"Then I'll take it. From now on you will be Fate because you will be my partner that will carve my fate in this world so please take care of me and in return, I will also take care of you" Li Wei smiled and said to the sword in his hand. Its color is unnaturally white and it is as if the sword has its consciousness that it decided to respond to him by vibrating.

To others, nothing happened but to Li Wei, he can feel it. He can feel the untapped power of this sword. This sword is an artifact, a powerful one at that.

It is so thin and it is hard. Its color of white is beautiful and the edge of the sword is sharp, unbelievably sharp. Its hilt is comfortable to hand and the design is also beautiful with two spiraling black dragons as a design.

"Now leave my place, you don't need to pay for it since you deserve it anyway based on your destiny" The old man smirked at him and he sat down again and he continued drinking his ale. Not bothering to glance at him nor does it looks like he cares.

"I will not forget about this. My name is Li Wei, can I know your name kind sir?"

"You don't need who I am. Just leave" The old man casually said to him to which Li Wei followed.

After leaving the shop Li Wei can't hide the smile on his face. He looks at his partner again, this is the reason that he can contend with others in strength in the game. He had to do odd jobs and requests to that old man just so that he can get this sword back then.

But now Li Wei didn't expect that he will actually get it without even trying his best. His plan is just to buy an ordinary sword however it looks like the artifact that he has in the game still chose him as his owner even in this life

This sword is an artifact and he doesn't have what it takes to unleash its full power. He can only unleash some of the power of the sword if it absorbs the blood of strong entities.

He also looked at his interface again and sees that he have a new skill called Gathering Storms that is attached to item Fate, meaning he can only unleash it with his sword Fate.

Unknown to Li Wei, after he left, the old man can't stop smiling since he just finished his goal in this weak and small continent in the eastern part of this world.

"That darned thing finally chose a master. What an interesting lad, just what king of destiny do you have to be its master? Let's meet again in the future since my mission here is already done" The old man smiled and he suddenly transformed into a strong venerable Taoist.

Li Wei currently has no time to think about other things now since he wants to finish this charade early. He took a path near the slums and find a dark alleyway and when he found a good spot he stopped and look at his back.

"You better show yourself now! I know you have been following me for a long time already!" Li Wei shouted and he also observed his surroundings carefully.

"What an idiot! To think that you would lead us here when you knew that we are following you!"

"You are making our life easier this way"

"Let's not waste time brothers. I want to go to a whore house now and I heard this guy just earned 3 golds right?"

"That's a huge amount of money if we split it into the four of us hehe"

"Just how many nights can we spend in the whore house with this amount of money?"

Li Wei suddenly saw 4 people, the three of them are the troublemakers from the alchemist association and the last guy is probably another henchmen of the Fire Dragon Gang who also want another plate of rewards.

They look like an average gangster and troublemakers who wields swords and mace. They probably just rely on their burly body, physical strength, and in their backer. Not in their cultivation since they are also at the Qi Gathering Realm.

"What do you want from me?" Li Wei suddenly changed his tone, he said in a shaking tone. Acting like he is afraid of them.

"Heh! You better not do anything funny. Just give us the contents of your storage ring and we will let you pass just like nothing happened"

One of the guys who holds a mace said to him and point it at him trying to intimidate him while the others are trying to encircle him in this small area.

"I will give it to you as long as you promise me that you will not hurt me!" Li Wei said, apparent to his tone that he is really afraid.

Though he is just acting, this is the moment in his life that he wants to give thanks to his teacher who taught them how to act by giving them so many scripts that they need to enact that wouldn't even benefit them in the future.

"Good! It's good that you know how to follow the rules or else you might get beaten up"

"Just treat it as a protection fee!"

"Right, from now on our Fire Dragon Gang will protect you as long as you don't forget the protection fee monthly"

"I see, is that so? Then I will be willing to give all I have for now if the Fire Dragon Gang will protect me!" Li Wei said and he sighed a sigh of relief.

"As long as you continue paying us then you are our brother from now on and no one will mess with you as long as you said that your brothers are from the Fire Dragon Gang and you show this to them"

"Here is the token of our Fire Dragon Gang, if you pay us you can have it and no one will be courageous enough to try to fight you"

"Right, right you don't need to be afraid of anyone with us in this town"

The gangster with the sword smiled at him and he suddenly comes forward to Li Wei and tried to give him a token that has a mark of Fire Dragon Gang. However, in that next moment, Li Wei took out two swords from his storage ring.

He held Fate in his right hand and held the rank 1 treasure sword to his left hand. The swordsman in front of him is alerted and is cautious when he approached Li Wei however Li Wei is just fast that when he tried to block the approaching slash from of the right sword of Li Wei he can already see his hand that he usually uses to fight with his sword art is now flying.

Fear and shock are apparent to his eyes, he is someone in the 4th realm of Qi Gathering and he died to someone who looks younger than him and that guy is just in the 1st realm of Qi Gathering. He suddenly feels like he have been lied his whole life.

Most people say that as long as you have higher cultivation to your enemy then it will not even be a fight. He believed it and coupled with his arrogance because he is part of the Fire Dragon Gang that usually extorts people of their money, he thought that he is unstoppable as long as the Fire Dragon Gang is at his back.

That is his last thought when he suddenly saw that the right sword in Li Wei's hand have chopped his head off already.

As for how Li Wei did it? Cultivators all have 12 standard meridians. Using it and circulating your qi in this standard meridian will give you certain power-ups. An example of it is circulating your qi in the meridian in your leg and your foot will make you faster.

This is hard if you don't have a huge amount of knowledge since the 12 standard meridians are usually randomly placed. This standard meridian is always present in the cultivators however some people are just born unlucky that after they find their meridians sooner they will know that it is blocked and they have to find a way to open it.

Luckily the new body of Li Wei is pretty good, aside from his spirit root that is damaged.

Some talented meanwhile will have it easier since they will just find their meridians and they will know that it is open and there is not even a problem for it.

Li Wei knows where his 12 standard meridians are located since he have a huge amount of knowledge about the topic since he have been playing the game for 10 years in-game time.

Li Wei just circulated his qi in the meridians in his hands and arms, for faster and more powerful slash. He poured almost 20% of his qi in his left hand so that his enemy will not be able to see that he have already slashed his hand.

The result is pretty satisfactory since the swordsman died way too easily and it looks like he didn't even notice his hand is already gone when he tried to defend himself.

After killing the swordsman Li Wei didn't just standby he directly launch an attack on the guy on his left side since he will be the next easier target since he is still in shock at what happened.

Li Wei used the same thing technique again using his qi, this time circulating it in his foot and legs for him to be fast. Even though he is fast the guy that he planned to attack is more alert and he tried to smash Li Wei with his mace.

His attack infused with qi left a huge mark in the ground and cracks surrounding the center of the attack.

Li Wei is fast and slippery that he evaded the attack easily and he circulated qi in his hand again making his attack and movement faster. His target knows that he is in trouble and that he will not be able to evade the slash of Li Wei so he chose to sacrifice his arms, dropping his mace he tried to block Li Wei's slash by crossing both of his arms while moving backwards.

At least this way his neck will be protected and he will have a better chance of surviving since he feels like his neck is the target. He still have his ally that will help him so it's better if he loses his arm now since he knew that he will not make it in to block Li Wei's slash since his mace is somewhat heavy even for him.

Seeing the reaction of the guy in front of him, Li Wei suddenly smiled which caused the gangster's reaction to be more terrified.
