The Blind Date

Zhou Xia was so shocked by Qin Huaichuan's words that she stood rooted to the ground. She did not come to her senses for a long time. "Blind date? Are you implying that the meal we're having today is a blind date?"

Qin Huaichuan was also a little surprised. "Didn't Professor Xue tell you?"

"No, I only asked for a more reliable lawyer."

Both Qin Huaichuan and Shen Lin were stunned. They looked at each other. Qin Huaichuan added, "I think Professor Xue has misunderstood.

"Maybe." Zhou Xia was extremely embarrassed. It must have been Xue Qingyi who had randomly matched a couple here. Why were all of them so worried that she wouldn't be able to get married? It was no wonder that Qin Huaichuan had set the meeting time to be on a day off and had even arranged to meet at a restaurant. Zhou Xia was a little upset. She should have thought of this earlier. Talking to a lawyer about a lawsuit was work-related, so they should be meeting at the firm during working hours.

"You really didn't know that we're here for a blind date?" Shen Lin frowned and asked seriously.

"I swear to god, I really thought it was just a casual meeting with a lawyer." Zhou Xia was very sincere.

Shen Lin snorted nonchalantly and glanced at Zhou Xia suspiciously, but she did not say anything.

"What's with that look?" Zhou Xia finally understood why Shen Lin had been acting weird since he entered the room. "Did you think that I dressed up because I knew about the blind date with your cousin?"

"Isn't it?" Shen Lin asked.

Zhou Xia was so angry that she almost fainted. "I'm so busy with the lawsuit every day. Do I look like I have the time to talk about marriage?"

"Why not? Didn't we find time to get married?" Shen Lin blurted.

Zhou Xia's eyes widened in disbelief. Qin Huaichuan was still here. Why did Shen Lin reveal everything? Zhou Xia quickly glanced at Qin Huaichuan from the corner of her eyes. As expected, Qin Huaichuan's face was filled with shock. "Did I hear you incorrectly? You two are married?"

Zhou Xia was speechless.

"Yes." Shen Lin's expression was a little unnatural. "Don't tell anyone in the family, especially my mother." Qin Huaichuan's eyes swept between the two of them in a daze. He nodded and didn't say anything else. He could tell from the way the two of them got along that Shen Lin hadn't caught up with the family. The procedures had to be settled first.

"Sister-in-law, ah, no, Miss Zhou." Qin Huaichuan immediately changed his tone and got down to business. You said you're looking for a lawyer. Are you going to file a lawsuit?"

Zhou Xia rolled her eyes at Shen Lin. She blamed him for telling others everything. She was still angry. However, the most important thing was not solved yet. She would not argue with him for now. She turned to look at Qin Huaichuan and said, "My ex-boyfriend stole my ID to register a company. I want to sue him, but I don't know where to start."

Qin Huaichuan was a little stunned. "Didn't your father break that man's arm? Is he still hospitalized at the First People's Hospital of Huachen?"

Zhou Xia was surprised. "How did you know?"

Qin Huaichuan glanced at Shen Lin as if he was referring to something. "Shen Lin came to me earlier and told me that one of his friends is in trouble. He asked me if I have a way to solve it. It's the situation that you mentioned earlier."

Zhou Xia turned around and looked at Shen Lin in surprise. "It's nothing. There's no need to be polite." Shen Lin did not look at her. He picked up the teapot in front of him and poured a cup of tea. To be honest, Zhou Xia was a little touched, but she didn't want to show it too obviously, so she only said in a low voice, "Thank you."

Qin Huaichuan looked at the two of them with interest and said, "I told him that I have an appointment today, but Shen Lin insisted on following me. He's trying to pester me so that I can settle this matter with you." 

"Don't worry. Since we're so familiar with each other, you can count on me."

Zhou Xia was still a little worried. "But I've already reported it to the police and the Bureau of Industry and Commerce. Nothing happened. Besides, didn't my dad beat him up first? The police are still looking for my dad to investigate the situation."

"Don't worry. I'll definitely help you solve it."

Zhou Xia looked at Qin Huaichuan in disbelief. Shen Lin suddenly said, "If he says he can do it, then he definitely can. Don't worry too much."

He was right. After all, Qin Huachuan was the top lawyer in Huabei City. If even he couldn't do anything, then it would be a waste to look for anyone else. But why did it sound so unpleasant when Shen Lin said it? Zhou Xia was too lazy to argue with him anymore.

The three of them had a simple meal together. During the meal, Qin Huaichuan asked Zhou Xia if she had any evidence that Chen Xie had stolen her documents. Zhou Xia had already prepared all these. She took out a folder from her canvas bag and handed it to Qin Huaichuan. "There is evidence. It's all here." She had even prepared Chen Xie's injury report.
