Chapter 24: I’ll Kill those Onions

I was drifting deeply within my dream and it was very dark but there was something beyond this darkness which made me look for it. I am looking for something until some light begins to lighten my path. Slowly, I noticed that I was floating since the fluffy clouds were surrounding me and it was nice. I was enjoying the scenery when I saw a very spectacular out of this world floating island with tons of thin bridges connecting different realms. I was awed when I was suddenly being pulled down by some harsh wind. It was swirling protectively at me and the next thing I knew I could feel the moist grassy ground. I looked around like a curious but wary kid about the new surroundings.
"What is this place?" I asked as I was surprised again on seeing such a peaceful world where every creature dwelled in such serene life. It was indeed magical and utopia.
But those peacefulness shifted into something I never anticipated before. I saw a familiar figure which exactly looked like Ceres and she was covered with blood. I was about to call out to her but I halted when I saw how deadly she could be. Her face was full of hunger and madness like her cheekbones were strong and her forehead seemed like glaring while her fangs showed as she smirked from killing her prey. I was stunned into what I was seeing even though this was just a dream, I could also feel that it wasn't.
'This is your mate, young wolf when hunger got the best of her. She was just a rogue that was falling deeply into her own madness. She was lost as everything she had left was taken away from her.'
"Goddess…" I just whispered when I heard the moon goddess alluring and calming voice while my eyes were still glued on the bloody massacre scene that I am seeing.
'My dear young wolf, remember that not every fallen rogue wanted to fall into their madness. Most of them choose to fall while some were being forced and some were just being lost.'
"And Ceres?" I asked since I wasn't sure about what I am seeing right now. She was a killing machine with no one dared to stop her and I wanted to help her but I couldn't. This was one of her past.
'She chose to be either. She showed me that she could take every pain of life and still maintained her sanity. But at the same time she also showed me that she could be in her hysteria if needed…'
"That's why you blessed her." I concluded what the moon goddess was trying to whisper to me while showing me this side of Ceres that I never knew.
'The power that I gave her will be awakened only when she's with her other half. And it was you, my beautiful young wolf, Frizabelle Marshall.'
"Do you think that I could help her?" I asked as I worried if I would be able to snap her when she's in her fallen state.
'Have faith in your love for each other. Have faith in Ceres and especially, your love for her. Just, faith.'
I was about to ask the moon goddess some more when suddenly everything was being blown away and I woke up from my cold sleep in the tub.
Monday - morning
5:55 am.
"That was something…" I mumbled to myself but I suddenly sneezed. Gosh, I would never sleep on the water ever again.
'Then let's mark our mate!'
"Shut up, Lena. I'm not horny dog." I sighed as I stood up from the tub and drained all the water in it.
'Who said about being horny? All I am trying to say is that we will know if we mark her plus it's a win-win situation, duh.'
"Still, Lena, it's not right to mate with her because we want something. It's better to make love without asking for anything aside from love." I countered Lena who just agreed with me while I dried myself with some prepared towels and clothes on the counter top cabinet of our undergarments.
'She went and prepared these for us.'
"I know. Her scent was everywhere in the bathroom." I agreed with Lena who was grinning from ear to ear like she was excited over something which I don't want to know right now.
I got out from the bathroom and went to my desk to check all my things for school. As I was checking and preparing my school stuff, my nose suddenly twitched which almost made me sneeze. But what made me smile was that Cere's loving arms began to wrap around my waist and kissed the side of my forehead.
"Morning." Ceres greeted me lovingly which made me stop from preparing my things and faced her.
"Morning." I greeted back as I wrapped my arms around her neck and gave her a small kiss onto her lips.
"I kinda like that idea of having this every morning." Ceres teased but her eyes were dreamy about what she just said.
"Oh please, we're just getting used to this." I told her and pulled her closer so I could kiss her lips again.
'Lovely, mate.'
We chuckled in between our kisses when we both heard Lena said that she was so happy.
"Shall we make some breakfast as a reward for both of us from enduring the heat last night?" Ceres asked as she looked at me longingly which I just smiled upon on.
"We shall, but in the next heat…" I was about to say something when she beat me to it.
"We're already married by then." Ceres suddenly said which made me stop from walking while holding her hands.
Ceres looked worried and confused at me since I was feeling the heat crept out from my cheeks when she said it like that. I covered my face and walked ahead of her. I was embarrassed.
'You okay, my queen?'
"Y-yeah…" I answered through our link which I am not sure if it was convincing or not. Gosh, I was caught off guard from it.
'Please tell me…'
"I'm just taken by surprise that's all. Let's get going and prepare breakfast." I answered her as we both walked downstairs toward the kitchen.
As we got there, I can tell that Ceres was smirking while getting all the ingredients that she'll be cooking while I'm just gonna assist her if I can. Well, she moves smoothly in the kitchen whenever she's in it. She loves to cook even though she's a vampire.
