I Should Have Died, So Why Did I End Up In A New World As A Girl?

Gabe Rask was a very sick boy reaching the end of his high school career. Unfortunately for him, he didn't make it. To his surprise, death wasn't the end for him. He ended up in another world where there was something completely different about his body! This is a continuation of "The Story Of A Sick Boy" and if you've read that, you'll notice that the first chapter is slightly different. Honestly, I don't think everything in the story makes 100% perfect sense but I think it works fine enough for what it is.

A Bright Future

"ALL MAGIC!?" exclaimed Rose.

"Y-yeah." I said, "It seems that way."

"That's not fair." she said.

"It's not like I planned on this." I said.

"Yeah, I know." she said.

"So what about you?"

"I'm compatible with healing magic."

"Ah, that's good."

"And then..."

"What is it?"

"No. It's nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Whatevery you say."

Thanks to me apparently being so good with magic, people wouldn't leave me alone. This usually resulted in Rose grabbing my hand and dragging me away. My new high school days were much more exciting than my old ones. I no longer had to worry about being sick all the time. Days later, Rose asked me a question.

"Do any of the guys here interest you?" she asked.

"W-what?" I said, "No! Of course not!

That's right. I'm a girl now. I hadn't really thought much about it though.

"Or is it not guys you like...?" asked Rose.

"Um..." I said.

The entire time I had lived in this world up to that point, I hadn't even thought about it. Before I died, I heard a girl confess her feelings for me, but... how did I feel about it? I was grateful but, how did I feel about girls back then? I guess I didn't really think much about this kind of thing in my past life either.

"I haven't really put that much thought into that kind of thing." I said.

"Is that so?" responded Rose.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Then I guess I won't bother you about it... for now." she said.

High school went by pretty fast too. I managed to make it to my senior year. All I could do was hope that I'd actually live past it too.

"You seem to be in a good mood." commented Rose.

"Is that what it looks like?" I asked.

"So did you confess your love to someone?" asked Rose.

"No, it was nothing like that." I replied.

"Wow, that was a quick response." she said.

"I'm just glad that everything's okay." I muttered.

"What are you talking about?" asked Rose.

"N-nothing!" I responded.

"Oh yeah," said Rose, "there's something I'd like to talk to you about."

"What is it?"

"Meet me on the roof after school."

"Um... okay?"

Thanks to my own magic ability, I was able to get through school with really good grades. However, whenever I brought up magic at home, Clara didn't want to talk about it. I did talk to Rose about this, but she said she has no idea what it might be.

Our senior year went by pretty quickly for a while and I was the happiest I had ever been in a long time. But several days in, something really strange would happen. Something that I never would have expected to happen. A familiar figure was at the front of the classroom.

"We have a new student transferring in today." our teacher said, "Why don't you introduce yourself?"

"My name is Oswin Fear." he answered, "It's nice to meet all of you."

W-what the hell? Oswin is here! Not only that, but... he's the same as he was in our old world! That's not fair!

"There's an empty seat right next to Miss Neville." our teacher said, pointing at me.

"Understood." he said.
