I reincarnated into a cow

I'M A REAL MAN! Real note here: This series doesn't have a giga brain mc or anything like that and they will be smart, but at the same times fairly dumb too. The MC will basically be unable to keep a train of solid thought hence his stupidity. Second thing, reason why being^^ something something cow. Something something past life problems and head trauma equals something something something.

Zatus menu

I wasn't particular about the grass I ate currently. Because I was focused on the blue screen I had open. I had confirmed only I could see it and the Farmer, Son and Wife all likely had one as well. I had a few comments on the whole thing. Number one was the evolution tree, that was a tad out of my range of understanding specially with how one of the evolution would cause my gender to change.

Second was the fact that I had no name. I was a tad miffed at that until I eventually my Status updated. It was around the same time the Wife and Son had come around to check on me. They had given me a name, and I had liked it. The name Akira was charming to me.

The last thing however that I had to note specifically about the status screen was the settings and logs skills I had. Which were exactly as imagined. Settings literally let me customize the status menu. I of course changed it to dark mode and with much clearer text. I also found a language bar in the status menu which included 3. One of which was Goblin Uncommon, which was added to the oddities.

Which finally left me with the logs or more specifically the message before I feel asleep yesterday. That seemed odd in its direction and phrasing. Like it was speaking directly to me due to my memories.

I shook off the slight discomfort when a new message popped up.

<Aileain grass eaten. New skill added Journal. The Entry Aileain grass has been added due to skill Munch effect.>

I paused for a moment letting the grass and drool in my mouth to fall. It seemed I hadn't explored the status menu hard enough. I looked at the new skill I had gained and to my surprise it opened like a book. A new menu appeared with a table of contents. The first section was based on the status menu another was based on my discovered locations and the last was categorized as Edible foods.

I felt like a shrug was needed here as I opened up the entry on the skill Munch.

<Skill Munch: A skill common skill for common animals. Allows the user to know what is edible or inedible. Normally through instinct or survival sense.>

That was neat I guess, I made my way over to a different patch of grass and begun eating. Yet another message popped up.

<Common Weed eaten. Added entry.>

Now that was more interesting. I wondered how much was actually edible. Could I eat even more nutritious grass? Hah that would be something! I jumped slightly as I felt a hand land on my back. It was the Farmer's son. He dropped a bucket in front of me.

Looking in the bucket it was filled with shiny white plants. The kid said something I didn't understand. However as he pushed the bucket closer I mentally shrugged and begun chowing down.

As I did a new message appear again. This time it was well expected, but it still had a surprise.

<Silver Lillia Grass(rare). Added Entry.>

There was a ranking system? Did rare mean that the plants themselves were rare or that these ones were high quality. I checked the entry for the new grass as I ate it from the bucket.

<Silver Lillia Grass is a special grass that grows only on the Lillia Mountain the ancient battleground of Valkyrie Lillia. Grants 5% current experience per plant. Can be used in Alchemy to create....>

I cut the reading off there as I barely held myself back. I was content with my current life but a plant that made me stronger hell yea! The kid was talking, but I couldn't understand him at all so not much worry. A second later I received a notification on a level up.

I coughed slightly when I reached the bottom of the bucket. I had eaten a little too fast, but as I looked up I had a different notification. Along with the kid patting my head and smiling.

I ignored the kid as I stared at the screen. <Level 5 achieved! Unable to evolve due to early age. Hidden evolution are now available.>

I immediately checked my evolutions to only be some what disappointed. Things like Highland Cow or Shule Cow were what was added. Which basically meant it something like other breeds of cow. However thinking about it for a second I opened the journal again checking the entries of each evolution.

<Lowland cow is a breed of cow that lives in the valleys of Termainia. A common breed that produces a high number of female calves for milk production. The Male Calflings are able to change gender when they grow older in fact most do. The strongest Calf will remain Male. A rather interesting note is that this cow breed is immune to the effects of inbreeding.>

I stared slightly at the entry for the Lowland cow. It sounded like Lowland cows were closer to clown fish then cows. I shrugged it off and looked at the other entries.

<Highland Cow, a breed that has shaggy fur and heavy build. Raised in the Southern Cold where snow is common place. They boost high resistance and bulky hp. Entry not complete.>

Huh Entry not complete? Does that mean there is info I can't learn due to the obvious reasons? The other entries followed this pattern. So I just read on.

<Hervain Bison is the strong wild cousin of the tame cows of civilization. Also known as the monster cow as it is raised or captured by monster hordes. Boosting extremely high stats and abilities, Entry not complete.>

Well that one just cut off its sentence, sighing I read the next.

<Tauren a breed of Monster that was once a breed of cow. After tough times and rare magic this breed of cow became monsters. Baring low intelligence and extremely high strength they can overwhelm other breeds of monster cattle. Entry not complete.>

<Minotaur a breed of monster cattle that lives in solitude or sedentary life styles. They move without a herd, but have wits that can surprise many. Despite their looks they are very intelligent making their own tools. Entry not complete.>

<Other hidden evolution exist. The requirements must be achieved before they are entered as an entry. You may still view the names here: Shadow Calf, Demon Cattle, Holistaur, Cattle of Valhalla, Amalgam.>

I paused before looking at the farmer's son as he walked away. He pulled his sword out to prepare training again and I was left a little confused. If I had all these evolutions how do I check these requirements. They were separated as immediate evolution and required evolutions. Also I was a content and not very curious fellow. However there was an itch in the back of my mind wondering what else this status screen may reveal.

I needed more information. Perhaps I should try to learn the language the farmer and his family speaks.