"Belle, please cut those bacon and hotdogs into half." Ceres instructed me while she was cutting some onions and beating some eggs.
"How many?" I asked while I was cutting bacon and hotdogs in an alternate way.
"How many do you think?" She thought for a second while smirking which I knew right away why she was smirking like that.
"Hmm...there's no thinking about it, Mine." I teased as I winked at her and I can definitely say that she blushed over that wink. Love it.
"You bet." She just chuckled and kept cutting those onions which invaded my eyes since she was cutting next to me.
"Mine, I'll kill those onions if you cut them slowly." I playfully told her as I tried to control not to cry because of those stupid onions.
"Oh no! Don't be a killer of onions, Belle. Please, I am begging you." Ceres said while laughing which made me do the same.
"Speaking of being a killer, I dreamed of you and your bloody past." I suddenly said as I recalled my dream which made her stop for a little while then looked at me.
"Bloody past, you mean the time I was in my hysteria?" Ceres asked me to clarify it to me which I just nodded.
"So, what did you think when the moon showed you that?" Ceres asked with her careful tone like she was ready to be hurt by me again. Hearing that from her tone made me stop from chopping and smacking the back of her head before resuming what I am doing.
"What's that for?" She whined while giggling and continued chopping. This time it was the onions; it was some cherry tomatoes and basils.
"Stop sounding like I am going to reject you. And to answer your question, I really wanted to help you when I was watching it. I really do and it hurts me seeing you in pain." I told her as I'm still working that I didn't expect that she would hug me from behind and kissed my left cheek.
"Ceres?" I asked since I could feel the wetness on my shoulder where her face hid.
"Ceres." I called her again in calm manners which made her put her chin on my shoulder. I smiled and kissed her cheek where I could taste her tears.
We stayed like that for a few more seconds before going back to work and I can tell a pair of eyes watching us in such amusement.
"Mom, help us here instead of watching there." I said while moving around the kitchen since Ceres told me to arrange the plates on the breakfast nook.
"Oh please, you can handle them already plus. It's lovely to see my daughter finally smiling." Mom said as she finally stepped foot in the kitchen but just sat on the barstool and watched us do all the cooking.
"I have been smiling before, Mom." I groaned while getting all the utensils on some drawers and cabinets before putting on the table.
"I know but the smile you're showing now, is the sign of love." Mom said with gladness in her tone which I can't argue back and just sigh. I shook my head slightly which made Ceres kiss my forehead as she handed me the cooked omelet at each plate.
"Sweetness in the morning made me need my black coffee." Dad said as he entered the kitchen followed by the other pack members.
"And who told you to get them? Go upstairs and clean yourself up." Mom ordered Dad which he just groaned but followed my mother's instructions which some of the pack members laughed at it.
"25 laps on the training field." Dad said in his alpha voice though I knew that he was embarrassed being whipped by my mother. Funny couple, that's what they are.
'My queen, tone down your thoughts. You're Mom might hear them.'
"Can she do that?" I was shocked by Ceres' revelation to me while we kept moving around the kitchen.
'Only if the thoughts were too loud and only if she's reading you.'
"Ceres, I can hear that." Mom said which made Ceres jolted a bit before smiling awkwardly at her before giving her omelet with mushroom gravy sauce on it. I wonder what it tastes like.
Anyway, after having those fun breakfasts, I never realized that I felt light and happy until Ceres wrapped her arms around my waist before kissing my cheeks. Then we went out to the front porch and there's my motorbike. Dark was waiting for me. I can tell Ceres, put it there.
"I'll drive you to school but I'll be home early since I have to take care of something." Ceres told me as she lent me my helmet.
"Should I know what it could be?" I asked as I put the helmet on as she hopped on Dark and prepared the engine.
"Hm, don't worry it doesn't concern you but if something changes, I'll tell you immediately." Ceres answered as she put the spare helmet that I have after she started the engine.
"Okay, be careful of whatever you're going to do and tell me about them later." I told her calmly as I expected her to explain them to me after I got back from school.
"Oh, I will, my queen." Ceres chuckled as I hopped on her back and wrapped my arms around her waist tightly. Safety reason.
"Shall we go now?" She asked if I am already set-up at her back which I just nodded at then we're off to school.

As we got to school, I took her to the locker area where the others stayed for awhile before I left them there since I have to file an undertime excuse. I have personal matters that I have to attend to which are in the pack house. But before I went back to the pack, I had something to do at school first and just leave at lunch time.
"Vincent, tell Yume and the others to keep my mate occupied for a little while before going home later. And before I forgot, tagged along with me at lunch we're going somewhere." I linked Vincent since I was his master which he agreed on though I can tell that he was wondering why I said that.
He didn't know the reason but he will because I also need his help over this one.
