Chapter 10: Altercations

I finally got back to the Knight's quarters and headed back for Aliyah's room. Aliyah had told the other knights to let me go since she was keeping me here for the time being.

I got to the door and tried to open it. I couldn't quite reach and I didn't have enough strength after my mana being drained to try harder. Michael came up from behind me and opened the door for me. He then waved at me and left. "Thank you..." I said weakly.

I then entered the room, took off my boots, and plopped onto Aliyah's bed. I kept the robe on me as I was too tired to take it off. It was getting dark outside so I decided to just call it a night right here and now. I fell asleep shortly after.

"See you later, Aliyah!" said Mark. I had just finished up my shift and I couldn't wait to get back to my room where Pearl is. She is so damn cute hehehe~.

I walked to the Knight's quarters and before I could get to the door, two women intervened. "Oi, bitch." said the first woman. The second woman laughed a bit. 'I recognize these two...Oh! It's Mary and Harley, my roommates.

"Why is there a fucking beastman in our room? Why did you bring that kind of filth to this place?!" said Mary. 'Are they talking about Pearl? Shit, they found out that she was a beastman!' I yelled in my mind. "What's wrong with helping out someone in need, huh?" I retorted.

Harley had something hidden behind her back, but I couldn't see what. Mary got closer to me and waved her hand in a weird way at Harley. Harley then pulled out a wooden bat and hit me with it in the head. I was falling to the ground as I lost my conscience. "You...bitch..." Those were the last words I could muster out before I blacked out.

"That's what you get for bringing a piece of shit like a beastman here. Have fun, fuckface." Mary then went inside and headed for her room where Pearl currently was.

Harley on the other hand, started hitting Aliyah with the wooden bat over and over until Aliyah's body begun to bleed in a lot of places from the blunt force.

After targeting the head, Harley then broke one of Aliyah's arms and one of Aliyah's legs. Harley then tossed Aliyah's body in the nearby alley and left it there for it to rot.

I woke up to the sound of fighting outside. I was scared so I got my dagger ready since I thought I wouldn't have enough time to grab my short sword from my inventory. I got my boots and robe on and got ready for some kind of enemy to enter the room.

The door was kicked open. The person who did it was none other than Mary. "Found you." said Mary with evil in her eyes. I ran up and attempted to stab her in the leg.

I did this out of pure fear and my instincts told me to. I got the knife into her left leg but it was shallow and so I tried to pull it back out and try again.

Mary kicked me in the head with her other leg. It hurt like hell. 'I can't win this...not when I'm already fatigued from mana drainage...' I said in my mind.

I quickly put my dagger back in it's sheath and attempted to stand up. My body wouldn't move after the first attempt to stand.

I fell to the ground again. This time, Mary had gotten closer to me and begun to get down on her knees. She grabbed me by the hair and proceeded to punch me over and over.

After about 2 minutes of this, she picked me up and threw me into the wall. I passed out after the impact from the barrage of punches and hitting the wall.

Mary then said, "Fuck you. Filthy bitch." She then left the room and went to find Harley since Harley knew healing magic.

I woke up in a medical room. I looked around and then remembered what happened last night with Mary and Harley. "Oh no. I NEED TO GET TO PEARL!" I yelled. The medic came in and saw me try to leave. I then saw my arm and leg in casts.

"You must not remember why you have casts, Aliyah." said the medic. I then laid back down and said, "Is Pearl alright? She is a girl I was taking care of. Mary, did she hurt her?" The medic pointed to the right of me and what I saw, made me cry out of pure anger and sadness.

It was Pearl and she was bloody and bruised. She was still unconscious at the time. "Do you have any idea what could've happened to her? She lost quite the amount of blood and mana. Not to mention several bones were broken." said the medic.

Rage filled me. "I know that bitch wouldn't dare do that. MARY AND HARLEY! YOU TWO ARE FUCKING DEAD WHEN I FIND YOU!" I yelled. The medic got scared but repositioned himself and said, "Do you mean your roommates Mary and Harley?" I nodded.

I then told the medic what happened last night and how that Mary and Harley both hated beastmen. By the way, the medic is the personal medical staff head member for the Knights of Rybim.

He listened to all of what I had to say. The medic then went out of the room and talked to another knight. The same knight who is friends with Aliyah and Pearl. It was Mark. "Report them to the chief of Knight's, sir Mark." said the medic.

Mark then went to tell the chief about what Harley and Mary did to Aliyah and Pearl. Mark was also filled with rage about what they did to his best friend, Aliyah, and his new friend, Pearl.

-[3 Days Later]-

I woke up in what looked to be a medical facility room. I tried to sit up but my body was hurting a lot and as I am not as tough as I used to be, it hurt a lot more than it would've if I was the old me. "Ow." I said weakly. "Pearl? You're okay!" said Aliyah who was in the bed next to me.

"What happened - Wait, Mary..." I said. Aliyah then replied, "Don't worry! They were fired yesterday since they harmed me. And you, who is a child. That's illegal you know! Knight's are only allowed to fight when themselves or the general public is in danger." I was still exhausted so I accidentally drifted back to sleep. Aliyah stayed awake and watched me. I really do have a good friend. Don't I?

-[1 week later]-

I was dismissed from the medical center a few minutes ago. I still have some pain from the broken ribs, but it'll subside within a few days or so. They said it should be another 2 weeks for Aliyah to leave. It saddened me to hear that. I thought, 'Wouldn't healing magic fix that?' [Healing magic is not well known in this city. That is why there is medics, and not healing mages. Although a few medics actually know the most basic healing magic formula.] Thank you for the explanation, Gem!

I then went back to Aliyah's room and saw that Mary and Harley's belongings were gone. So they were really fired! Haha! That's what you get you jerks! Hehehe~.

I went over to the desk and took off my robe and set it there. I then took off the shorts I was wearing because they were dirty and I set them down with my robe.

I then got into the bed and went to sleep. I was still mentally exhausted and my body was in some pain so it helps when I sleep. Although in 1 week or so, I will be out in the forest killing monsters and racking in the XP!
