FLASHBACK -The countdown starts (3)

Kate had finally recruited the first person on her team. The reason she didn't tell him her name was simple. She didn't trust him. Ofcourse she wasn't also expecting him to trust her all of a sudden. Next was to get the money to pay for her and her future team's expenses. She smirked and then opened her laptop. It was already 8 PM and all the corporates were going haywire. No one could find a solution to the virus she created. She logged on as '666' and looked at the new list of jobs on the black market. And as she expected the top most paying jobs were all related to her virus. She knew that all these corporations had connections in the black market and if no one was able to solve her virus they'll come to it and offer up large sums of money. Since everybody wanted a solution, the companies and even their rivals pooled their money to find a person who would be able to solve their problem. The total amount pooling to 200 million USD. Though it wasn't a big amount for the corporate giants but for the black market it was an enormous amount. It sent the black market into a frenzy. Kate knew this would happen and therefore had made several accounts so as to transfer the amount to them. She waited for the night. She didn't want to make it look too obvious. As night hit, she accepted the offer and started her work. A series of codes appeared on her screen. Her fingers flew super fast on her laptop. After a while she stopped and pressed the 'Enter' button. Then she sent an email to the consortium of the companies stating that the problem had been resolved and she expected the money by the next morning, and in any case of failure to do so, she could always re-activate the virus. While doing so she made sure to erase all her internet footprints so that no one could stop her. She was also pretty sure that the companies would try to poach her after seeing her skills since she was the only one who was able to solve the problem and the companies always wanted a sharp headed person like her. And to get to her, they would even go to any lengths to track her down. Hence, she ensured this would not happen in her case. After shutting her laptop, she went into a deep sleep.

4 more days to go, she murmured before dozing off.
