10 Angel of Light

The large beast fell to the ground. On top of the large monster was a little boy. He was looking down at the beast very satisfied. He giggled as he jumped off and ran over to the two men who were standing in the distance with a big smile on his face.

"How was that Father?"

Azrail grinned and rubbed the top of his head.

"Not bad, boy. Now go get some water and have a small break, your Uncle and I need to talk for a bit."

Young Arata beamed and bowed to the two men before running off. The tall man standing next to Azrail watched Arata run off in awe.

"So this is what you have been doing. Creating a little monster. If I'm not mistaken I believe I saw him use 3 of your Sempiternal Arts. How did you prepare his mind and body to withstand that much power?"

Azrail grinned proudly.

"I only guided him. His talent is far higher than yours and mine combined. I truly believe he can accomplish what we couldn't."

The tall man sighed. He was hopeful, but he also knew how difficult it would be.

"If he could that would be great. But he will need to have his Dark Element restricted a lot for him to be able to go through with it."

"He doesn't have the Dark Element."

The tall man looked at Azrail confused.

"Did you teach him an element different to your own? You know that out of all the Elements, Darkness and Light have the highest chances of making this work. I wouldn't think that you would train him in my Element instead of yours?"

"He doesn't have the Light Element either."

"But his power is so great and...." The tall man stopped talking. His eyes widened as realization hit him. A sly smile appeared on Azrail's face. The tall man couldn't believe it.

"You don't mean to tell me..."

Azrail replied with a nod.

"He is a pure Non-Elemental."

The tall man looked over at the young boy sitting on the ground making faces at the beasts in the cages. This little boy has the potential to do what he and Azrail had been wishing and dreaming of for so long. A pure Non-Elemental was indeed hard to be at this age, as if you didn't choose an Element early on; whatever Element that child was influenced by would automatically become their Element. But he remained a pure Non-Elemental. Azrail put his hand on the tall man's shoulder.

"Now that you know, I'm assuming you know why I calleed you here to meet him."

The tall man looked at Azrail.

"You really think he can do it?"

Azrail looked over to Arata.

"Not alone I can't, but if we train him together."

Azrail's gaze turned soft. The tall man understood. His eyes had lit up in excitement. He nodded and walked over to Arata. As he approached, Arata stood up.

"Hey Uncle Aki, do you want to see me beat up another beastie?"

The Angel of Light smiled and shook his head.

"No need, I already know Little Arata is a powerful boy."

He patted the little boys head, Arata beamed proudly.

"Instead, I'm going to teach you a few tricks. Me and your Father are both going to train you from here on out. Do you think you are up to it?"

Arata looked excitedly at Akimitsu and bowed.

"I'm ready."

Present Day.

Akari charged towards the smiling Arata who hadn't moved yet. Her Light Element circulated within her and formed in her eyes. The Holy Element had three stages of purity on top of the regular levels of cultivation that everyone's Elemental Reservoir had to go through. First stage being the basic Light Element. Second stage was the Holy Light Element. And finally, the pure Holy Element. Akari was an exceptionally talented young girl as she had reached the border the bottleneck between Light and Holy Light, so her power surge was extremely powerful, and Arata could see that. The energy then stirred in her eyes.

There was a bright flash and everyone in the class were blinded as Akari disappeared. Moving through the rooms light particles, she reappeared behind Arata. Light had now coalesced in her right hand as she threw a punch at Arata. Arata then turned around and faced Akari and, to her surprise, his eyes were shut. He caught her punch easily. Arata smiled at this point. Although Arata was being pushed back, Akari felt that something was wrong. She then felt the Light energy in the air seemed to be floating towards Arata, gathering in and around him. Even a fraction of the Light Element in her fist travelled towards Arata. Akari felt a familiar energy coming off of Arata as she tried to push her punch through him. Arata chuckled at Akari's efforts.

"If I remember correctly, it's used like this."

Arata opened his eyes and, in the same way Akari did, there was a flash of light that blinded the room and Arata had disappeared. But, unlike Akari, he didn't reappear instantly. Akari panicked seeing him use this move on her. He had used her Father's Sacred Art. She turned around, looking for where Arata had disappeared to, but she couldn't find him. She did all she could to read the Light Element in the air, but she picked up nothing around her.

