3 New circumstances

It didn't take long for Savine to wake up.

Savine, or should she say, Ney, was always battling with the mana inside her, so there were definitely occasions when she passed out. Her new family was worried about her situation, but like it or not, they knew they couldn't do anything about it.

They could only let her rest by herself for a few hours and hope she got better.

Using this alone time, Savine could finally digest everything that happened to her and identify all the problems. She found three of them most concerning.

The foremost, was, of course, the new body she had taken over.

'Why did she take over the body of a 12-year-old?'

Normally, when angels were sent to a world familiar with mana, they took over the body of the strongest person in the world. If there was no mana, they took over the most influential person. On Earth, Savine took over the body of a multitrillionaire. That made her conquest of the world extremely simple.

But when Savine felt her emaciated, empty belly; her withered, twig-like limbs; and the tattered, moldy room she was in… she really couldn't see how all this was right.

She either came to a dog world where this scrawny girl was the strongest person in the world, or this was one of the conditions that Jibril set up for her.

'But Jibril should mention it if it's a condition.'

Savine sighed.

'In the end, it doesn't change what I must do.'

Using the body of this girl, she needed to save the world. To spread God's name and make sure the Magicracy she was living in and all the other countries converted to Theocracy.

Subconsciously, her thoughts wandered to slaughtering the heretics first and foremost, but she quickly remembered Jibril's conditions.

No killing, no threatening, no brainwashing, and no messing with people's genes.

'Also, I can only use my powers to defend myself... but currently, I don't even have powers that I can call my own.'

These were the exact conditions that Jibril said. Of course, Savine could tell that there were more in the list, but Jibril didn't mention them because her intentions were obvious.

Essentially, Savine's methods were being rejected, and she now needed to save the world the orthodox way. To make a religious legend out of herself and make the masses believe in God.

But why should Savine abide by her words?

Jibril was important, but she wasn't God. She was only expressing her own distaste for what Savine did. Savine had no intentions of diligently following her words.

'Though… knowing her, she must've put some measures to make sure of her orders. Did she physically restrict me from killing? Or would I be called back to heaven the moment I kill?'

These two were the likeliest and if Savine had to choose, she would've chosen the former. Physical restrictions she could live with, but living with the worry of wondering what would happen when she killed, that was much too annoying.

As Savine was thinking, a boy walked into the room. It was Lihar, Ney's older brother.

He roughly put a bowl of soup and a bucket full of water on the floor.

"Make up your mind already," he said spitefully.

Momentarily, Savine couldn't get what he was trying to say.

She dug into Ney's memories and pulled up Lihar. Quickly, she understood what was going on. Lihar didn't like how their parents always made a fuss about Ney, when they could've just sold her years ago.

Now, despite their desperate lives, they were stuck taking care of an invalid, whose only use was to eat and shit. Because of her, Lihar needed to work twice as much compared to the other teens and for some reason, Ney was still considered more important than her because she was a mage.

It was obvious he wouldn't like this useless sister of hers.

Savine didn't know of this before, because she didn't deem the info on Ney's family as important as the other things. She planned to distance herself from Ney's old relations the moment she came to the world.

"I'll be gone soon," she replied quietly.

"You would've been on the other side of the world if you actually left when you damn said you would."

"…"

Lihar scoffed and walked out of the room.

Savine smiled, liking the boy's quip back. She did not care for such insults to her. She was far too old to be acting petty.

But that didn't mean this wasn't a problem.

To save the world, she needed to be strong enough that the world's leaders would tremble before her in silence. But now, even brats like these could run their mouths without worry.

She probed at the mana inside her. Earlier, she tried taking over it forcefully, but she realized that the amount was too much for this body to handle. She had the mental capacity to control it, but her body would collapse and disintegrate in the process.

If she had the Divinity that she was supposed to bring to the world, she could either heal her body through the collapse, or simple force the mana to bend to her will. If she didn't care at all for the Divinity she would waste, she could directly transform her body to better absorb and control the mana.

But since Jibril didn't allow her a chance to bring Divinity, her hands were tied.

For the time being, she could simply keep the mana inside her body, suppressing it when it became unruly, but that had a time limit. One day, her body would explode. Even now, it felt like she felt like a giant balloon, about to burst the moment someone poked a hole in her.

She shook her head, clearing away all the distracting thoughts. Her immediate goal was clear.

'I need to get the tools of those Magi.'

With it, she could solve the issue of her mana and she would have access to her powers. And from what she could tell, the mana contained in this girl's body was something that even angels would envy.

Perhaps she did enter the body of the strongest person on the world. And as fate would have it, she was a random starving girl who probably would've died in a year if Savine hadn't taken over her body.

However, being sold to a Magus… didn't seem like the brightest idea.

With how horribly the slave mages were treated and with how they never once retaliated in the history of the Magicracy, Savine knew that the binding contracts imposed on them would be extremely powerful. Her experience with the various worlds showed her that such magical means of enforcing contracts were usually the most researched form of magic.

She saw dozens of worlds where the entire ruling system operated on the premise of unbreakable contracts. It was natural. Rulers didn't like uncertain things, so when there was an opportunity to make sure of certain things, they would definitely want to take it.

Savine actually liked these worlds a lot, since she usually took over the body of the person who controlled all these contracts. The peak of the world. Most of her underlings were contractually bound to do whatever she wanted, so she could spread God's name without much effort.

However, if she was born on the lowest rung… she could see how soul-wrenching such worlds could be.

Thus, she needed to get the tool without selling herself to the Magi.

She had three options left:

One was to create the tool herself.

The second was to buy the tool from the black market.

The third was to seek help from another country.

The first was her favorite one. She didn't need to bring outsiders into her situation and also the benefits were enormous. Not only she wouldn't have to worry about her own mana, she could use the tool to save other outside blood mages. She could also train them to use their powers and eventually, she would get herself an army of loyal mages.

But such magical tools always required magical materials. And such materials were always rare and always under the control of whoever was in the top. That seemed the most likely since Savine couldn't find even one bit of information on rebel mages in the Magicracy.

Perhaps they were well hidden, but even then, there should be at least rumors of them, right? But since there were none, Savine could only assume the worst.

The second option of buying it was probably the easiest. Savine didn't worry about making money. The only problem was whether the black market actually had the tool she needed.

But even still, having more money wouldn't hurt anyone.

The third option of seeking foreign help was somewhat scuffed. It was a pain in the ass to try and leave the country and even if she succeeded, it would be hard for Savine to receive the graces of a foreign country. She had no doubts that she would need a lot of time to build trust with the other party before she got her hands on the necessary tool. And even then, she would probably only receive a barely functioning one.

A sigh escaped her mouth.

"I need to make money."
