Season 2 Chapter 19

Year 2008

I was laying on the hotel bed when my phone started vibrating, day before yesterday I reached Paris to meet Louis and Caroline before going to Germany, my main motive was to get my tattoos. Caroline's uncle did a splendid job, and finally I have three tattoos now, two on my arms and one on my neck, but he warned me to keep them hidden until I reach adulthood or else he will face problems. I picked up my phone and stared at the screen for some time, "why is mother calling me at this hour?" I sighed while receiving the call, it was 10 PM at night in Paris, and I felt sleepy after a good dinner.

Me : Hello? (There was an anxious tone from the other side of the phone) Mom? Are you alright? (I got up from bed getting worried)

Anna: Anne….we can't reach out to your aunt Diana since yesterday…..your grandparents are worried….she is not picking up calls, what if she does something to herself…..we are panicking….(her voice sounded broken as if she was crying)

Me: Mom…. Don't worry….she is a woman who is almost 40 years old, she can take care of herself. (I sighed) Am sure she is alright.

Anna: You don't know, she is really impulsive, I am afraid something will happen to her. (Her voice started choking)

Me: What do you want me to do?....(I felt frustrated)

Anna: She said she is going to Paris….you are currently in Paris….so….can you find her? (She said pleading)

Me: Mom, it's 10 PM at night….I am 14….you are asking a minor to search for an worthless adult. (I rubbed my forehead)

Anna: she is your aunt! Anne, please do me this favour….(she hesitates)

Me: Can I keep your credit card? Also can I buy PlayStation 2? (I started getting excited)

Anna: (she pauses for few minutes thinking it through then sighed) alright…you can have them. But, young lady, I don't like the fact that you are misusing the situation. (She sounded pissed)

Me: I love you too mom. (I said giving out a awkward laugh before disconnecting the call)

Taking out my laptop, I hacked my aunt's phone to find her location, this is my new hobby, during the free time after receiving the laptop, I started learning how to hack stuffs, its fun until police catches you. I tracked her location at a nightclub, it was getting late so I called Louis and Caroline hoping they can accompany me, we met near the club, but the main problem was I am underaged, and I don't have any picture of Diana that can help them recognise her, Caroline and Louis somehow managed to get me inside the club, I glanced around finally spotting Diana, she was drinking while sitting next to a male guitarist. The guy seemed to be an Emo in his mind thirties and was Japanese. I walked up to them and tapped on Diana's shoulder, she looked up glancing at me a bit surprised then her expression turned into annoyed.

Me: Mom and Grandparents are worried about you, call them and inform them about your location, and come with me. (I said feeling impatient)

Diana: (she raised her brow staring at me) So my dearest sister sent a little kid to discipline me? (She giggles a bit while giving a quick glance at the man she was speaking with) Sorry, this is a mini headache that my major headache gave birth to. (She laughs loudly)

Me: (I sighed at her childish attitude) Hey, I don't have time for your nonsense, right now, you are the biggest pain in the ass.

Haruki: Uhm Diana, I think you should listen to her, anyways it's getting late, and your family is worried…..(Diana puts her finger against his lip to shut him up)

Diana: shhh….Haru~ don't ruin the mood~ (she said softly while ignoring my presence)

Me: Diana…I will give you final warning, come with me. (I folded my arms crooking my eyebrows)

By now we were slowly getting attention from other people who were there in the club. I wondered how can an adult behave like a nuisance and cause troubles for others? Shouldn't they set examples for children? My patience started running out as I tapped my foot staring at her.

Diana: Oh, so Anna didn't even teach her own daughter to respect adults? Calling your own aunt by her name?! (She bites her lower lip while glaring at me)

Me: Give respect take respect. (I said with a smile)

Diana: Leave, before I ask the bouncer to kick you out. (She says while sipping her alcohol)

Me: (the veins around my forehead protruded, as I hardened my jaw) Alright, don't blame me for whatever comes next. (I said while turning my back and going to meet Caroline and Louis who were waiting for me at some distance) Caroline, do you have a lighter?

