I Want To Be A Romance Novel's Love Interest

*A slow-burn fantasy romance. The weak to strong tale of a peasant on the path of finding the love he deserves. Guarding Her Sleeping Commander

All that was heard for a long time was the clanking of their plate armor and their even breathing as they tried to remain calm despite the labyrinth of the cave feeling hopelessly endless.

Even though they couldn't see, they felt their way along and never ran into further trouble. There were no signs of any more monsters as far as they could tell.

Irene had gotten used to using Henry as a crutch and they found a way to walk where he could support her but they still made a steady pace forward even though the rocky path they were on went slowly higher and higher.

"I feel like we're certainly headed towards the summit," Henry observed. "We've been walking upwards for such a long time."

Gradually, their eyes which had been starved of vision for so long spotted the very beginnings of light.

Irene gasped.

"That has to be an exit," she said, relief filling her heart. "I think we've finally made it."

"Just a bit further then," Henry urged.
