The Woman Who Stole His Heart

Henry sat at the head of the table during breakfast for the first time in nearly two weeks.

He had missed the chaos that went along with dining with knights. From his perspective, there were seemingly dozens of conversations going on at once. It gave him snippets of each one of his men and what they had been doing since he was bedridden. He joined in on any conversation he was invited to but it was satisfying to sit there and listen as well.

Since he wasn't entirely sure about eating a full meal to the extent of the other knights, he opted for a bowl of gruel. A few knights objected but he wouldn't tell them that he simply didn't want to be sick because he had something he was dying to do after breakfast.

Felix sat at his right and Irene sat at his left. He settled back into his chair after finishing his breakfast so he could get a glance underneath the table.
