Chp 25 : Wait... Thats Not How You Use a Shield

"Ahhhh... how silly of me, Glenn is the name of Xinthri's youngest... Oh but keep this a secret, no one is supposed to know his name until his debut into society at 6! No one knows except Jean who is my right-hand man and Karter who is my best friend... I trust you guys' will keep this a secret, right?"

Siun got scared, he sensed that Yael put a bit of killing intent in that last part.

Silas, Elena and Siun both nodded together assuring Yael that they will keep this a secret

[Siun : With Yael's personality im surprised she hasn't told the whole world...]

[Tex : Don't worry, even though she might act like this... she is still a member of the royal family and knows the rules and responsibilities, she just really likes you guys]

"Uhm big sister?"

"Hm? what is it Siun?"

"If it was supposed to be a secret why do you know his name?"

"Hehehe you are so cute and curious! Let me tell you another secret... but you can't tell your parents about his one so come closer!"

Siun looked to his parents asking for permission, Silas and Elena both nodded.

"Hehe what's the secret big sister Yael?"

"You know how Glenn is the youngest of Xinthri right? He has an older sibling called Gail, who is about the same age as me..."

Yael looks over her shoulder to make sure no one was able to hear her, not even Karter her best friend.

"I'm being married off to Xinthri, that is also why we are travelling to the main town like you guys, us being mercenaries is just a disguise.... hehe"

[Siun : Oh my god! Are they doing this against her will?!]

[Tex : Doesn't look like it... take a look at her face]

Siun saw that Yael's expression was not one filled with sadness but instead she looked like the happiest person in the world, but Siun just wanted to make sure...

"Do you want to marry him?"

Yael chuckled and said "Haha well-"

but before she could continue Jean abruptly stopped the carriage and shouted

"Ms. Yael! The demons are attacking!"

Yael sighed and looked at Siun

"Huhuhu watch your big sister and her companions crush these demons! And when you get healed by the saints I'll teach you all my tricks!" She said as she swiftly hopped off the wagon followed by Karter and Jean

"Mr. and Mrs. take care of your son while we fight, make sure not to leave as we cannot guarantee your safety if you do" Jean said in a cold voice

[Siun : I can't wait to see how a member of the Seux royal family fights!]

[Tex : Make sure you look at Jean as well, he is a Xinthri that utilizes his speed very well in hand to hand combat, since his fighting style does not require much magic you should try to imitate it]

[Siun : What about that jerk Karter? What is he?]

[Tex : He is obviously a Khawlok, you can see by his skin that is white as snow and the fact that he uses a shield to fight]

[Siun : Your actually being useful for once Tex]

This time about 5 tree demons emerged and their wagon was slowly trapped within the forest.

"Haha these cowardly tree demons always using their tricks! Karter, Jean you take the two smaller ones! I can handle these three!"

After Yael finished instructing them the three of them all rush into battle simultaneously

The tree demon that Karter was assigned to defeat was not as tall as the other four but was definitely the bulkiest and thickest. Yael took this into consideration as Karter was the most physically strong and was a good match up against bulky enemies.

"HAHAHA TAKE THIS YOU DEMON!"

Karter yelled out loud holding his shield horizontally, making it act like a blade, although a very dull blade, but that didn't matter here because of Karter's sheer strength he was able to slice the demon in half!

[Siun : WHAT THE FUCK... That's not how your supposed to use a fucking shield?!]

[Tex : But still, compared to your mother he is leaps and bounds ahead of her in terms of combat capabilities, although his style might be a bit uhm... strange, it still works]

As Karter was doing his thing, Jean was assigned to kill a tree demon that was quite a bit taller than Karter's but it was considerably thinner.

Unlike Karter who shouts while he fights, Jean preferred to stay quiet, only occasionally letting out a few grunts here and there.

Also what was different about him than Karter was that his techniques were really refined and perfected. He totally utilizes his Xinthri blood in his attacks, it seems as if he was throwing atleast 15 punches a second and a phew powerful kicks ever so often.

[Siun : Wow! A Xinthri can actually do hand to hand combat?! I can be like that too?!]

[Tex : Hate to break it to you, but if you look closely he actually enhances all his attacks with wind magic to make them even more powerful and fast... The most you can do is at most half of his damage]

[Siun : Rats!]

[Tex : Don't be too disappointed, you will get a totally unique power when you are 4 remember?]

[Siun : Wow your actually being really nice and encouraging today!]
