The Goblins Training Regiment

The walk to village centre doesn't take too much time, around five minutes or so and Lucas already arrived to the village centre. A lot of goblin are looking at him with confusion, Lucas can already guess what was on their mind. Why were these human not detained? Not only that, he even guarded by five goblins guard around him, what's going on?

"We're here."

The building is made from wood and doesn't look much different from the other building he saw before. The only difference is there is some decoration above the entrance. It's a skull from a monster that Lucas has yet to encounter. It has a horn on top of his head. It resembles a bull, except it's not because the skull size is far to big for a bull.

The moment Lucas stepped inside the building, he saw a goblins sitting on top of a throne made from stone, he is guarded by four goblins dressed differently from the gobins that guarded Lucas.

'From the looks of it, they seems to be the elite of these goblins village, they're wearing leather armor. Not that it makes much difference when they get slashed or stabbed by an iron sword.. '

The Chieftain stared at Lucas for a while. Lucas can feel a pressure emanated from the Chieftain body. But for some reason, it felt weak, did something happen to the Chieftain before?

"So, you're the human that my men are talking about." Said the Chieftain, while still staring at Lucas. "They said you can help us, but how and why? Before you answer, let me tell you something, even though we are weak, we still could overwhelm you with number."

Lucas know why the Chieftain threatened him. His villagers lives are at stakes. They are haunted by the humans that always to come to ransack the village. So it's normal for the Chieftain to be wary of Lucas.

"I decided to help you because i can't stand looking at you goblins misery, it's actually not only you goblins, but all the non-humans." Lucas answered, he did not falter under the pressure from the Chieftain. Instead, he somehow feel thrilled. "I will say now that i'm not good with words, i prefer to prove myself through action than words. I promise to the Heavens that i will help you protect your people, i care not for you to believe me or not, but give me three months, and you will see the result later."

Determination flashed in Lucas eyes. Even though he's not the Emperor of Monster yet, he must give a good impression to the people he will lead later. He will do whatever it is necessary to guide and protect them. Even if it means that he must sacrifice himself.

"I will train your men to reach new height. They will be completely different from before."

The Chieftain sat in silence after hearing Lucas declaration. This human in front of him is really bad at convicing people. But he had no other choice, his village can't hold out againts the next human attack. His people will surely perish this way. The offer that this man give is something that he can't resist, but can he trust him? What will happen if this man is just a spy so the other human that will attack them will know how much strength they have?

The Chieftain sighed, he really left with no other choice. If this human will truly bring salvation to this village, then it's a blessing for them goblins.

"I will give fifty of my people to you, train them however you wish, i will see if what you say is true. Our village will depends on you."

The Chieftain walked down from his throne and stood in front of Lucas. He lifted one of his hand, trying to perform a handshake with Lucas.

"I hear this is what humans usually do after they reached an agreement."

Lucas smiled and shook the Chieftain hand. Even though he have not regained the complete trust of the Chieftain, he will show them what a true soldier looks like. He will show them what it means a 'hellish training' is.

The next day, when the sun just rised, a group of goblins stood in front of a human. They look completely different from the goblins soldier. They don't have the muscles like those goblin soldiers had, some of them are skinny, while some of them even have bloated stomach. They don't have the slightest idea why they were here.

They can't even stand in place for a minute without them disturbing the other goblins.

Lucas shook his head. Why does the quality between the soldier and the civilian is really different? He can't make heads or tail about it. But, a promise is a promise, he will do whatever it is necessary to mold them to his satisfaction.

"Listen up!"

Lucas shouted, his shout stopped the goblins from doing whatever they're doing before, they stood silently while staring at Lucas.

"Do you know why you're here?"

None of the goblins answered. They all looked at each other and looked back at Lucas. But, a single goblins that stood in the back lifted his hand slowly.

"You! What is your answer?"

"I-it's because we're here to be trained?"

Hoo, this goblin is quite smart. He looks pretty young too, he definitely will have a good future in front of him.

"What's your name?"

