15 Spending Time with the Male Protagonist

My birthday had come and gone as time flies by. There hadn't been any monster expeditions after the last expedition where the Wings of the Phoenix knights at the duke and little duke themselves hunted down a pack of snow wolves from the north.

Vladford had spending his time almost everyday with me. Because winter was nearly here and it was cold outside, we have mainly stayed indoors.

In this kind of weather, I loved spending my time reading books in the library while drinking hot cocoa. It was a somewhat cold morning and I was alone in the library trying to find a book to read.

It is a pity that refining coffee beans are not yet a thing in this world. I miss drinking my cup of coffee in times like this.

"Hot or iced , I would die to drink some coffee." I whined. "Oh, I remember seeing some coffee beans when I was in our estate in the capital. Maybe it is not a lost cause after all." I said.

I tried looking at the row of books for plants in the library. Fortunately I found what I was looking for. It was a good thing that my father had stacked this library with not only novel books that I love to read in my pass time but also books with information as well.

"In this world there are no Netflix or Disney+…" I said with a sad tone. "… and so I usually read romance and adventure novels. Fortunately, there are good authors in this world."

I initially planned on reading a new novel today but diverted my plans to looking into the coffee beans.

I read the section about the coffee beans and found out that the coffee beans are usually found in the south of the main continent. It was lucky that my father's territory in the Draconian Empire was in the south.

"So that is why I remember seeing coffee plants." I remembered it from Rosaline's memory. "If I am not mistaken there are wild coffee plants in one of my father's territories and seeing as they are many, it can be turned into a plantation." I said to myself.

I was so immersed with the book that I was surprised when I felt arms wriggled around my waist.

"Ahhh…" I squealed in surprise. I can hear the voice of chuckling behind me. "V-Vlad!" I scolded.

"I am sorry, I did not mean to scare you my lady." Vladford was trying to suppress his chuckling. "But your squeal was something I would ask to hear everyday." He said with a naughty grin.

"Hey, stop teasing." I scolded him. "And you! You should have given me a heads up."

*ARF*

Van was at a corner sitting and minding his own business. The small Fenrir pup has now grown into a huge wolf in a span of four years. He has been with me as a protector of sorts because of his huge physique.

"Well, he trusts me." Vladford said with a grin. "And I trust that he is being good boy being a guard dog to my future wife." His arms wrapped around me more tightly into a hug. His chin nestled into my shoulders and he sighed.

"Did something happened?" I asked.

"Nothing but the usual." Vladford replied.

Since he became twenty, his father had been including him in the usual weekly morning court where they meet with the vassal leaders and talk about the happenings in the duchy.

"I know you, Vlad." I said. "You wouldn't sigh like that if there isn't a problem."

"I can't really keep anything from you, could I?" Vladford replied with a smile. "Let me recharge first, then I will tell you."

I know what Vladford means about recharging. After we had confessed each others feelings to one another, he started to be more intimate with me. The time that we spent with each other alone is more of cuddling with each other.

Vladford and I took our usual spot by the window. I have a huge bean bag there and we usually spend our time sitting there and cuddling. After I took my seat, Vladford was instantly behind me and had his warms wrapped around my waist. He had his chin nestled neatly on my shoulder as if it were natural.

"Hah…" Vladford sighed in relief. "This is more like it." He said with a smile.

"Did something happened in this morning's court?" I asked.

"Hmm…" Vladford nodded to affirm my suspicion." It is said that someone or something has been devastating the farm animals in the east of the duchy."

"What kind of devastation?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Livestocks have gone missing. Fences have been destroyed and some caged were ransacked." Vladford replied. "And there were sighting of goblins by the borders."

"Goblins?" I was surprised. "This far west?"

Goblins are a type of fiend that are tricksters and are menacing. They are little green men with pointy ears and sharp tooth. They are not usually strong but in groups they are quite menacing to deal with.

Goblins are usually find in dense forests. The nearest forest that I know of where these goblins dwell os the Giant Forest in the Draconian Empire. It borders the east part of the duchy of Heathfield. The Giant Forest is called as such because of the giant trees that are found only there. It is a place few people have ever wondered into and it was because there are many kinds of fiends that made it as there home.

