Chapter 29 Ragnar's return

Ragnar returned from his raid in Wessex,when he heard about what Jarl Borg did,So he left King Horik to negotiate with Kind Ecbert and rushed to see if his wife and children are okay.

On his return Ragnar sighed in relief seeing Asluag and Rollo waiting for him at the port.

Ragnar hugged Aslua,who whispered"Lord Thor and his men arrived to help,if not for them Kattgat would have been lost."

Ragnar was really grateful,he gave nod and walked towards Thor with appreciative tone said"Thank you do defending my people and family."

Thor nodded and gesturing towards Rollo said"He defended your people family too."

Ragnar eyes widened as Rollo smiled and said"Hello,brother."

Ragnar returned the smile and gave Rollo a hug,while Rollo looked at Thor and gave small nod.

After that Ragnar went to see his wife and children.

Ubbe and Hvitserk went hugged Ragnar yelling "Father!"

Ragnar smiled and said" Hello, son. Oh, I've missed you. Thank the gods!"

Ragnar saw the wooden sword Ubbe carried,his soften as getting asked" You still have it."

Ubbe nodded and with toothy smile replied"Yes."

Ragnar then saw his wife Aslaug carrying his newborn son,as she spoke up"I knew you were coming back. I saw you down in the field three days ago."

Baby Sigurd coos,as Ragnar asked"What did you call him?"

Aslaug with a smile answered"His name is Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye. I warned you, my love. You questioned my prophecy, but here's proof of it."

as Ragnar noticed the mark on his eye does resemble a snake as Asluag continued"In your child's eye is the serpent my father killed. It is not a curse, it is a blessing."

Ragnar was sitting with Rollo and Thor,as Raganr with anger said" I want to attack Gotaland. Now! I want to destroy Jarl Borg, I want to make him suffer as he has made my family suffer. I want to kill that Madr Strodinn with my bare hands."

Rollo sighed and replied"Then I must be frank with you, brother. I know you lost boats in the storm, but it's a pity you didn't return with more men.

Ragnar frowned and said"Then we find more men."

Rollo with frown replied "There are no more to find! Believe me, I've tried. And what's more...because of the huge defeat Jarl Borg has placed a fortune on your head,it is like he is putting his entire fortune on this."

Ragnar looks at Thor who shrugged and replied"I could get you the boats,but my men are spread because of territory I have govern."

Rollo already had discussed this with Thor who told him"His men don't like to be ordered around by mortals,it could cause issues with your brother."

Rollo understood where Thor is coming from after all ordering around Thor's men who are gods is not good thing.Also he was pretty sure Ragnar would try to get a few to switch into his wartribe,which won't be well liked by Thor's warband.
