Falling Out

When Zhou Xia saw the two people in front of the elevator, she was stunned. She wasn't familiar with the woman, but the man…was her customer.

The man also recognized her at first glance. "Hey, Zhou—"

"We don't know each other!" Zhou Xia interrupted the man in a panic. She walked around the two of them and fled in a hurry. The couple's eyes were filled with curiosity and surprise. Their sights were trained on Zhou Xia.

"Do you know each other?" The woman looked up at the man.

The man lifted his chin and pointed at the person in the elevator. "You can ask Shen Lin yourself."

At that moment, Zhou Xia was extremely embarrassed. Both of them had clearly seen her snatch the condom from Shen Lin's hands. However, when she was running away, she heard the conversation between the man and the woman. The man even called Shen Lin's name in a familiar and accurate way.

Zhou Xia felt that she should completely disappear from this world. She did not want to accept the fact that the man who had recognized her was the man in the photo that Shen Lin had threatened her with. Shen Lin had told him that he knew the man in the photo.

In just one day, Zhou Xia felt that she had lost all her face in this life. In the future, she would lose all her dignity and face in front of Shen Lin.

Initially, she thought that since Shen Lin was back to work, he did not seem to want to hold a grudge against her about the past. If that were the case, she would keep in touch with Shen Lin as usual. She would be like an old classmate or an old friend whom Shen Lin had not seen for a long time. 

Now, it seemed that Zhou Xia was really childish and laughable. She and Shen Lin had an unpleasant debt of love. They hadn't broken up peacefully. She had dumped him first.

Who would be able to let go of their old grudges and become friends with their ex-girlfriend after such a dramatic breakup? There was no one! It was already good enough that they were not enemies even though Shen Lin had said those words to humiliate her!

At that moment, there was only one thought in Zhou Xia's mind. She must divorce Shen Lin as soon as possible! She never wanted to see him again! In the future, the two of them would cross the bridge and not contact each other when they passed by!

In front of the elevator, Shen Lin pressed the button to open the door. "Why aren't you coming up?"

Song Yuyang and Qiao Ran looked at each other tacitly and did not enter the elevator.

"That girl who ran out just now… Aren't you going to chase after her?"

"I won't."

Qiao Ran looked up at Song Yuyang. Her eyes were full of curiosity and confusion. She wanted to ask about it. Song Yuyang put an arm around Qiao Ran's shoulder and pushed her into the elevator. "Don't be too curious. You might get killed."

"Do you also know that girl? I think you wanted to say hello to her." Qiao Ran was obviously a little unhappy. 

Song Yuyang coughed awkwardly. He glanced at Shen Lin from the corner of his eyes. "No, you must have heard wrong." 

Qiao Ran looked at Song Yuyang suspiciously. "Stop lying to me. I couldn't have heard it incorrectly."

The elevator stopped on the fifth floor. Song Yuyang put his arm around Qiao Ran's waist and half-pulled her into the house. He quickly took out his keys and opened the door in one go.

Before she entered the house, Qiao Ran turned around and greeted Shen Lin. "Goodbye, Doctor Shen."

Shen Lin nodded. "Goodbye, Doctor Qiao." 

Shen Lin turned around and pressed the down button after he was certain that they had left the elevator. 

But the elevator had gone up to the twelfth floor. Shen Lin immediately ran down the stairs next to the elevator.

He rushed out of the unit and ran along the road leading out of the residential area. As soon as he reached the entrance, Shen Lin saw Zhou Xia flag down a taxi and get in without looking back. 

The taxi stopped not far away from Shen Lin. 

Zhou Xia was sitting in the back seat. Shen Lin could see her face clearly. She lowered her head and wiped the corner of her eye with a tissue. She was wiping her tears. She was crying.

Shen Lin watched the green taxi disappear on the road. He seemed to be in a good mood.

"Doctor Shen?" Shen Lin turned around.

The security guard at the security booth at the door stuck his head out of the window and looked at him. "Did you quarrel with your girlfriend? Catch up with her. She's a girl. It should be easy to coax her."

"She's not my girlfriend," Shen Lin replied coldly.

The security guard saw that Shen Lin had an unsightly expression. He didn't ask any more questions. When the two of them entered the building in the afternoon, they said that they were dating. 

It seemed that the two of them had a big argument. Otherwise, why would they not admit it so quickly?

Shen Lin turned around and entered the gate of the residential area. But, he did not go home directly. Instead, he took a detour and went to the small supermarket in the residential area. 

The owner of the supermarket was an old lady. She was an old doctor who had retired from the hospital. When she saw the person, she immediately put down the melon seeds she was cracking. "Shen, are you here to buy instant noodles again? Don't eat junk food. You're a doctor. Don't you know the harm of eating junk food?"

Shen Lin glanced at the shelf behind her. "Auntie Han, get a box of King of Lotus."

The woman who was called Auntie Han was stunned. But, she still turned around and took a pack of cigarettes from the shelf. She passed it to Shen Lin.