"They do now usually come out of the Giant Forest." I said. "What could have happened?" I wondered.

"There was also a letter coming from the Draconian Empire." Vladford said. "It is said that fiends have started to exit the forest and we have talks of sending an expedition to exterminate these fiends and another group to investigate the Giant Forest itself."

'Is it something relating the the game?' I was deep in thought.

I know that the game's starting scenario is just around the corner, but I cannot remember any specific about the Giant Forest itself.

"They are thinking of starting the expedition when spring comes by next year, after winter had passed." Vladford said. "I was planning to have our wedding by that time." He said with sad puppy dog eyes.

'Oh… he is so adorable.' I internally squealed. 'He is sulking because our wedding will be postponed because of this expedition."

"There is no helping it." I said while tapping his head. "Why don't we plan it after new year's if we can hasten the preparations?" I said.

"I will ask my father." Vladford replied. "The preparations are underway so I guess it is not a big deal to hasten them a little." He smiled sweetly.

The preparations of the wedding has always been the groom's side of the family's handling. It has been a custom here in this world. My father will only be tasked on preparing the most beautiful wedding dress that I will wear for the ceremony.

"I cannot wait to have you as my wife." Vladford said. His eyes were looking at me intensely that I felt like I will melt under his gaze.

Vladford's face inched nearer to mine until I can feel his warm breath. Then his lips landed on my. I can taste something sweet on his lips and it just made me to want to taste more. Our lips went more deeper and I could feel his tongue find its way inside my mouth. It was feeling inside my mouth, exploring every inch it can.

I felt my body getting hot in this cold weather. I was layered into many clothing for the winter and it was like I want to take it all off with the heat that I was feeling.

Vladford's hands started to explore my body. His big strong hands started to unbutton the outer layer of my dress. When that had come off, he had his hands over the laces of my inner garments.

*CLACK CLACK*

We heard something thrown on the window we were sitting under.

"V-Vlad…" I said when I got the chance to get away from his lips. "T-There is someone outside."

Vladford 's lips were now trailing down my neck unto my nape. I felt ticklish with his not so evident stubble beard.

"Do not worry , they won't see us." Vladford continued his descent unto my cleavage.

The library was at the second floor and to have something hit the window I would think of little stones being thrown.

*CLACK CLACK CLACK*

The sound had began to get harder. I was thinking that rather than small stones, small rocks are being hit.

"V-Vlad…" I called. "If we do not answer, I am afraid they will break the window glass."

"Haaahhh!" Vladford sighed in annoyance. He opened the window in a fit of irritation. "What is it?!" He yelled in annoyance.

"You two have been holed up since forever!" Hilna's voice yelled. "Do you plan on being holed up with Rose until new years?!"

"That would be a great idea!" Vladford yelled.

"Hey!" Hilna yelled in irritation. "Don't monopolize Rose by yourself!"

"Hah… if you just knew how I wish that." Vladford whispered that only both of us can hear.

"Come now, Vlad…" I heard Jacob. He was with Hilna. "You know you will not hear the end of it. Just come out with Rose, will you?"

"Hah…" Vladford said. "Fine, fine. We will be down in a few."

I giggled knowing that somehow Hilna and Jacob missed our company. Vladford and I have been holed up in my estate for the couple of weeks now.

I regained my composure and tried to button up my clothes once more.

"Here, let me help you." Vladford said.

"It is like you do not want to go?" I asked teasingly.

"If you ask me, I only wanted it to be the two of us alone." Vladford replied. "But in a good side, I was able to stop because of Hilna's annoyance a while ago. I need to hold back more." He gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Well, let's not keep them waiting." I said.

Vladford stood up and lent me a hand to stand. I left the book I was reading in the bookshelf I took it from. Vladford was waiting by the door and offered his hand when I was near. I took it and he pulled me into his arms suddenly.

"You look so beautiful." Vladford said with his eyes glued on mine. I blushed hearing his endearing words.

"T-Thank you." I replied shyly.

If this is how the male protagonist loves his female love interest, then I really wished I could be that person. Sadly I am not. And so I am relishing in this moment of happiness while my heart is conflicted with the thoughts of my love for him and the role I have to play when the scenario of the game begins.
