hit his entire face, the momentum of the shockwave crashing behind him, splitting the ocean path into two. His body shook with a strange excitement. His heart and mind was trembling just with the thought of being hit with the impact that has grazed past him. He tilted his head to the left. From the corner of his eyes he saw a scene that left his heart cold with awe.

"!!!"

The ocean was split into two, and the sea floor to its path was visible.

"You!"

In a fleeting state of daze he turned around to the person calling out to him.

"Do you still want to die?" The Mystique asked him in a very stern voice. Except that the anger in his eyes was gone. But his gaze was fierce and rough.

"!!" The white haired boy was in a daze.

"ANSWER ME. Do You still want to die? If so I can end you here."

His eyes drooped. His body was still trembling recalling the feeling of instant death closing down at his face.

That punch just now.....

He went mute.

The silence itself was the answer.