Someone from the class gasped which caught Akari's attention. Following the student's gaze, she looked above her. In mid-air, Arata seemed to be floating there holding his fist. As they locked eyes, Arata smiled, at which point he fell toward Akari. Akari moved to the side, just barely dodging Arata's fist which went flying into the ground. However, what shocked her was that there was no sound when he landed. Even the fist colliding with ground was completely silent; furthermore, nothing had happened to the ground.

Akari was confused as she had clearly sensed a powerful energy coming from the fist and a sense of crisis had overwhelmed her. Yet the fist did nothing to the stage. She was deeply confused. Arata then leaped towards her throwing another fist, she pushed it to the side, deflecting it. She threw a punch of her own, which Arata simply caught and stopped her. Akari felt like she was hitting a wall with all her punches, he was truly a strong fighter and his body was powerful enough to easily catch her attacks. She swiftly retreated.

But Arata wouldn't let her go that easily. He continued to throw punches that sent a fear through Akari, so she continued to parry and dodge, not willing to throw another punch until she found a weak spot in his defense. Seeing an opening, Akari broke free and quickly charged her Light Energy into her fist. Arata noticed and didn't try to blcok or deflect, instead he charged his energy as well.

They both seemed to be standing in the same stance now. Akari thought he was copying her at first, but she recognized the aura he was giving off. It was similar to her Father's. She wanted to know how he knew all of this, but she also remembered his arrogance and disrespectful nature. If she could defeat him, she could get him to tell her.

They both charged at each other at the same time, their fists collided and the energy exploded in a piercing beam of light that flooded the entire classroom, leaving everyone blinded.

Teacher Takuma had stood up. The light had disappeared, but everyone in the room still couldn't see anything as the light was too bright. As her eyes slowly came back into focus and adjusted, Teacher Takuma tried to see what had happened. She saw the two figures on the stage. Both were still standing, but only one was standing up straight.

As her eyes finally adjusted, she was shocked at the scene before her. Arata was standing up normally looking at Akari, who was holding her arm and seemed to be slouching a little and breathing heavily. She was clearly in a sorrier state than Arata was.

Arata looked at Akari with fascination. He didn't think that he would find anyone to challenge him in this school, yet he was wrong. He actually had to put in some effort into that last attack and she was still standing. Arata greatly admired Akari's strength.

Arata also knew that it wasn't due to power that he had won. If it was purely based on power, than Akari would have won, Arata knew and felt that. She was far stronger than him in regards to the Holy Element that they both were using. Although Arata could tap into the Holy Element but absorbing and manipulating the Light Energy in the air, he couldn't produce the Holy energy himself. He was still a Non-Elemental. Akari was someone who fully trained and cultivated the Holy Element, and an extremely pure one at that. Arata could sense the purity of her power.

But it wasn't through power that Arata had defeated her. This is what Akari was struggling to understand and comprehend.

Akari was just in pure shock. She had used one of her Father's Sacred Art's, the strongest one she knows. Although Arata was powerful, Akari knew that it wasn't his Energy that defeated her. It was his understanding of the Sacred Art. He had a far deeper understanding of how to control and direct the energy than she did. Although Akari's Mastery of the Sacred Art was high for someone of her age, Arata seemed to be on an even higher level of Mastery than her. That was why she was in her current state. Her training in it was incomplete, which is why she didn't use it straight away.

But after seeing how powerful he was, she decided to use everything in this last attack, but to her surprise, he used the same move and defeated her. Not only was her Sacred Art defeated, but it was defeated by the same Sacred Art, used by someone who was, not only the same age as her, but also wasn't in her Clan. She couldn't believe it.

Arata looked at Akari's arm. He felt bad for injuring her. When he felt the pressure coming off of Akari, he subconsciously went full out with the attack. He felt a sense of crisis as he thought about Akari's father. His eyes widened in fear.

'Uncle Aki is going to kill me if he finds out I hurt his precious daughter!'

Arata looked over to Teacher Takuma, donning his arrogant persona once more and spoke in a cold voice.

"I'm going to take Akari to the Infirmary."

Before Teacher Takuma or the class could even react, he had grabbed Akari and had disappeared out the door. The class was frozen in shock.

Did he just kidnap the Class Representative?
