*RUMBLING!*
Lightning cracked the sky, and it was so loud, so deafening... as if to convey heaven's wrath through the somber tones of the swirling clouds.
After the killing, the downpours fell even heavier the before, and blood was everywhere. Accompanying the small deluge formed by the flowing rainwater, everything was washed down toward the beautiful lake of Xinyang Park.
"Charcoal..." Suddenly, Yayoi uttered the name of the pet she hatched in the morning.
She still remembers the hint from the system.
Death Swamp Crocodile: As a vicious creature that loves to feast on the blood and flesh of the terrorized adventurers, feeding it with human flesh will significantly accelerate its development.
"Indeed...how convenient."
Looking down at the gruesome, dismembered corpses scattering on the ground, Yayoi unhurriedly takes out the Storage Cube. She didn't want to leave the thugs' remains here since it would be troublesome if the cops traced them back to her.
Luckily, she wouldn't have to clean this awful mess herself as Charcoal would be more than happy to take care of it.
"Come out."
The levitating Storage Cube instantly buzzed at Yayoi's command, freeing the supposed three-meter-long monster trapped inside.
"Guaarrr!"
When Charcoal appeared, it barked with delight and started waggling its tail, rolling its plump body from side to side as it felt happy to be unrestrained.
As a newly hatched monster, Charcoal loved to move around.
The space inside the storage cube was just too small. When it first got inside, it couldn't even move because of the limited room, and after it finished digesting the eggshells, its size grew even larger.
That feeling of being suffocated without even being able to move a muscle, one could imagine how uncomfortable it feels.
"What's with that dissatisfied look? I hatched you, so show me some respect." Seeing Charcoal's glaring eyes, Yayoi casually slapped its silly head and said, "It has only been a few hours, and you have already forgotten about the previous beating, huh?"
"Roar~"
Charcoal lowers its head, not daring to move anymore like a wronged child, and only lets out a spineless cry.
Right now, it looked rather pathetic for a vicious predator.
"What was that?" Yayoi's face twitched. She suppressed her laughter and slapped its head again.
"I know you are hungry. It's feasting time, you lucky punk! Don't waste anything and eat them all. I can't go on a slaughter like this every day."
Scenting the smell of fresh blood, Charcoal started to get excited.
With Yayoi's permission, the crocodile started devouring the thugs' remains. She could hear the mixed sounds of it gnawing on their bones and flesh.
Killing the thugs vs. watching them get eaten are two completely different things.
The sounds give her a chill.
Although this scene feels rather upsetting, Yayoi didn't move her eyes away in the slightest and oversaw everything while holding onto its tail lest it took the chance to escape.
However, Yayoi was soon amazed by the rate at which Charcoal's body's growing. It's simply too fast! After eating five thugs, its body length actually increases by approximately half a meter...
'F*ck!'
It was shocking...
Yayoi realized that she was in deep trouble.
Although Charcoal's strength was still way below her, with its current size, it wouldn't fit into the Storage Cube anymore. Then... by the time it wolfed down the rest of the thugs, wouldn't it grow even bigger?
And sure enough, as Charcoal continued eating, its body became larger and larger, completely visible to the naked eyes.
'Damn...'
Ultimately, Yayoi released Charcoal's tail after some deliberation.
She wanted to test the water and could only hope that it wouldn't run away. And when Yayoi let go of its tail, Charcoal lifted its head and looked back at her while still busying chewing on a thug's leg.
They just looked at each other amid the rainfall.
Shortly after, when Charcoal completely swallowed the leg, it started wagging its tail happily and continued to eat.
*Whew!*
"Whatever. I don't care anymore. You do what you want, little bastard! Run away, if you will. But if you follow me, you must listen to my rule."
Charcoal: "Roar~"
"Oh? Ahem, I will take that as a yes." With that, she nudged its silly head and urged, "Well, I won't keep you in the Storage Cube anymore. Hurry up. I still want to r*pe that girl. If you take too long, she might really escape."
Yayoi stood up and looked toward the wood with a nasty smile.
"Naive!"
