"What is even the point?"
I honestly couldn't take it anymore, every single page of this dammed novel is full of stupidity.
"From maid to Lady."
It is a stupid book, very stupid, I knew it from the moment it touched my hands, there was no need to read the description the cover was already stupid. Some child dressed like a maid with chest bigger then my future. Who puts THAT on the cover, WHO even buys that?
People like my roommate. She had a load of stuff like this, I don't even know where she got it from. There was no store in town that sells stuff like that, not that I am aware. But I guess it was interesting, the whole reincarnation thing at least, and the writing wasn't too bad. Events were predictable and the conversation was awkward to read and both main characters are idiots.
The story goes like this, there is this girl Irena and she was a maid for some noble man who was accused of treason so his whole family including the staff that worked for them got executed. But instead of dieing she woke up the day before she was supposed to start working for this family. Irena ran away to the nearby town and found shelter in the town library. The old librarian allowed her to live in the attic in exchange for mending the library. She accepted and soon after a famous Lord came to the library and they met. Love at first sight.
They talked for two chapters and then slept together for the whole book.
Suddenly they decided it is true love and want to marry each other. But there is a small thing in their waу. The Lord is married to ten diffraction woman and lives with all of them and their children. Irena is also sixteen and the pope doesn't want to marry them. There is also one more problem the Lord is engaged to another woman, but is a arranged marriage so it is fine because he doesn't love her.
Now this is where the whole story gets messed up. Instead of running away together, the Lord goes on and marries the woman he is engaged to and before their wedding he visited Irena and slept with her.
He then abandoned Irena for a while because his new wife was supposed to bear a child, and the Lord really wants this child but be would much have it with Irena. So he keeps going back and forth between the two of them, eventually decides that a child would ruin Irena's body like it did to his other wives so he stops sleeping with her and ignores her for a while.
Irena is sad but she still loves the Lord and forgives him for everything when one day he decides to take her as his wife. They run away to the next town over, got married and returned. The Lord now ignores all his wifes and children, gives Irena the chambers in the tallest tower of his castle, and I don't know what happens next because the book finishes in the middle of a sentence.
There is no author's name anywhere in the book, I searched it online but nothing comes up and this was the only thing my roommate left behind after moving out.

Why would anyone write a book and not put their name on it?
I jumped from my chair when the doorbell rang.
"At this hour?" It was two past midnight I should be the only one awake in this building full of old people.
I ignored it, then it ran again, and again, and again, then the doorknob jiggled.
I dropped everything, the book, my blanket and a hot tea mug, it all fell on the floor. The mug broke and tea spilled all over the book. But that didn't matter now.
This is not a safe neighborhood, it could just be someone drunk enough to try and enter a wrong apartment.
I was not going to open that door, but then my worst fear came true. You could hear the squeaky hinges when the door opened.
There he was already running as I stood frozen. The knife, it shined.
Disappointingly I have just given up my own life without a fight.
