78 I'm Invincible!

=====

Arriving at the house, Jonathan and Martha took cover inside, their two sons looked ready to fight, and the atmosphere was tense. The couple wore worried expressions, holding onto each other's hands tightly.

"Clark used that evil stone."

"David said it's like making a deal with the devil, what should we do?"

Fear surged in Martha's eyes.

David and Clark had talked to them about the Wishing Stone.

An entire class of students collectively lost a memory segment, and it's impossible for the parents not to know about it.

"Is that cursed ring affecting Clark because of that stone?"

Jonathan clenched his teeth, making guesses based on the limited information.

The idea of a stone that grants wishes at will sounded extremely absurd, but after their son talked about finding the diary of a magician and experiencing firsthand the miraculous metal that brought people back to life and gave never-ending vitality, it didn't seem so far-fetched.

After David told them about the events, the couple easily accepted it.

"Enough, don't talk to me like that. I'm the older brother!"

Clark erupted in anger, displaying a different demeanor than before. Terrifying power erupted, cracking the ground underneath as he threw punches at David.

"Even if you're not entirely yourself right now, your annoying attitude still makes me want to teach you a good lesson, Clark!"

David's gaze hardened, and cosmic energy surged throughout his body, releasing a formidable oppressive aura like a raging sea.

With the increase in integration, the rate of his energy amplification increased as well, helping his speed reach nearly ten times the speed of sound.

'However, Clark is clearly faster!'

David couldn't track the trajectory of Clark's fist; he could only vaguely see him coming at lightning speed, like a missile, causing the air to solidify under the impact of his speed.

In a flash of lightning, he threw a punch, releasing raging cosmic energy, forming a storm of energy nearly one person's height that could melt steel.

'Can't match the speed, then I'll just expand the impact radius!'

Bang!

A terrifying high temperature, capable of evaporating steel, rushed over. Clark sneered, disappeared ahead of the purple torrent, reappeared in another direction, and struck David's face with a powerful punch.

"You underestimate the current me too much!"

The red kryptonite-altered Clark had changed his combat style, no longer charging recklessly but using a more threatening approach.

Bang!

Shockwaves rolled, fierce winds swept hundreds of meters, and the earth trembled under tremendous power.

Jonathan and Martha hid behind the house dozens of meters away, unable to open their eyes, their faces pale as they covered their mouths, hearts in their throats.

"Is that so?"

The terrifying kinetic energy, equivalent to thousands of tons of explosives, was completely absorbed. David stood still, his other fist charging cosmic energy for impact.

Hum!!

Like crashing waves, Clark was suddenly blasted away, flying for over a hundred meters. He struggled to stand up, his chest red and burning with intense pain.

"Too many words. You want to show off to me?"

David's expression turned icy cold, constantly releasing energy beams. Clark's figure flashed around him, desperately dodging.

He spoke differently now, but because he wanted to taunt him, he slowed down deliberately, giving Clark a chance.

'A drastic change in personality results in new weaknesses.'

It would be better as it used to be, at least that can be said due to being too kind. Now it seemed a bit lame, lacking other excuses.

"You, now, seem like a third-rate villain!"

"Shut up! How dare you say that to me, you Earthling, you have no idea how powerful my talent is!"

David's mockery ignited Clark's rage. His dodging figure rushed toward David.

The force of his punch could cleave an aircraft carrier, rainstorm-like, aiming at David with a hot gaze that could cut through anything.

His arrogant tone, and despicable character, made him feel like he was facing Superman's doppelganger, Ultraman. David's expression turned cold as he channeled his energy manipulation to the extreme, absorbing Clark's attacks, occasionally shooting rays from his eyes or hands, trying to block Clark's dodging path.

Although Clark hit David most of the time, he was growing more frantic.

Clark realized that his attacks were barely affecting David.

And David, although he needed to release more than a dozen strikes to hit Clark once, it brought him pain and injury.

"No, you're just a mere native of a backward planet that can't even achieve interstellar travel. How could you ever match up to me?" (T/N: This was so cringe to translate, oof)

Clark roared, with strong injustice and resentment filling his eyes.

He needed power!

His emotions surged, he swung his fist in frustration, and his body emitted a growing force.

