Season 3 Chapter 13

I was sitting on the first bench, staring out of the window, lost in my own world when someone knocked on my desk, I looked up to find a Korean girl who is in an athlete club, she had a huge grin over her. Her short black hair was tied in two pigtails, her well-built body had visible muscles, her fair skin was slightly tanned, and she was taller than average Korean girls, you can say that she has the perfect trained body for playing football. My eyes sparkled with excitement while I wondered why she had approached me, I hoped it was related to the football team. I mean look at her, she would be a perfect member for the team. She already knows how to run fast, just needs to train her with a ball, and she is good to go.

Me: Hi? You are Choon Hee, right? (I stood up stretching my hand) I have heard a lot about you, you the star athlete of our School. (I looked at her with admiration) 

Choon Hee :  I think you are underestimating your own popularity. (She shakes hands with me)

Me: Excuse me? My popularity? (I seemed confused) I think you are somewhere mistaken. I am a new student, hardly anyone knows me.

Choon Hee: Oh come on! Don't lie! (She pouts) That kick was super cool!!! (Her eyes sparkle with excitement) Everyone is talking about you!

Me: (all of a sudden I got flashbacks realising that she was talking about Karl's incident. It was the first time in days that someone has mentioned regarding it) Uhm….(I hesitated) See…I didn't actually mean to hurt him but….(I gulped my spit)

Choon Hee: What are you even saying??! We are so glad that you showed him, his place! (She said while feeling excited) Do you even know, how much we admire you? Well…not all, butttttt …. Everyone from sports clubs except male football team. That guy was a total nuisance for us. He used to mock and harass women sports players, insult male players, arg I always wanted to punch him so badly. (She says rolling her eyes) BUT YOU!!! (she grabs me by my shoulders) YOU DID IT! And today, I came here on behalf of all the athletes, to thank you. Thanks buddy, you are awesome! (She grins) Well, there are people who hate you, so be careful. They are part of 'We love Karl', fanclub.

Me: (I blinked confused) T-Thanks?...I thought….you want to join the football team. (I laughed nervously)

Choon Hee: (her expression turns serious as she leaves me) Why would I?...anyways, I am already happy as a runner….I don't need an extra burden. (She digs her nails on her skin) A-Anyways, I should get going….take care. (her face turned pale after hearing the word football as she goes back to her seat)

I wondered what made her show such emotions. I sighed, seems like it would be a difficult task to make people join this team. During lunch time, I walked down the corridor to grab something to eat, when I noticed Lotte standing outside the Staff room with her hands up. She frowned while pouting and murmuring some curses under her breath, I tried holding back my laugh, and stood in front of her, she stared at my face with anger and coldness.

Me: So, little Lotte loves standing outside staff rooms as punishments, huh? (I grinned)

Lotte: Shut up! And go away! Or else I will make you regret! (She hisses and puts her guards up)

Me: hmm…aren't you hungry? (I asked while taking out a chocolate from my pocket and kneels down in front of her) Want to have it?

Lotte: (she looks away) No! My mom says never to take anything from strangers! (Her stomach growled loudly)

Me: But your stomach says otherwise. (I said laughing while taking out another chocolate) if you want, we can become acquaintances. (I smiled)

Lotte: (she stares at my face for a few seconds before snatching the chocolates from my hands and pouts while opening the wrappers) What do you want? Who is the target? If it's someone big, two chocolates won't be enough.

Me: What do you mean? (I got confused)

Lotte: Come on, I am not stupid. All of you approach me only when you need something. Then treat me like an eyesore after you are done. (She bites her lower lip and stares at me with hatred) They always make me do dirty work, saying that they will give me money, but then after work they don't.

Me: Hmm…(my jaw hardens as I hear her words, there are people who use a kid and ruin her image. I sighed then stood beside her) Who are these people?

Lotte: Karl…Bianca…and Christina. They always make me prank their enemies, and say that they will pay for it, but never did. That's why I pranked Christina that day. (she tried to hide her laugh) Originally Karl was my target, but some idiot got him before me. (She pouts)

Me: (I laughed nervously because the idiot she was mentioning was me, I sighed) You are right…I do need something from you.

Lotte: Uh huh! I knew it! (She smirks) Who is it? And how much will you pay for it?

Me: I want to know more about you, understand you, and become close to you. (I smiled)

Lotte: (her eyes become moist for a second hearing my words then she hardens her expressions) LIAR!!! (She says before pushing me and running away) All of you are liars! I hate you all!

Me: (I stood there sighing) That child has a long path to go before she heals. (I rubbed my forehead)

I went to meet Julie who was having her lunch sitting in the club room, she uses the lunch break to practice football before having food. She stared at my face for a second then looked away, seems like she was still pissed off at my actions but didn't want to speak up regarding it.

Me: (I sat down beside her sighing) Hey.

Julie: What do you want? (She asked cautiously) I didn't tell anyone about you…so I hope you will stop trying to threaten me. (She sighed)

Me: hm…(I stared at the floor blankly) What can you do for this team?

Julie: Anything. (She says confidently)

Me: Then how about giving a chance to those who actually need it? (I asked bluntly )

Julie: What do you mean? (She blinks feeling confused )

Me: We should find those who actually need a second chance to live a better life, than those who are good at playing. You can always train people, but not everyone deserves to play. Those who don't value this game will only cause nuisance and try harming you. So it's better to help those who are struggling. This club should be a place where they can find relief from their past and have courage to move on. (I said in a low tone) I hope, you will shine like a diamond and spread your light to others. There are many people who get pushed towards darkness….so be their light Julie. (I looked at her with sadness in my eyes).
