Staying Alive for Her

The Alliance's mechas retreated as if trying to escape.

"Hey, you guys from the Alliance are so disgraceful," yelled the soldier from the Empire.

In the next second, they realized something was wrong.

The insectoid queen had stopped.

Inside Hill's mecha, Jira's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "Watch out, she's about to unleash a psychic attack. Run, everyone run!"

But it was too late.

Before Jira could finish her warning, the psychic wave from the level eight insectoid queen had surged forward, like a tidal wave, attacking the closest alpha who promptly bled from every orifice, dying with eyes wide open—

Jira hastily used her psychic power to shield Hill, but there was no time to help the others.

Even so, Hill stumbled momentarily, and quickly controlled his mecha to dodge.
