You know that feeling of trying to escape from someone by increasing your running speed but the person is just too fast? Yeah, that's exactly what was happening to Leonard. He increased his speed when he noticed the hefty man that was chasing him, but the more the man got closer to him, he was just too fast. How could he run so fast in this hefty body? Was he an athlete or runner before?
Leonard had noticed that the man was a fast runner, and the more he keeps running straight, the man would follow him...who knows, the man could even follow him to his residence. But he wouldn't let that happen, he sighted a corner while running and ran into the corner. And thank goodness, the corner was empty of people.
The man saw Leonard enter the corner and he entered it also, he was determined to catch him. Entering the intersection, he didn't see Leonard again, where the f**k did he go to? The intersection was vacant and it was a narrow passage, there were even dirt on the floor. But one thing the man was sure of was that Leonard was around here, he's definitely hiding somewhere.
The reason for that was 'cause the narrow passage was blocked by a tall fence, there was no way to come out of it except by coming out the same way you entered. So the man sauntered as he glanced from side to side at the best possible place where Leonard could be hiding. Getting very close to a bin across that passage, the man felt iron hit his head with force causing him to fall to the ground immediately.
The man was about to pass out, not die, pass out. His vision had become blurry, but he could still see the person that hit him on the head with the iron...it was Leonard. He was standing close to where the man fell with the iron in his hand, the hood covered his head, and he was standing in such a cool way. The man couldn't see his face well, but he knew it was Leonard...then he passed out.
Leonard threw the iron to the ground and uttered to himself,
"This is where your fast running has gotten you to, fool. You think you could catch me? Well, am ain't that dumb".
After making that statement, he began sauntering away leaving the man there.
'He would wake up after some hours, or people would notice him and come to help him'. Leonard thought to himself.
He strolled out of the passage heading straight to his apartment. As he sauntered, he thought about the fact that his efforts were in vain, he didn't discover the type of men Eva likes at her office and in the restaurant. It was complete evening already getting very close to nighttime, before you know it, the next day would reach.
His time was passing, and he wasn't close to completing his quest. He shook the thought of his mind as he continued strolling, he didn't want it to bother him. After journeying for minutes, he arrived at the door of his apartment and entered it, then he balanced on one of the sofas in the parlor. Sitting on the couch, he thought about that man he used an iron to hit on the head, he was afraid that something might happen to him, but he used that same thought to convince himself,
'Nothing would happen to him, I didn't hit him that hard? He'll wake up after some hours or someone would help him'.
He ate and drank something in the restaurant, but that wasn't enough to satisfy the hunger he had been holding for hours. He wasn't that hungry though, but he still wanted to eat something, so he strolled over to the kitchen and prepared a small number of cornflakes. Then he ate it there, and it was enough to satisfy the little hunger he was feeling.
Then he strolled over to the parlor and balanced on one of the couches again and began thinking about money. He had realized the importance of money, and he needed it. Like, there were a lot of things he could use money to do, the number one thing, he could use it to gamble. He was having the urge to go gamble, but he needed money to do so, his mind hadn't gone there all this while.
Maybe this was what the system meant when she said he wasn't aware of something. She approved that he could go gambling, but she knew he wouldn't be able to do so without money. Apart from gambling, he needed money for other things. For example, he needed to get a phone, a grown guy like him doesn't have a phone with him...that's bad.
Apart from getting a phone, sometimes he'll like to go eat in a restaurant or drink in a bar, he needed money to do so. So he planned on asking the system for money when she'll come for the daily reminder, yeah, he was expecting her to come remind him of how many days it was remaining before his quest expires. He believed that since they gave him an apartment and other essential stuff, they would also provide him with money.
Now that he was done thinking about money and how he was gonna get some, he began thinking about Eva and his quest. All his efforts today to find out the type of men she likes was in vain, it pained him. But you know what? He wouldn't give up and let himself die just like that? He was gonna keep trying to discover the type of men she likes. He planned on using the same strategy, he was gonna keep trailing her.
But this time, he wouldn't go to her office anymore, he was gonna stalk her right in her house. That was riskier, right? But that's what he was gonna do. He felt like there was a better chance of finding what he wanted in her house, he hopes that would work. Then he thought about John, he needed to speak with him, he needed that strategy he used in accomplishing his first quest.
John was the one that gave him the advice to discover the type of men Eva likes, but he wanted to know how John did his...how did he find out the type of men that petite girl liked? It was just unfortunate that he didn't see John at home yesterday, but he planned on going there tomorrow to try his luck...who knows, he could meet John at his apartment tomorrow.
He was staring at the television in front of him, but he wasn't in the mood to put it on at all. His mind was filled with other things, thoughts concerning his quest. He was on the couch when he heard the system's daily reminder,
[ Two weeks and two days to go, complete your quest, or you die]
Then Leonard uttered the same thing he was used to saying, "I know that".
He planned on asking the system for money, but he had totally forgotten 'cause of the thoughts on his mind. It was after some minutes of sitting on the couch that he remembered,
"What the heck! I forgot to ask the system for money, my mind was so filled up".
He ran his palms through his hair and began voicing out in an audible tone of voice, "She Lord! She Lord! can you hear me? I need money. I forgot to ask you, don't ignore me, I need money".
After voicing out for a minute more, he gave up, he realized that she wasn't gonna answer him...she was gone. Well, he'll just ask her tomorrow. He wanted to go to bed, but he wanted to freshen up first. He didn't bother to take his bath when he entered this apartment, eating was what came first, he was still even putting on the black hooded outfit. He took off his outfits and dashed into the bathroom immediately.
He spent a lot of time in the bathroom as he let water coming out of the shower pour on his head. The risky stuff he engaged in today wasn't easy, and the worst part of it was that it was in vain. So it was just like he was using this water to wash off the ugly memory from his head. Bathing to his satisfaction, he came out of the bathroom feeling as refreshed as ever, then he dressed up in casual clothes...it was about time to go to sleep.
He sauntered over to his room and landed on the bed, then he said to himself,
"John, I hope to find you home tomorrow, be at home, please".
Then he closed his eyes and dozed off.
