Chp 79 : Yael's past life

"..."

"It's a son!"

A grateful exclamation made by an old man, contrasted by a small satisfied hum of a man leaning against the bedroom wall, arms crossed with a bored facial expression

[Huh? What's happening]

"Your highness it's a son!" The old man exclaimed in happiness once again as the man leaning on the wall walked over with an annoyed expression

Now that the man was now in Siun's view he was able to clearly see who it was, silky-long light blue hair cascaded from above as Gale Xinthri inspected Siun, Gale's pale pink eyes seemed to stare straight through him

"It's that peasant's son" Gale said with a smug look on his face as he grinned at the gasping woman, "I knew you were obsessed with me, but doing this to get my attention? How pathetic... not only did you jeopardize the alliance, but you also produced a filthy rat!"

His speech was followed by a splash of water onto the new mother's face, carried across the room from a plotted plant by wind magic

"Your highness what are you doing?!" The old man questioned with fear and shock as he tried to comfort the mother and her bawling baby cradled in her arms "Ms. Lyle did nothing wrong, she gave birth to your son!"

"MY son?!" Gale said as he lashed out at the old doctor "Look at that filth! How does it resemble me?"

[What is Gale talking about?] Siun said as he looked down to inspect his body [Oh...]

To Siun's surprise, his body was as white as snow, without a single blemish. Now it was understandable why Gale knew he wasn't the father... although Gale's skin was not dark, he was not white but more tan... and Yael being from Seux, he skin was even darker than Gale's

[This body I'm in right now is the son of a Khawlok, now all that's left to do is to find out how this person is connected to Mikhail, and all of the answers will be revealed!] Siun said optimistically as he listened in to the drama

"N-no... It can't be!" Yael said with a devastated face "I-it was just one night! and Karter said h-"

"ENOUGH" Gale said he slapped Yael across the cheek "... doctor, get them out of this palace before tomorrow, or else your going to be next" He said, regaining his composure as he wiped his hand meticulously as if he touched something filthy

The three of them were left alone in the messy room, with the only sound being Yael trying to stop her tears from spilling out

"Ms. Yael... I hope you leave out of your own will, you know my daughter is having troubles at home... so do me a favor" The old man said as he walked out the room as well

[Yael...] Even though Siun knew this was just a dream, he still felt bad for Yael and reached out his hands towards her [Why do you have such tragic endings? In this current one you were sacrificed, and in this you were betrayed and left to rot...]

Yael saw her baby pawing in the air trying to console her, making her calm down, and her face turned into a solemn yet warm smile

"What do we do... little one?" she said as she cradled her baby "It's all my fault that you are going to have to die with me... just because of my decisions"

She said as she stroked Siun's head gently trying to think

"They are usually not this harsh with bastard children, they usually just get sent to the Curran palace... well I guess it's because of the alliance" Yael sighed, but then it hit her "The Curran palace, no one ever goes there to check on the children there as they are left to rot... but it's better than dying don't you think?"