Feeling the increasingly violent kinetic energy being absorbed, David frowned. While it was far from injuring him, it was still an unfavorable trend.

"Feel it, right?

In the past, I was too weak, always anxious about this power, about my own identity, worrying about this and that."

The force in his punches surpassed one after another, a fiery intensity gleamed in Clark's eyes, and he laughed arrogantly.

"But now I'm not the original me.

The potential of my body far exceeds your imagination."

He wildly swung his fists, the strength in his punches erupting like a volcano, possessing unimaginable power.

If it weren't for David's efforts at absorbing all the kinetic energy, the surrounding ground would have cracked, and the clear tremors could be felt for miles.

Even so, the fierce wind stirred up by their punches made several houses on the farm sway like wild grass in the wind.

"Oh my god..."

Jonathan had to grab his wife and move far away, retreating behind a hillside.

Both watched their two sons fighting, their faces filled with shock.

Explosions of white shockwaves, deafening roars, as if two monsters were fighting.

Their speed was so fast that only residual images could be seen, missing energy rays turning the earth into molten lava. It was like a battle of two gods.

Jonathan anxiously looked around. Fortunately, the surroundings were all part of his farm; otherwise, they would have been seen by others. But if this commotion continued, wouldn't it attract people from nearby?

"That's enough!"

David tried several times to grab Clark's hand and use energy rays to vaporize the red kryptonite.

However, his speed was somewhat lacking in comparison, and Clark seemed to know that if he took off the ring, he would revert to his weak self. He had been deliberately guarding and evading.

The tremendous noise caused by their scuffle had been going on for a while. If it continued, the house and warehouse at home might collapse. David angrily shouted, no longer holding back against Clark.

"Anyway, you can heal even if you get injured!"

David's eyes emitted rays, his hands releasing energy blasts continuously, like a barrage of concentrated attacks that increased the pressure on Clark. Dodging became increasingly difficult for him, and the paths for counterattacks were gradually blocked, leaving only one in front of him.

But just as Clark was losing ground, David's energy blasts grew weaker, like a faucet running out of water.

"Not enough, David. You haven't fully recognized your identity!"

A heated energy beam they briefly exchanged suddenly became evenly matched. A cold smile played on Clark's lips as he realized something, and he lunged forward with a punch.

That's right, there's no way this guy's energy projection ability, even stronger than his own, could be limitless!

"Your energy won't sustain your squandering!"

With a punch, he shattered an incoming but weaker energy blast, and Clark reached David, raising his fist high.

"Without annoying energy pulses and with your sluggish movement speed, how can fight me?"

Red glints shimmered in his eyes. David's unreserved energy release had finally depleted his own energy.

"Kneel down!"

Boom!

"My energy comes from the sun above.

As long as the sun doesn't set, I'm invincible!"

His fist was caught, and Clark, who thought victory was assured, didn't care at all.

He laughed wildly, his mouth stretching open, his expression somewhat sinister. He triggered a full-power heat vision release, his eyeballs shining like red-hot iron balls, the blood vessels around his eye sockets also illuminated.

Zoom!

David's eyes shot out purple rays in response.

Zoom zoom zoom!

Red and purple clashed violently, their terrifying energies colliding and annihilating each other.

The purple rays began to fade.

Just as Clark thought he was about to gain the upper hand in a field where David was stronger, a violent burst of purple brilliance erupted in front of his eyes. It was as if scalding hot water had been injected into his eye sockets.

"Ah!"

Suddenly, the energy beams shot from David's eyes intensified several times, like a raging torrent overwhelming a small flame. They blasted directly into Clark's eyes.

He covered his eyes in agonizing pain and staggered back.

"My eyes."

"You despicable bastard!"

Clark yelled in extreme disarray.

"Are you, a thief who turned evil long ago and disguised yourself for a day just to steal from me, have any face to call me despicable?"

David's expression remained unchanged. He once again shot energy rays towards the ring on Clark's finger.

A precise hit.

The ring that Clark had bought and worn for a day, with the red kryptonite embedded in it, was incinerated, and evaporated, disappearing from Clark's hand.

"No!..."

His hand felt a burning sensation, and Clark reached out to grasp something, but it was too late.