"It's Rekin, Sir!"

"You're pretty smart, i'll give you that. But don't think because you have answered my question you will be given preferential treatment."

Rekin nodded his head. Lucas grinned and looked at all the goblins standing in front of him. He will train them like those knights he had seen in the movies, they will be a fearsome soldiers after their training ends.

"You are here because you're weak, you can't defend yourself, you eat all day not knowing that your village is doomed."

"While those soldier are working their ass off, you just lay around doing nothing like a bunch of idiots! You're just a burden to this village! You all should just kill yourself!"

The fifty goblins except Rekin stared at Lucas with anger in their eyes. They can't stand being mocked by the human in front of them, if they had weapon beside them, they maybe will run straight up to Lucas and beat him to death.

Luckily, there's guard standing around the training grounds, keeping these goblins in check. While there are some villagers spectating them.

"But i'm here to change that, i will shape your disgusting body to be something that a proper goblins should have. We will throw away those excessive fat in your body. Anyone who survive this training will be one of the best warrior this village have."

Lucas then glanced at one of the goblins guard and nodded. As if the guards already know what to do, a bunch of goblins came over and bought a bunch of wooden sword and short sword over to the training field.

"Now, let the training—begin."

Before that, at night after the talk with the Chieftain. Lucas checked the Emperor System. He didn't have time to check what other function that the system had. He only know that he can check his own stats.

"System, can you tell me what other function that you have?"

[The system has a shop, craft, examine, and inventory function. The name itself is already self explanatory, i believe there's no need for me to explain further]

Lucas nodded his head and checked the shop function. It contains a lot of stuff, ranging from weapons, armor, magic scrolls, weapon forging techniques, building blueprint, training methods, and technological stuff that Lucas doesn't understand . It contained stuff from Earth and this world. All of them can be bought with exp.

"There's even a training method for Spartan? God damn! Don't tell me i will have a legionaries of elves later! That will be awesome!"

Speaking of elves, Lucas started imagining how pretty those females elves is. He really want to see how will they look like. But jokes aside, he must find a proper training method for these goblins.

Because this is Lucas first time using the shop function, the system decided to give Lucas three free training method. One for him and two for the goblins. The name of the training method he gained is called simply [The God of War], it's actually an S ranked training method, how the hell can be be so lucky? He thought he only have three Luck? Well, whatever, it's a good thing for him anyway, why should he complain?

For the traing method for goblins, Lucas got two of them. This training method is not actually limited to the goblins, but they're the only thing that Lucas have, so he can only train them with this. The first one is [Ninjutsu] while the second one is [Jiujitsu].

Both of these are Japanase martial arts. One focuses on stealth while the other focuses on unarmed close combat, though you can still use weapon with them.

Ninjutsu are said to be a martial arts used by the Shinobi that focused on stealth and guerilla warfare. They're pretty good for the goblins because of their short stature. They're perfect to be ninja because they're short and from what he heard, pretty smart too.

Jiujitsu itself is a martial arts practiced by the Samurai. They're a fearsome warrior that do not fear death. Lucas admired the Samurai for their bravery. But can he instill those bravery to the goblins?

Lucas sighed, he just hoped that the goblins result of training turns out to be satisfactory.

--

Back at the training goblins. Most of them had already holding a weapon, mostly a sword resembling a katana and kodachi. This is the weapon that those Shinobi and Samurai use. Lucas is not sure himself, he doesn't know a lot of Japanese ancient weapon, at least he can't remember most of it. Luckily, the system is here, he can just buy it from the system, no need to be thinking hard about it.

Lucas looked at the goblins that's training wholeheartedly, the moves are still clumsy, the fat one can't even move much. It will be a long time before the training to take shape in the goblins. He's wondering what will happen if the goblins did become a village full of Shinobi and Samurai.

Little did Lucas know, the goblins will be one of the feared forces that the Empire of Monster have. Their names will strike fear to their enemies. One will even have to fear their own shadow at night.

Because who knew when will the goblins strike?
