Infiltration

A group of tattered people marched toward the stronghold. At first, William thought they were the enemy, but then he saw Augustus among the crowd, leading them. Their expressions of defeat said it all—they had surrendered.

"Open the gate! It's them! They're back!" William ordered the gatekeeper to raise the gate.

William went down to meet Augustus and Wolf. "So, what's the next plan?"

"These people are yours. You guys lack manpower, so they should be useful," Augustus said, pointing at the "leftovers" as he handed the slave contract to William. "Let's get this over with. I have something to do after this."

Augustus helped William with the contract signing, and with his presence, everyone signed the slave contract without much complaint. It was either sign it or die.

Wolf had already returned after Augustus took control, focusing on experimenting with food—a strange way to put it, but true.
