Chapter 11: Level Up!

Chapter 11: Level Up!

After a moment of awkward silence, the soldier quickly brandished his sword unleashing a barrage of sword strikes at Tai Xin.

They were a little startled looking at Tai Xin's face Nonetheless immediately regained their composure.

They thought of Tai Xin's condition as a mutation. Though the mutations present in the people in catacombs weren't this exaggerated and disturbing it didn't affect them too much, as a soldier they had already seen too much.

The soldier with the sword tried to kill Tai Xin with a single strike by launching a slash at his head. Even though this soldier had a lot of experience due to all the battles he had in the battlefields he failed to land the strike. It wasn't like Tai Xin was faster than him, it was the opposite. He was way slower than the soldier yet he was able to dodge the strike perfectly.

*Esbe tejaf gwaj fuke?* (Was that a fluke?)

The soldier once again launched his strike this time channeling all his strength and aura, in his sword. Yet the result was the same.

'If my senses are right he should be present at the peak of level 2. So how's he able to dodge my attacks? A level 20's attacks?' Even if he hadn't focused on agility and only on strength there still was a big gap left for Tai Xin to cover. Then how was he able to do this?

In that split second a dagger appeared in Tai Xin's palm. He seemed to have removed this from his knees underneath his clothes.

The soldier looked at his companions immediately commanding them to brandish their weapons.

One of them used a rapier while the other wielded a spear. They both quickly dashed toward Tai Xin thrusting their spear and rapier simultaneously but both attacks were dodged by Tai Xin.

Tai Xin on the other hand immediately rolled on the ground towards the exit of the cabin.

Realizing what Tai Xin was trying to do the soldier with the sword quickly dashed toward Tai Xin, while launching a barrage of slashes.

Tai Xin quickly covered his dagger with mana blocking the first slash. As a result, cracks appeared on the dagger.

'Damn it! I should quickly awaken my aura too!' Unlike Mana, the aura was more explosive and built to aid in physical strength.

Using mana one could create an outer shield, but with Aura one could immediately protect their internal parts. It wouldn't even take a second to do that.

Tai Xin's eyes once again focused on those sword strikes that were coming towards him slicing through the air.

Further strengthening his grip on the dagger Tai Xin quickly stood up, accurately calculating the trajectory of the strikes and dodging them.

Though his body couldn't keep up with his brain as he managed to dodge most of the lethal slashes, some managed to leave a bloody scar on his body.

'Shit!' Cursing inwardly under his breath Tai Xin once again tried to retreat inching closer towards the exit with every passing second.

To his despair, as he once again looked at the exit with the help of a corner of his eye, Tai Xin spotted the two other soldiers immediately rushing towards him to kill Tai Xin.

Just as Tai Xin decided to retaliate while using his original strategy of rolling and passing through small gaps to quickly escape exhaustion came hitting his body.

Mana exhaustion?!

Tai Xin quickly dodged the two incoming thrusts however the sword strike from behind him didn't plan on showing any mercy.

However, in that instance, the sword strike just passed through his body. From the soldier's point of view, Tai Xin just disappeared as if he was something that shouldn't even have existed, a mere illusion.

'Is this your doing Ye Xiong?' Tai Xin questioned.

"Yes." Replied Ye Xiong with a smile. "Two weaklings battling. It would have been so predictable that the stronger weakling would have won, after all the stronger weakling has companions who are stronger than the second weakling. I thought it would be much more interesting if the weaker weakling would win."

Even though Ye Xiong was belittling Tai Xin he didn't care about it currently. His goal was survival, but listening to Ye Xiong he had another plan. And that was to kill the soldiers.

'Looks like this mask is affecting me. Argh! Let's just proceed!' Tai Xin thought in frustration as he quickly appeared behind the soldier who was wielding the sword.

As if understanding what Tai Xin was trying to do Ye Xiong quickly deactivated his skill.

"Why are you helping him, Ye Xiong?!"

"Because helping him is less boring than doing nothing and talking with you."

"You!" As their argument continued, it did affect Tai Xin a little Nevertheless his focus was completely on the task in front of him.

Tai Xin twisted his leg and turned his body to gain more momentum on the strike.

The soldier with the sword reacted a split second later which was equivalent to his death as Tai Xin's dagger already pierced through the joint of the armorur near the neck.

Spurt!

"Argh!" The soldier groaned as blood started to sweep through the joint. He had already launched his sword strike which was about to slice Tai Xin's neck.

'At least I will take this monster with me.' To his despair, Tai Xin suddenly disappeared as his sword just sliced through thin air.

Next instance Tai Xin once again reappeared beside him grabbing the dagger and twisting it. Blood splattered through the joint covering Tai Xin's face with it.

*Uais yeia Aha!* "Aha are you okay!"

All of this happened within a split second due to which the other two soldiers weren't given time to react at all.

When they realized what had happened they quickly rushed toward their companion to save him. Unfortunately, it was already too late.

Tai Xin once again twisted the already cracked dagger which couldn't handle it anymore. The blade broke into shards going deep into the soldier's neck.

Tai Xin immediately felt the veins in his body budge up as it was filled with energy.

Now that he possessed more mana to complete the inscriptions of the spell it wouldn't take nearly as long as he expected it to.

Abruptly Tai Xin twisted his upper body dodging the incoming spear. Bending his body slightly he picked up the sword that was dropped by the soldier.

Terror lighting style!

First form!

Lightning-fast strike!

The sword suddenly disappeared. It literally disappeared reappearing near the soldier's neck.

Fortunately, he was able to react at the right time placing his spear in front of his neck.

As a result, the collision of the tip of the sword and the spear produced a dull clank sound.

*Raeaja akgsns helllada!* 'What the hell!'

He couldn't believe that this person with a deformed face suddenly became so fast!

The soldier with the rapier also rapidly thrust his rapier toward Tai Xin, who was constantly blocking it with his terror lightning style.

It was to be noted that Tai Xin was just a level 5 player. His slashing speed had already matched a level 20's, and even if they didn't focus on the aspect of speed it was still very terrifying. Moreover, Tai Xin was only performing the first form, which was incomplete on top of that.

If someone came to know about this their imagination would definitely run wild.

...

Huff! Huff!

Tai Xin panted heavily as he looked around him. Currently, his deformed face was covered with blood.

He had killed the other two soldiers in the meantime as a result he got a total of 8,354 Exp.

Tai Xin looked around at the three dead bodies. Realization hit him.

I... I killed humans... It just felt like when I killed NPCs of calamity online, or at least that's what I expected it would feel like.

Tai Xin felt a little guilty. He expected that he would feel nothing, but he did.

"You aren't of this world are you?" Abruptly Ye Xiong said bringing Tai Xin out of his thoughts.
