Chapter 7: You are too naive!

Ye Jingyi gazed at the woman with a myriad of emotions clouding his expression. At this juncture, confusion dominated his thoughts, leaving him uncertain about the appropriate course of action.

Simultaneously, the woman in red's eyelids quivered, and she exerted considerable effort to open her eyes. Upon regaining consciousness, she surveyed her surroundings and locked eyes with Ye Jingyi. An immediate defensive stance overtook her features as she confronted him with a cold inquiry, "What did you do?"

For the woman in red, the situation was equally complex. Her body had been exposed to a person devoid of any cultivation—an act that warranted severe consequences. Strangely, the impulse to end him was suppressed within her, leaving her confused and uncertain. Was it due to his extraordinary talent, manifested in the divine body?

Despite her internal confusion, she had shielded Ye Jingyi for an entire year, enduring the harsh trials of their predicament.

Observing her defensive posture, Ye Jingyi let out a bitter smile and replied, "I swear I don't remember a thing. Seriously, I think I have amnesia. Man, I even forgot my own name. Beautiful sister, do you happen to know what my name is?"

Ye Jingyi's panicked attempt at self-defense showcased his lack of a viable solution for the situation.. He mused inwardly, "This is precisely why I prefer dealing with equations rather than women. It's just too complicated."

Witnessing his clumsy attempts at explanation, the woman's forehead veins pulsated with anger.

Coughing abruptly interrupted the brewing tension. A mouthful of blood spilled from the woman's lips, staining the ground red. Alarmed, Ye Jingyi hastily stood and approached the woman in red.

"Stop!" The woman in red shouted, backing away as Ye Jingyi approached. Her situation was dire, with her healing pills exhausted, and her body gravely injured. Unable to mobilize her cultivation, she found herself in a state of powerlessness, no different from Ye Jingyi.

Ignoring her protest, Ye Jingyi stood before her. The woman, with a pale face, warned coldly, "Get away! Otherwise, don't blame me for killing you."

Ye Jingyi sighed helplessly, "I said, woman, I am not malicious. Why are you so defensive? Now that you are injured, let me take a look at your injury."

"Take a look at my injury? Are you a physician?" The woman in red was startled, her vigilance intact, uncertain of his motives.

"No, I am not a physician, but I can take a look at your injury," Ye Jingyi replied honestly. In a situation like this, honesty seemed the best course.

Hearing this, the woman's hope waned. In a cold tone, she said, "If you are not a physician, then there is no need for you to look at my injury," maintaining a distance from Ye Jingyi.

Shrugging his shoulders, Ye Jingyi said, "It's you who forced me to do this." He rushed toward the woman, holding her hands with his right hand and placing his left hand on her forehead.

"What are you doing? Get away, or else I will kill you," the woman shouted, attempting to break free from his grasp. She shook her head, trying to dislodge his hands, but her weakened strength proved insufficient. Glaring at him furiously, she realized he wasn't looking at her but staring at the wall behind.

"Thirty bone fractures, three dislocations, internal injuries, blood loss, and there is a big tumor in your stomach," Ye Jingyi stated as he removed his hands from her forehead.

Moments ago, Ye Jingyi utilized Lexi and a small part of the Nano Combat suit to investigate the details of the woman's injuries, revealing shocking findings. He couldn't fathom how she had managed to survive with such severe injuries.

The woman, upon hearing his diagnosis, was taken aback. His words were undeniably true, depicting her current state accurately but… What is this tumor? A hidden injury?

"Wait for me!" Ye Jingyi declared, leaving the cave without looking back. Before the woman could call him back, he vanished. She wanted to inquire about how he discerned her injuries, but the opportunity slipped away. Maybe he is indeed physician?

Attempting to stand, dizziness overcame her, and she could only lean against the cave wall, gazing at the entrance with a complex expression.

"I should have expected this," she muttered bitterly, her voice tinged with sadness and helplessness. In her view, his departure was foreseeable. Injured and lacking the strength to wield her cultivation, she considered herself abandoned. Her perilous situation, being hunted in such a realm, seemed reason enough for him to leave.

This was the harsh reality of the cultivation world, where self-preservation often took priority.

Recollections of being pursued while shielding him flashed through her mind, bitterness and anger welling up. "In the end, I was too naive," she sighed, her eyes reflecting despair.

With enemies closing in, she believed her fate was sealed, akin to a fish on a chopping board.

Her hope of the young boy being physician and changing her situation had dwindled into impracticality.

"Yes, you are too naive," an untimely voice chimed in, startling her. Glancing to the right, she saw Ye Jingyi returning with a bunch of items in his hands. Seeing the person she thought had abandoned her, Hui Ying's mind went blank, unable to articulate her feelings at that moment.
