The Space

After confirming that the zombies were incapable of breaking the lock Anu removed the wet clothes at a fast pace.

Roughly drying herself, she found that her body proportions had drastically changed.

Since she was not in a situation where she could leisurely take a bath and mull over the changes that happened to her, she hastily opened the wardrobe and pulled out the loose-fitting lavender tracksuit which her father had bought last year.

After rummaging through the cupboard, she pulled out her arm sleeves and archery gloves that belonged to her late mother.

While the gloves managed to cover the pattern on her middle finger, the red mark was still visible partially.

She caressed around the mark lightly, not daring to touch it in fear of the pain relapsing.

Only after putting on the gloves, arm sleeve and tracksuit did Anu feel safe.

She took her hiking bag and started stuffing her clothes in it. After packing the durable and important clothes. She stuffed some of her parent's belongings inside.

'Only if I could have the privilege of unlimited storage' Like those overpowered female leads in the fictional novels.

Even the thought of such skills made her laugh.

But that did not last for long. The pattern on her middle finger shone as it swallowed the hiking bag and Anu was shell shocked.

Gulping in nervousness, she touched the hidden pattern on her finger and thought of entering the space.

Once again the pattern lit up, sucking in Anu as she disappeared from her place.

The surroundings turned into a blur for a fraction of a second and she regained her focus.

Now she was standing a few steps away from a staircase waterfall. The wild grass reached her knees. Her bag was lying three meters away from her with all its contents intact.

She picked up her bag and thought to herself, "is this some kind of teleportation?"

In the distance, there was a mountain range visibly green, even though the trees around her were incredibly huge compared to normal trees. "If this is some forest, those large trees are not an uncommon occurrence"

The only weird thing that scared her was that there wasn't a single animal or bird in sight. only the sound of water falling could be heard in the place.

Anu wondered if the weird phenomenon of the zombie apocalypse had further harmed the ecosystem on the planet.

In front of her was the waterfall in which not a single fish was to be seen whereas the water was crystal clear.

There were no bugs in the grass either which was surely not possible.

'If this was a real place at least some signs would have been present somewhere, but it feels like this place was like this from the start.'

Looking up she noted the absence of sun in the bright blue sky.

Anu's nerves were taut with tension as she put up her guard and looked around guardedly.

It was then that she saw a blue-tiled house in the distance.

Someone said, Let curiosity be greater than your fear. Curiosity will conquer fear even more than bravery will.

It was what exactly Anu was doing, as she moved closer step-by-step the view in front of her became clearer.

The grass beneath her stopped rustling as she stood rooted in a place.

A dilapidated brick house with a tiled roof and broken fence, as if it was stormed. Now that she was away from the waterfall the spooky silence was apparent.

With no wind as if the time had stopped, Anu was convinced that it was not a real place. There was no sun in the sky but it was still daytime, there is no fauna but the flora is flourishing.

'Isn't this the normal setting of a space ring that is described in the novels?' Anu thought in amusement and touched the ring pattern, wishing to step out.

In a flash, she was back in her room with the hiking bag in her other hand. Feeling ecstatic she tried doing it again and it worked. She was at the same place where she stood before going out.

Whilst she was inside her space, she moved towards the ruins, taking one step at a time, she looked around cautiously, Anu had no idea why she got such power, it was a space with an unspecified border with greenery and fresh air all over the place.

Out of nowhere she stumbled on a rock and tripped, a sharp stone pierced her hand making it bleed profusely, painting the patch of green beneath it crimson. "HISS!"
