2 Chapter 2: Unlucky Bear!

"Di... Di... Scanning in progress... Scanning completed... 315 lifeforms detected within a radius of ten kilometers..."

Hearing this, Ye Jingyi raised his eyebrows, and a flash of excitement passed through his eyes. He quickly inquired, "Tell me the location of the nearest lifeform."

"Di... Di... 324 meters in the southwest..."

Upon receiving this information, Ye Jingyi sprinted toward the southwest. His incredible speed allowed him to cover three meters in a single second. Despite having the physical body of a normal person, he moved swiftly thanks to the Nano Combat suit.

'Will I encounter humans? Or aliens?' he wondered with excitement as he rushed towards the designated location.

Uncertain about whether he had entered another universe, Ye Jingyi couldn't scan the Origin frequency of this place due to a lack of high-tech equipment.

Arriving at the location, he was greeted by the sight of a three-meter-tall creature that resembled a bear. Startled, Ye Jingyi, though not an expert in this field, was sure that no such bear was recorded in the Federation's database.

"Lexi, scan the creature and compare it with the database," Ye Jingyi commanded his AI chip. He had named her Lexi.

"No data can be found," responded the cold voice of Lexi, the loli-like AI, as she carried out Ye Jingyi's command. He had chosen this voice for its soothing quality during tough times. Despite his choice, Ye Jingyi assured himself that he was not a Lolicon.

Returning to the present, Ye Jingyi smiled with goodwill as he observed the large bear sleeping in front of him. He approached the bear, whose ears perked up at the sound of rustling. As the bear sleepily opened its eyes, horror and a hint of human-like confusion filled its gaze.

Before the bear stood a human with a smile that, to the bear, seemed particularly eerie. The source of the bear's horror was the tentacles emanating from the human's body, wrapping around its legs and arm.

"Roar! Human: Leave me alone!" The bear spoke in a manner resembling a human, attempting to struggle against the bindings but failing.

Stunned, Ye Jingyi exclaimed in disbelief, "Can you speak?"

"Of course, I can speak. Now release me, or else don't blame me for being ruthless," the bear declared, unable to break free from the tentacles. Baring his teeth, he adopted a ferocious expression that would terrify any normal person.

Expecting fear, the bear was surprised when Ye Jingyi, instead of being scared, became even more excited. "A beast can speak? Is it due to mutation? Or is there some other reason? I will know this after checking his brain..." Ye Jingyi was lost in his thoughts, paying no attention to the bear's threats.

Licking his lips with a crazy gaze, Ye Jingyi expressed his eagerness to dissect the bear and unravel its mysteries. The bear sensed danger and, despite not understanding all the words, felt the urgency to escape.

"Roar! Human, release me! Otherwise, I would squash... huh?" The bear's threats abruptly stopped as Ye Jingyi's nano combat suit transformed, producing thin tentacles, each with different tools like knives, drills, and injections at the tip.

Horrified, the bear stammered, "You, human! What are you doing? Listen to me! Don't be impulsive; we can talk, okay? Don't resort to violence..."

Finding the bear's reaction amusing, Ye Jingyi said, "Don't worry! I will finish this quickly, and you will experience no pain..."

"No... Release me, you pervert..."

"Huh? I just did an x-ray and found that there is a tumor in your head. Let me remove it for you..."

"Huh? I scanned you and found a tumor in your head. Let me take care of it..."

In the heart of the forest, mournful howls echoed, sending a chill through other creatures as they retreated.

Later on, a bear and a human perched on a rock. Ye Jingyi was thrilled to confirm he'd landed in another universe. The black bear, on the other hand, sobbed like a jilted lover, feeling utterly wronged.

He had been having a peaceful nap when this human showed up and started pulling strange stunts. His once lush fur was now a shiny, bald pate. Thankfully, he managed to talk the human into stopping before more bizarre alterations could happen.

Such a mean human! Mom was right about the outside world not being safe. It's full of weirdos.

Observing the bear's bald appearance, Ye Jingyi offered a reassuring smile. "Don't be down, Baldy. Your hair will grow back in no time."

Ye Jingyi opted not to end the bear's life, recognizing the value of a live specimen over a deceased one. There were countless experiments he could conduct in the future, and he couldn't help but relish the thought with a mischievous chuckle.

Caught in the eerie gleam of Ye Jingyi's smile, the bear felt a shiver run down his spine. "Human, you said you wouldn't do anything to me..."

"Don't worry; I always keep my promises." Ye Jingyi beamed, though behind the smile, he harbored different intentions. "I won't harm you, but the same can't be said for Lexi. She might use you for an experiment..."

"Now, answer my question honestly." Ye Jingyi decided direct questioning was the better approach, recognizing the bear's intelligence. While he could extract memories directly from the bear's brain, he knew it could damage the bear and potentially render it an idiot.
