7 Let's divorce

'Husband?'

Heaven's resting soul immediately came back to life as the pair of beautiful dark hazel orbs looked at hers. She knew what her husband looked like from the memories of the original Heaven. She was aware he was handsome and rich, but the latter part was more handsome. That was what she thought.

Dominic Zhu was different in person.

His face was akin to an intricate masterpiece, created with the highest level of meticulousness and carefulness. Seeing him in person and this close was like meeting a celebrity in person; even though she knew what he looked like, there was this huge difference.

She was starstruck.

'What… why does he look so good compared to the memories of the real Heaven?' she wondered, forgetting she was gripping his arm tightly. 'But why does he look angry?'

"Arm."

'Wow… even his voice sounds alluring.'

"Let go," he uttered in a stern and firm voice, putting a halt to her distractive thoughts.

"Ah," Heaven slackened her grip, hearing the commanding tone of the man seated at the edge of the seat beside her. This man happened to be his husband.

He tugged the neckline of his suit, then he leaned back, keeping his expression steely. Dominic glanced at the movie being played on the screen. Coincidentally, it was the same film that Heaven starred in, which granted her the chance to win the Best Actress Award.

'Is she planning to go back to acting?' he wondered, eyes narrowed at the screen before him. It made him forget the current issue at hand.

Little did he know, Heaven didn't blink even once as soon as their eyes met. Her gaze fixated on him, watching his every move from the comfortable seat in the entertainment room.

'Is he for real?' she wondered once more. She suddenly had this urge to poke him, to make sure that she was not dreaming. 'He looks exactly what my dream husband looks like.'

Heaven, or rather, the person inside this body, always wanted to get married and have a family. It was impossible with how her life was being played at that time. But if she would ever marry one, Dominic was the best candidate. He was handsome from every angle; he was also rich and had common sense — according to the memories.

The real Heaven twisted this man's gestures into something else, but from another point of view, one could tell he was responsible. Although he didn't love his wife, he did everything he could to do his duties as her husband.

'Come to think of it. The real Heaven and this man only did it once.' her brain cells froze for a moment, recalling the vague memories the original Heaven had that night of passion. 'Wow. He also has a great body and a big —'

"Let's divorce."

All perverted thoughts that were filling her brain suddenly vanished as soon as those two words rolled out of his tongue. His words were like a gong, ringing it right in front of her ear without a moment's notice.

"Huh?"

"Let's divorce." This time, his voice was firmer than the previous one. Dominic slowly turned his head to face her squarely, showing no sign of hesitation. "Let's do what you always wanted and leave each other alone."

Heaven blinked, confusion written all over her face.

'What did he say? Did he just say di — divorce?' her brain mentally screamed as her eyes went wide, her jaw almost dropping.

Just when she was planning which route to take to win over him and their son, here he was, proposing divorce!

"I've thought long and hard about it," he continued seriously, setting his eyes on the film playing before them. "I do not want my child to be in a broken family. However, it seems a complete family is doing more damage than having separate parents. So, let's divorce."

Dominic took a deliberate pause to look at her once again. "I'll send the documents first thing in the morning. All conditions will be in it, so I advise you to go through them in case I missed something."

With that being said, Dominic planted his hands on his thighs to push himself up. When he was back on his feet, he looked back at her one last time.

"You won. Congratulations on getting back your freedom," Dominic stressed each of his words with slight sarcasm before he marched away, leaving her without giving her a chance to say anything.

All she could do was look at the back of the man who dropped a bomb on her lap.

Heaven was rendered speechless that even when Dominic left the theater room, she blankly stared at the exit. Dominic came like a wind and left like a tornado, leaving her distraught, confused, and bewildered.

"Divorce?" she repeated under her breath before clasping her hair in distress. "Divorce?! Ugh… did I arrive too late?!"

Was Heaven's relationship with him finally reached its boiling point?

Was their marriage irreparable?

Just why, of all times, was he asking for a divorce? Now that she wanted to win him over?

Heaven grumbled and beat herself up at this shocking news. She was aware the original owner of the body was neglectful. Even the soul wouldn't forgive this woman. However, this was all too sudden! At least, for the soul, it was sudden.

She hasn't even spent a day in this body and she was already getting a divorce!

"Ugh… my life is truly full of challenges," Heaven said in an indignant voice. She slumped on the seat after using all her energy in lamenting. "My husband… my dream husband is asking me to divorce — damn you, Heaven, for making their life a living hell! Ugh, my head hurts."

Heaven pursed her lips, thinking of ways to salvage her situation. To be honest, she could just say no. However, she was certain that would make Dominic hate her even more. Dominic tried his best for the past five years. He might've not said it himself, but from the little gestures he had shown the original Heaven, the current Heaven knew it.

It was just that Dominic didn't take credit for his efforts. Perhaps, he knew even if he spelled it out for her, Heaven wouldn't acknowledge a thing.

"I am so done," she frowned, and she also sounded almost at the brink of crying. "Now, I'm back to scratch. No husband, no son, no money. Whoever murdered this woman should've murdered her earlier… huh?"

Heaven slowly sat up, her forehead creased with a deep frown. "Come to think of it. I got murdered last night. I didn't care because I'm alive, anyway. But now that I think about it, if someone tried to kill me…" she trailed off, eyes flickering with alertness as she glanced at the entrance.

"It means someone in this house is capable of murder. Hmm… that's interesting."
