BoP: Battle of Puppeteers (2)

After being dispatched by a Drone Hummingbird, Henry sat on top of a 50 meters high branch.

"It has begun," He looked at the bright fireworks as he waved his arm and summoned a translucent barrier.

After that, he continued to lean on the trunk, monitoring the forest's every move.

With his weight, he wouldn't be able to move easily in a complicated environment, so he might as well wait for an opponent. Besides, he was situated in the innermost of the forest, he could easily spot any ongoing conflicts while waiting.

As a veteran, he knew that Puppeteers wouldn't expose their location by operating their Goliath Puppet in the get-go.

It was like a bright bulb in the darkness surrounded by moths.

. . . . .

James Smith smiled upon seeing the fireworks. "Would be good if there's a chick by my side," he sighed.

He looked at the Drone Hummingbird in the sky. He waved his hands and smiled. He could already hear the girls kyaaaa-ing in their TVs.

"Well then, let's start."

As his voice faded, the red outline tattoo of a slender wolf in his left chest glowed with a faint red light.

James thought it was unfortunate that Puppet Storage tattoo is random upon creation. Or else he would have placed his tattoo in a flamboyant way.

Thereafter, a crimson red mist surrounded him as he ascended to the air.

The red mist then grew skin, fur, fangs, eyes, nose, and before the audience knew it, a menacing black wolf that stood upright with a towering height of more than 60 meters appeared.

It was tall enough for its head to reach the enormous trees around him!

It only took him a second to summoned and control the Black Werewolf inside.

"It's a werewolf. A bloody werewolf!" Mike said, dumbfounded.

Seth who was watching the projector screen was stunned. 'Damn that's cool.' he thought.

The audience around him cheered in excitement.

"Werewolf!"

"Is that the werewolf from fairytales?!"

"What do you call a wolf with..."

"Shut up David!"

Seth ignored them—especially the daddy jokes guy—and concentrated on watching the werewolf.

One look and the children would probably piss themselves.

The Black Werewolf has deadly canine teeth. A lean muscular body that was slightly covered by pitch-black fur.

Its sharp claws alone are taller than three people combine in height.

At the same time, Puppeteers who were searching for an enemy to rob raised their heads. While some placed their ears on the ground as they felt a slight tremor.

Thereafter, hundreds of puppeteers headed in James' direction.

With the werewolf's senses, James quickly noticed their movements. He howled to the sky. It was a habit he had slowly developed before an intense fight.

A habit he couldn't remove.

The approaching puppeteers heard the howl and immediately summoned their Goliath Puppets. Their tattoo glowed as mist covered their bodies.

Boom!

Hundreds of Goliath Beasts appeared as each differed from size to appearance.

Countless cheers were heard from Stone City.

The two hosts couldn't even commentate as they themselves were absorbed from the upcoming fight.

They couldn't help it. The sight of hundreds of Goliath Puppets thrilled them to their core.

Amidst the excitement, Seth felt like crying.

As if the washing machine wasn't enough, Tina would swing him every now and then in excitement.

. . . . . .

In the forest, large tremors could be felt. Trees were trampled as Gigantic Beasts trotted one after another.

"Roar!" a dominant roar sounded. The Goliath Puppets tensed up. They simultaneously looked around in the direction of the roar.

In the distance, there was an 80-meter tall orange ape. It has six red eyes, three on each side, that are incomparably ferocious.

Its bulky muscles quickly moved as the orange ape made a huge leap and left a huge crater behind.

In the air, the Orange Ape's hands burst into flames. It was the puppeteer's attachment ability.

The puppeteer of the Orange Ape smiled.

He was going to sweep all the participants in one blow.

During this time, the forgotten Werewolf looked up at the Orange Ape in the sky.

A shiver ran to the Ape Puppeteer's spine. It was laughing at him.

Before he could even blink, the Werewolf disappeared, leaving only a mirage. Then, a heavyweight landed on his back. In an instant, all of his bones broke.

James appeared on his rear and double-kicked him!

The Orange Ape then turned into a blur as it accelerated from the kick, only leaving a trace of the fire in its hands.

Bang!

As the 80 meters tall Orange Ape made contact with the ground, the whole green forest shook. Cracks started to spread on the ground as it uprooted the towering trees.

Rumble!!

What came after a defining sound was the ignition of the Orange Ape's blazing hands.

Before the Puppeteers could even run, a surge of wind and fire flooded the whole battlefield.

It was like hell was brought into the rainforest, as fire consumed the area.

A few seconds later, James in his pitch-black Werewolf landed with a thud. The impact quickly produced a surge of wind that subsided the smoke covering the battlefield.

A frightening scene appeared that made the stunned audience hissed.

In a 1-kilometer area, all the trees turned to ashes. Cracks riddled the ground as a hundred of Goliath Puppets laid with burns all over their body.

For a moment, silence permitted the whole City. The battle ended before it could even start.

"Anddd James did it! Complete annihilation of 100 Goliath Beasts within a minute!" Mike broke the silence as he announced excitedly.

Andrea exclaimed. "How did he do that?!"

Mike looked at her as if she was an idiot. "He wasn't called a Genius for no reason. It was said that the ability he awakened was orange quality!"

"What?" Andrea blinked.

Audience: "...."

In the distance, Henry limped down the branch to the trunk. Just now, he almost fell from the tree from shock.

Fortunately, he didn't act rashly. It was the same for other Puppeteers watching the battle. From their years of battle, they knew that going without a plan is like suicide.

. . . . . .

James stored his Werewolf back.

Then, the flesh of the Werewolf slowly turned into a mist which was later absorbed by the tattoo in his chest.

He looked around and saw that the Goliath Puppets have slowly turned into mist.

James leisurely walked towards the puppeteers who have fainted. Tied to their neck was a metal tag with a code in it.

When certain damages were dealt on the Goliath Puppets, puppeteers would spend soul energy to minimize or heal the Goliath Puppets. So it wasn't that dangerous seeing them in their state.

A few moments later, the rescuers arrived with their Alpine Swifts Goliath Puppets.

It was an enlarged mutation of Alpine Swift. There are no particular changes except its grey color and its gigantic body with a 2-football field wingspan.

James laid on the ground leisurely, he had already collected a total of 116 metal tags. He was too lazy to collect more than that, besides the tags weren't that important for him.

It could only add additional rewards after the competition. The main purposes of the metal tags are to force participants from hiding. Participants who survive without metal tags cannot proceed to the next stage of the tournament.
