I Messed Up, I Traveled to Jade Dynasty with a System

Greyson Pierce was an ordinary man leading a life plagued by bad luck. His streak of misfortune finally caught up with him, and he met an untimely end. But death wasn’t the end for Greyson. Instead, he found himself reborn in a world that felt eerily familiar—a realm of cultivation, filled with powerful sects, mystical beasts, and ruthless cultivators. It dawned on him that he was now living inside one of the TV shows he had watched in his previous life. Equipped with only his knowledge of the show and a mysterious system that grants him quests and rewards, Greyson must navigate this perilous world. While the system provides aid, it is not infallible, and Greyson must rely on his wits, cunning, and a touch of luck to survive. In a land where only the strong survive, can the unluckiest man carve out his own destiny and rise to the top, or will his bad luck prove to be his undoing? Note: I do not own any elements of this story except for the main character. English is not my first language, and updates will be posted twice a week. I'm writing this for my own satisfaction, so please don't read if it’s not to your taste.

Chapter 2: Azure cloud sect (1)

The next day, Greyson found himself walking alongside two young boys, Zhang Xiaofan and Lin Jingyu. The names sent a chill down his spine as he realized Xiao Fan was none other than the protagonist of the Jade Dynasty. Greyson had seen the series, and now, being in this world, he knew better than anyone that there was no such thing as a peaceful life here.

When he first laid eyes on Xiao Fan, he felt an overwhelming urge to just curl up and die. This world was brutal, filled with ruthless cultivators, deadly beasts, and no shortage of life-threatening challenges. But as he checked his system and realized its potential, a glimmer of hope sparked within him. The system gave him the opportunity to grow stronger, and with it, the possibility of carving out a comfortable life, or at least surviving in this cutthroat world.

That brought him to his present situation. He was now following Xiao Yicai, a disciple of the Azure Cloud Sect, who had saved him. According to Xiao Yicai, he had been found unconscious in a forest, likely exhausted and vulnerable to the dangers lurking around.

Greyson was genuinely grateful to Xiao Yicai. If it weren't for him, he might have ended up as a meal for some wild animal. What surprised him even more was when Xiao Yicai told him he was suitable for cultivation and offered him the chance to follow him to the Azure Cloud Sect.

Of course, Greyson accepted without hesitation. In this world, declining such an offer would be akin to signing his own death warrant. He knew all too well how cruel the world of cultivation could be to the weak, and joining a powerful sect like Azure Cloud was his best shot at survival.

"Big Brother, what is the Azure Cloud Sect like?" Greyson asked innocently, trying to gather more information. He had seen the sect in the series but remembered only the general plot—he couldn't be expected to recall every detail.

Xiao Yicai, unfazed by the question, began to explain calmly as they walked. "The Azure Cloud Sect is divided into six peaks, each with its own unique focus and responsibilities."

"Dragon Head Peak. The central and most important peak. It's where the sect's leader resides, and major decisions are made here.

"Sunset Peak ,it's Known for its beautiful sunsets, this peak is home to many talented disciples. It's said many prominent figures came from this peak "

"Big Bamboo Peak." This peak is celebrated for its tranquility and the abundance of bamboo. Of course it's famous for its special training " said Xiao Yicaii as he thought of all the weird disciples on Big Bamboo Peak.

"Small Bamboo Peak is home to many female disciples and focuses on spiritual cultivation and refinement. It is considered one of the more serene and disciplined branches of the sect."

"Of course their strength is also great ,don't underestimate them "

"Rising Sun Peak, Known for its focus on fire-based cultivation techniques, Blazing Sun Peak is home to some of the most aggressive and formidable cultivators in the sect."

"So don't mess with those guys."

And finally "Wind Blowing Peak"

"Each peak has its own distinct characteristics and plays a crucial role in the sect's overall structure and functioning," Xiao Yicai concluded, sharing the details with Greyson and Xiaofan and Jingyu

As Greyson thanked Xiao Yicai, they approached the main hall of the sect, crossing a shimmering river bridge. The bridge was composed of ethereal energy, looking like a transparent walkway with hues of rainbow colors swirling within it. The view from the bridge was breathtaking, with the serene river flowing below and the lush landscape of the Azure Cloud Sect stretching out around them.

"Wow," Greyson muttered, unable to contain his awe. This place truly lived up to its reputation as one of the major sects in the cultivation world. It was both beautiful and intimidating, a reminder of the power and prestige that the Azure Cloud Sect commanded.

As they approached the main hall, Greyson's thoughts drifted back to the information Xiao Yicai had shared about the various peaks within the sect. Each one had its own unique focus, and he couldn't help but wonder where he would end up. The peaks were more than just physical locations; they represented different paths within the sect, each with its own culture and challenges.

Just as they neared the end of the bridge, the tranquility was shattered by a sudden disturbance. From the depths of the serene river, a majestic yet terrifying creature emerged—a Qilin, a legendary beast of immense power and grace. The sight of the Qilin was both awe-inspiring and fearsome. Its body was that of a deer, but it bore dragon-like features, including a flowing mane, sharp, gleaming horns, and scales that shimmered in a kaleidoscope of colors, mirroring the ethereal hues of the bridge beneath them.

Qilin's presence was overwhelming. It descended upon them with a roar that echoed through the air, its eyes blazing with fierce intensity. The atmosphere crackled with energy as the beast unleashed a wave of destructive force. The radiant colors of the bridge flickered and wavered under the pressure, and the once peaceful river below now surged with turbulent waves, as if responding to Qilin's fury.

Seeing this, Greyson's heart skipped a beat.

'Fuck, how could I forget about this thing?'he thought, panic rising in his chest.

Although he knew the Qilin wouldn't harm him, the sheer size and power of the creature were enough to make his legs feel like jelly. The thought of it swallowing him in one bite sent a shiver down his spine.

'Everything's going to be fine... everything's going to be fine...' Greyson silently cheered himself on, trying to muster the courage to stay calm.