Caroline: I do…but Anne, hope you aren't thinking of causing trouble here, or else we will end up in police station. (She hesitates while handing over her lighter)

I ordered an alcohol bottle and asked the bartender to take money from Diana later, then walked up to Diana and poured the contain on her head, and took out the lighter, while smiling at her.

Diana : (she stands up furious) What the heck! (She was about to grab me but I jumped back lighting up the lighter while threatening to put her on fire) Anne….keep that away….(she hesitates) be a good girl.

Me: I am an ill-mannered bitch. (I smiled while moving the lighter closer towards her)

By now everyone were staring at us, many were horrified, the bouncer started advancing towards us, the night was already ruined, and she didn't have much choices left.

Diana: Alright….I am coming with you. (She kisses Haru's lips before paying the bill then grabs me running out of the club as fast as possible) YOU ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT!!!!

We ran to some extent before she starts getting out of breathe, her feet hurts due to heels as she takes them off while panting and sweating, on the other hand I looked perfectly fine, "Old age" I thought to myself, it was already midnight and less people were around. I was sleepy and my stomach growled due to hunger.

Diana: Didn't have dinner? (She raises her brow)

Me: Got digested thanks to someone. (I pouted while walking)

Diana: (she facepalmed) How can Anna send a little kid to find me? I am an adult jeez! (She sounded frustrated) is she out of her mind?....Let's go and find something to eat before you drop dead. (She rolled her eyes)

Me: Thanks, but I can control my hunger. (I pouted)

Diana: Do you hate me that much? (She sighed)

Me: Sure if that makes you happy, but in reality I don't even give a fuck about you. (I yawned)

Diana: Damn jeez, the perfect Anna's daughter using bad words. This is fun. (She laughs sarcastically)

Me: Using bad language doesn't necessarily mean that a person is genuinely bad, and using sugar coat words doesn't mean that person is made of sugar. (I put a chewing gum in my mouth and started chewing on it)

Diana: Jeez….your philosophies…do you know how much I hate you? Because of you, Angela doesn't speak with me anymore. (She bites her lower lip frustrated)

Me: Don't blame others after fucking up, you are the creator of your own miseries, be an adult and learn to accept your faults. (I rolled my eyes)

Diana : What do you know?...Do you even understand how it feels like being ignored by your own parents while your sibling gets all their attention? (She eyes sparkled with tears)

Me: Ya…I don't understand. (I gave a sarcastic smile) so that was your boyfriend huh? Does Grandparents knows about him?

Diana : (she wipes her tears) No…because I know that they won't accept him, he doesn't earn much and is financially unstable.

Me: They accepted dad when he has nothing, so why they won't accept your boyfriend? (I looked confused)

Diana: Because Douglas was their beloved daughter's lover and they are blind towards her. (She said in a sarcastic manner) Anna can never be wrong and I can never be right.

Me: I think you are just overthinking, stop assuming and start speaking up your mind. (I rolled my eyes)

Diana : Easier said than done. (She rubbed her forehead feeling annoyed) I pity you, being the daughter of Miss Perfect, must be hard, right?

Me: Why so bitter? You keep on comparing yourself with mom, that's the reason why you fell behind, you are unique, be yourself. If you have problems, learn to communicate, though I should be the last person to lecturing you, but you are really frustrating. Be more mature, you are annoying. (I sighed)

Voice : Hey ladies, hand over your money to me. (We turned back noticing a robber with a knife in his hand).

Before I could do something, Diana threw her heels at the man's face which made him get distracted then kicked his main point hard, the robber fell on his knees screaming in pain as his knife dropped from his hand, Diana swing her bag hitting the man's head knocking him out as I stood there blinking my eyes trying to process everything.

Diana : (she ties up her hair) You know what? Maybe I will listen to your advice for a change. (She smirks looking at me)

Me: What do you carry in your bag? (I felt impressed)

Diana: Stones. (She says while tiding herself) Let's eat something, I am hungry.
