I Ruined Mr. Tyrant's Wedding

"What exactly do you want from me, Mr. Mori?" "I told you, I want a bride. You took my bride, you bring me another one." She snickered. "You want me to become a matchmaker?" "No, sweetheart," he stood from his seat and leaned forward. Both his hands were flat on the desk as he crouched and peered down at Allie's piercing eyes. Evan stared at her green eyes darkly. They were so alive like a lovely summer forest, yet at the same time they were unnervingly cold and fearless. He didn't like her defiance. "You will take her place. You will be my bride." Chloe's brilliant idea

"Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who fits the character of the woman you described. The women I know would surely die to be Evan Mori's wife," said Chloe.

They were now in Allie's penthouse, both of them in Allie's bed and wearing facemasks

Although Chloe looked like a supermodel, she was a fashion designer born into a rich family. She knew a lot of affluent women, but she couldn't find someone who would want to be Evan Mori's wife with no strings attached.

That man was a big catch. He wasn't just filthy rich but also very attractive. Even Chloe's cousins and circle of acquaintances couldn't help but envy Evan's bride when his failed engagement was announced about a week ago.

Allie turned her face to Chloe. The latter's eyebrow twitched, noticing the mischief in her best friend's eyes.

"How about you divorce Ron quickly and marry Evan?"

Chloe's eyes widened and she rose from the bed. Allie did the same.

"Are you freaking serious? You're willing to sell me off?!"

Allie rolled her eyes. "Don't be dramatic. You don't like alpha males like Evan Mori, so you would never fall in love with him. You can do it for my sake. And wouldn't you benefit from it? He said he would provide his wife with everything she needs. You could ask him to fund your clothing line, so you won't have to rely on your family anymore."

Chloe grabbed a pillow and smacked it onto Allie's face a couple of times.

"You selfish bitch! Selfish! Selfish! How could you suggest that!"

Allie pulled the pillow away from Chloe, laughing.

Chloe stopped attacking but continued to glare at her.

"I can't believe you're willing to sell off your best friend as compensation!"

"I thought you were willing to give up anything for me?" Allie recalled Chloe's promise when they were in their first year of high school.

Chloe was often bullied for being a overweight teenager, and Allie happened to stand up for her once. Right after that, Chloe begged Allie to be her friend and said she would do anything for Allie.

"Yes, I did say that, but..." Chloe narrowed her eyes. "I was ignorant back then, and I never thought you could suggest such a thing!"

Allie stifled a smile. "I never said I was kind."

"But you were kind enough to help a pathetic teenager?"

"Yeah, because you were pathetic, like you said."

Chloe rolled her eyes, and both of them chuckled, reminiscing about those memories they now considered funny.

They lay back on the bed. Chloe sighed as they stared at the ceiling.

"Fine. Let me think of a way to help you."

Allie closed her eyes but didn't intend to sleep. She was thinking.

"Maybe we should hire someone?"

"Fool," Allie mumbled. "Evan Mori would surely know if we do that. He even discovered my identity."

"You're right. We can't just hire someone."

"Once he finds out, I'm screwed. That man is a tyrant who likes lording over people. He wouldn't let me off the hook after cheating on him twice. God knows what he could do."

Allie could imagine Evan ruining Code Vision because of her. That company might not be hers, but those projects were the result of her hard work in the past years. She was there when it was built, and she was the one who supported Professor Kelly. In a way, she felt like it was her home. She couldn't afford to lose it.

Allie peeled off her mask and was about to sleep when Chloe suddenly jolted beside her.

"I know now!"

"What do you know?" Allie asked.

"A big party will happen in two days!" Chloe was pretty enthusiastic. "I remember my mom talking about it over a phone call, saying it will be hosted by Esme Mori. Of course, every family with high standing is invited. We can go there and meet many ladies. Perhaps if you meet them in person and have a small talk, you can see who has the potential to be Evan Mori's wife."

Allie thought about it.

"Sounds like a nice idea," she said. But she didn't like the thought of parties.

As if Chloe had read her mind, she said, "Come on, Allie. It's just one party. You can go there as Scarlet instead of Allison Gray. Don't you want to find Evan Mori a bride?"

Of course, she wanted to. So bad.

She couldn't wait to remove Evan Mori from her sight. Sure, she would still see him at work once Code Vision became a subsidiary of Lotus Tech, but they wouldn't see each other often. And they wouldn't be talking outside of work.

The next day, Allie and Chloe went to buy dresses for the party after Allie's work.

Chloe brought Allie to a famous boutique where she was a VIP member. As a fashion designer who aspired to have her own clothing line, her fashion sense was evident in the way she dressed.

Allie sighed when she saw the long rack of dresses Chloe picked for her to try on. They were surrounded by staff who were ready to assist them.

"Can't I just pick something decent?"

Allie knew how to choose clothes, especially when she was doing her job as Scarlet. But when it came to Chloe, the latter always wanted the best in her eyes. That's why when they were shopping for clothes, Chloe always made her try on different outfits.

"Shut up. We're going to a big party, and you just want something decent? No, no, that won't work for me."

Chloe winked and told the staff to assist Allie in the fitting room.
