The room was warm despite how unbelievably large the space was.
The light-colored brick was a theme that reached the banquet hall as well. The walls were covered in all sorts of cream-colored and gold tapestries that went almost from the floor to the ceiling. Henry imagined the ceiling had to be at least twenty feet high.
On each window was a draping curtain in a sheer cream material but there were flecks of gold throughout. From up close, one could tell that there were small details made of fine gold thread that glistened in the peaceful candlelight.
In the center of the room in a large rectangle was what seemed to be a place to dance. It allowed those at the tables to keep an eye on who was dancing. It truly was a gossip's paradise where they could watch the drama unfold without leaving their table or glasses of wine behind.
