Chapter 1Chapter 1 - Protagonist and Transmigrator

In a room filled with scattered books and quills, a young man of around 20 lay on his bed.

With the final 'tick', Reinhard's eyes fluttered open. A soft murmur, "System Start," initiated the 'Stability System,' an intangible companion that had accompanied him for three years as an Ensurer.

His gaze shifted to the holographic interface materializing before him, revealing a list of skills, inventory, and a detailed quest description.

With a blank stare, Reinhard gazed at the holographic interface and said, "Open Survival Package." His voice echoed in the room as he summoned the {Special} Survival Package, causing a shimmering light to appear before his system interface.

With a sigh of relief, Reinhard can finally relax.

Keeping his mind empty as he remembered everything in the plot can be dangerous without any skills to protect himself from The Outer Gods.

Now, I have [Freedom], [Psychic Immunity], and [Fate Denial] to protect me mentally.' Reinhard thought as he continued to sleep, 'I wonder how Klein is doing now, I bet he's freaking out...

-(Klein/Zhou Mingrui POV)-1

"Would you like to try a divination?"

Zhou Mingrui hesitated when offered a chance at divination.

A woman, adorned in a pointed hat and long black dress, stood near a modest tent, her face painted in hues of red and yellow, her eyes a captivating grayish-blue.

"Sorry, not interested," Zhou Mingrui declined, citing a lack of funds.

The woman insisted, boasting about her precise tarot readings.

"Tarot..." Zhou Mingrui was stunned.

The term echoed the Earth's divination cards, depicting various omens through symbolic graphics.

Suddenly, he remembered the origins of tarot in this world.

It wasn't rooted in ancient traditions or the seven gods but was the creation of Roselle Gusta, an influential figure from the Intis Republic 170 years prior. Roselle, a revolutionary inventor, altered the perception of craftsmanship, introducing tarot divination along with a range of card-based games.

This... To recall such general knowledge suddenly made him facepalm.

Could this be a transmigration senior?

Zhou Mingrui was curious to see what tarot cards looked like with this in mind. As a result, he nodded to the woman in the pointed hat with the painted face and remarked, "If the... well... price is reasonable, I'll give it a try."

"Sir, you are the first one here today, so it's on the house," the woman stated with a giggle.

Were you kidding me earlier? Is it necessary for you to be so petty? Isn't it true that I just asked a few times if this would be a free service? Zhou Mingrui's lips trembled slightly. He exhaled deeply and returned to the tarot deck to reorganize and cut it.

"There won't be any problems this time, right?" He returned the previously cut deck to the table.

"No problem." The fortune-teller drew a card from the top of the deck with her fingers. She then placed it on Zhou Mingrui's left side. "This card represents your past," she said, her voice becoming lower and lower.

"This card symbolizes your present." The second card was placed directly in front of Zhou Mingrui by the fortune-teller.

Then she chose the third card and placed it on Zhou Mingrui's right side.

"This card symbolizes the future."

"Alright, which card would you like to see first?" After completing her card placement, the fortune-teller raised her head and stared attentively at Zhou Mingrui with her grayish-blue eyes.

"I'll look at the 'present' first," Zhou Mingrui decided after some deliberation.

The fortune-teller gently nodded and flipped over the tarot card in front of Zhou Mingrui.

This card depicts a colorfully costumed figure wearing torn headwear and carrying a stick over his shoulder. A bindle hung from the end of the pole, and a dog trailed behind him. It had the number "0."

"The Fool," the fortune-teller said softly, her grayish-blue eyes locked on Zhou Mingrui.

The Fool? The tarot's "0" card? A beginning? A fresh start with endless possibilities? Zhou Mingrui could only speculate based on his impressions of tarot because he was not even regarded as an amateur fan.

The tent's fabric curtains were abruptly lifted open, just as the fortune-teller was about to announce something. The ray of sunshine that came in was so bright that it forced Zhou Mingrui, who was facing back, to automatically close his eyes.

"How come you're impersonating me again? It's my duty to manage the divination for folks!" yelled a lady. "Return to your post as soon as possible!" You must keep in mind that you are only an animal trainer!"

A trainer for animals? Zhou Mingrui's eyes had become used to the brightness by this point. He noticed a similar-looking woman wearing a pointed pointy hat and a black outfit, with her face painted in red and yellow. The only distinction was that she was taller and leaner.

The woman in front of him rose and grumbled, "Don't mind this, it's just that I like doing this. However, I must admit that my divination and interpretation are occasionally correct. I'm serious..."

She spoke, raised her dress to walk around the side of the table, and trotted out from the tent.

"Sir, would you like me to interpret your cards for you?" With a grin, the genuine fortune-teller asked Zhou Mingrui.

"Is it free?" Zhou Mingrui said, his lips twitching.

"...No," the genuine fortune-teller said.

"Then forget it." Zhou Mingrui drew back his hands and placed them in his pockets. He gripped his revolver and money before stopping again to exit the tent.

Chapter 1 is Completed!

I wanted to upload this because it doesn't appear when there are no chapters.

Thanks for reading! Could you please share your thoughts on this chapter? I'd like to know if you prefer my version of Klein's POV or if you would rather I use the original as a reference(or in this case, using the original novel directly).

Please note that not everything will be copied directly from the original; I just need some guidance on how to portray Klein's transmigration reaction, background, and the Tarot divination of the Fool.

I'd love to hear your honest opinion so I can make it even better. Don't hold back -- if there's anything you think I could improve, let me know. Your feedback is super valuable to me and will help me make my writing more interesting and helpful.

Thanks a bunch!
