FLASHBACK - Her decision

Kate looked at Susie, stunned. She couldn't believe Susie would say something like that. She was her best friend and Ashton was the love of her life. How could she choose between the two? If Susie had told her earlier that she loved Ashton, she would've never gotten close to him, let alone date him. But now things were different. She loved Ashton with all her heart, she couldn't leave him. Suddenly she recovered her senses, from the daze.

"So tell me Kate, what is your answer?" Said Susie, obviously annoyed at the fact that Ashton was still holding Kate's hand. Ashton didn't say anything but stared at Kate.

Kate mumbled a bit, but no one could hear her.

"Can you be loud?" Susie said

"Why does it have to be like this Susie? You are my best friend, and Ashton is the person I love. Why are you doing this? I can't choose between you and him. Please don't do this."

"Kate, I want to know your answer, not some bullshit right now. Oh and I think you should do it fast. You have slept with Ashton right? Isn't it hurting? How are you able to walk? Or is Ashton...."

"Susie...what's wrong with you.. why are you behaving this way?! I am not leaving him. I cannot and I won't" Kate shouted, while crying. Susie got a bit surprised. Kate never raised her voice at her. It was the first time she did so. This annoyed her more and the fact that Ashton immediately hugged Kate after she said it, killed her. She started laughing like a maniac.

"Hahahahahahah, nice one Kate! You shouted at me because of him!!! Nice!!! Really great! You won't leave him, but let me tell you he'll leave you very soon. Hahahahaha. He has never loved anyone. He just wanted to get into your pants. Hahahahahhaha. You'll regret for being such a bitch!! "

"SHUT UP SUSIE! DON'T BLABBER NONSENSE!! Kate don't trust her. I love you, you know right? Right?"

Ashton started shaking Kate vigorously waiting for an answer. Kate nodded slightly and then looked at Susie.

"I can't believe it turned out like this, Susie. I thought you considered me as your best friend"

"Same Kate, I thought you were my best friend as well until you stole my man!!!"

Again Susie started laughing and ran away. She looked like a person who had lost it, a person who belonged to the asylum.

After Susie left, Ashton hugged Kate and Kate started crying in his arms. He held her and let her cry until see seemed a bit better.

He then kissed her forehead and wiped her tears.

"I'm sorry Kate. You lost your best friend because of me. I am very sorry" Ashton said in an apologetic tone.

Kate stayed silent for a while.

"It's not your fault." Then she moved away from Ashton's arms and smiled faintly. She looked like an angel, descended from the heaven, who could have everything but was still lonely.

"I want to go home. I'll see you later Ash. Bye."

Ashton just watched Kate leave, till he couldn't even see her shadow. He then kneaded his forehead and let out a sigh. 'At least all this is over'

But who knew, it was the start of two months of long torture.
