35 Thirty Fifth Chapter
"John..i remember everything." Finna sitting on the couch very distraught.
"Where is Esme then?!" John worried sick. I mean, All Fiction didn't worked, its serious.
Finna shaking her head.
"She's...she's no longer Esme. I believe.." Trying to recall what happened.
"Veronica..." she softly said.
"Veronica? Who is Veronica???" John shot her the question.
"John, what happened to me? I feel..lightheaded."
"Nothing happened. Auntie, tell me, who is Veronica???" John didn't know that Finna became a vampire.
"Please speak slowly John, i think my ears hurt when you speak loudly." Finna requested.
"Hhmm. Auntie, lets talk about Veronica? where is Esme???? im worried, auntie..please."
Finna looks at John, she is having a debate in her head.
"Auntie. Please...Esme is out there...i dont know where she is...if she's fine...if she's hurt or not...Auntie. i am going to die if i dont find her...this is my fault..." Emotional John.
"John...you have to sit down for this..." After consideration, she decided to tell another soul about her Milady.
Meanwhile in Little Italy.
"Bruno, are you sure about this?" Taller than Bruno and lean teenager just spoke in Italian. He got spiky hair and only one ear. Yeah, one ear.
"Giotto, trust me, the boss is a reasonable man."
"Word on the street, he can slap. Real slap." One Ear Giotto face shines. He admires John.
"Let's go to Waldorf. I'll introduce you to the boss."
"Bruno, you're the best." Giotto taps Bruno's shoulder.
"This is why im older than you." Bruno proud.
"But im taller than you."
"Get off!"
"Joke. Elder brother, please, i want to follow the boss too."
"Giotto! we are not mafia. We are a company. Legit company."
"Hey..everything starts legit brother. Dont worry, Boss John will like me." Giotto got lots of confidence.
Shaking his head, Bruno is hopeful for his little brother to follow John too.
"It happened when she was 3 years old." Finna started. She stares at her teacup.
"The House of Rothschild, have grand and illustrious history in hundreds of years. A genius girl would be born in such house."
"Esme."
Finna shakes her head.
"Her name was Catherine." Finna slowly made a smile, she is going through her memories.
"Catherine? Ok. What's this gotta do with Esme being missing?"
"Are you going to make me finish the origin story of Esme, Veronica, Catherine or not?" Finna didnt like getting interrupted.
John shuts up.
"Nothing is wrong with Esme and Veronica. If Veronica is here, nothing can hurt her...them. so listen carefully..."
"Yes maam." John getting impatient but has reason still. Freaking author getting hell bent making me and other characters suffer for the sake of his entertainment.
"Catherine. She was 3 years old when she can converse with adults, do arithmetic, speak not only english, also french, german and italian and dutch, she can paint and most of all, she was pure. A child in a sense, they all pure."
"But when adults came into picture, everything goes unpure. Especially when religion gets involved."
"When the Church knew about Catherine, the Pope declared her as a miracle. Every king and queen, the nobles came to meet the Habsburg Rothschild miracle."
"It was daisy's and sunflower at first. But this world....is not what it seems. It is malevolent, cruel and malicious. Behind the light, darkness hawks over us, waiting to devour us."
"And darkness succeeded, took a hold of Catherine. Took away her innocence. Darkness possessed her. Literal Darkness, John, cloud of dark smoke, i was there. When that happened." Finna stressed the possessed part. She is still having dreams that day.
John is speechless. He dont know where Esme fits in the story.
"And where does Esme or Veronica fit in this story?"
"Veronica, Esme, she is all Catherine."
"What?" John asked, still not getting the flow.
"Boss, multiple personality disorder." The sound of Skynet in his mind.
Booom!
This information froze him.
"Multiple Personality Disorder?"
"Yeah boss."
"Damnit. I..this is...why all fiction dont work?"
"Darkness. Dark smoke. I can infer based on evidences, a demon must be involved."
"Ah.shit. demons! Its two demon events in 2 days! Fuck." John decided if he meets a demon again, he will exact vengeance.
"Auntie, can you tell me more? You know i love Esme. I want to help her, whatever she js doing now."
"I can tell you about Catherine, Bridgette, Henrietta, Veronica and Esme."
"Excuse me?"
"There are 2 more." Finna smiles.
"Shit. 5 in one? Hey." John had this fleeting thought. But threw it down the gutter quickly.
"So Auntie. Do you have a clue where she, they are?"
Finna shakes her head.
When it is all said and done.
John tried all fiction more more more times and Skynet sent thousand flies to surveil but no nothing.
Also, John denied Finna's vampiric nature. In an instant, she got cured.
Following these considerations, Esme, Veronica, Bridgette, Henrietta and Catherine, they all pack up serious punch when they can counter All Fiction.
Sulking for the rest of the day, John did not know that in his office, an imminent danger coming.
