SLEEPING MEIXIU

"Hi mom. Why did you call?"

Meixiu asked her mom after she picked up her call.

"I went to your office, your secretary said you left. Where are you?"

"I went home mom. I'm having some cramps."

"Are you actually planning to lose against the Wu family?", she scolds her.

"Mom, where is that coming from?"

"Why are you thinking I'm not watching your husband's interviews? He is clearly flirting with Suyin yesterday. Tell me, are you trying to betray us because you are from the Wu family?"

"Mom no. I just don't know how to keep the agreement with Chaoxiang push through."

"You are his wife now. Demand!", she just nodded.

"She wants to help our family, she wants to help you being a part of us, you are a Yang. Remember that!"

"Yes mom."

"Don't let that sister of yours ruin our plan or else, your real parents will shine like a diamond again.", she yelled before hanging the call.

"How can mom be so numb? I don't want this!", she groaned and threw herself on the bed.

"Suyin and I are both fighting for different families but Chaoxiang knows nothing about that. All he knows is I am a Wu, Wu Meixiu.", she looked at the ceiling and did nothing but to surrender in her thoughts.

"Bro, you dumb. You went to Japan to meet your ex?", Chaoming asked his younger brother Chaoxiang.

"No, I didn't know she's going to interview me. I missed her."

"You got her number?"

"I did."

"But have you told her about Meixiu?"

"No, we only have some stolen moments. I only want it to be filled with happy memories."

"Do you want to go at my place? Let's drink your exhaustion from the travel."

"I think I just want to go home bro. Besides, Ruomei wants to kill me. She watched my interview with Suyin."

"Ruomei loves Meixiu so much despite of the rumors about her. Ruomei is so dumb."

"I'll go home. I guess Meixiu's still at work now."

After travelling from the airport to his house, Chaoxiang finally arrived. He saw Meixiu's car is already parked at their garage. "She's here? Or is she still not feeling well?", he rushed to his room, only to see Meixiu's asleep.

He can tell she has gone from work. She's still wearing her lime green long sleeves off shoulder as her top and a black skirt. Her brown hair is lying flat on his bed and he can smell the scent of her sweet perfume. "Why is she sleeping inside my room? She looks very tired.", he is now sounding concerned.

He touched her forehead to check if she's still having a fever but she opened her eyes, her hazel eyes are against his.

"Who are you?", she said and after she flinched, she fell of the bed.

"Meixiu!", he saw her getting up with her hand on her waist.

"Oh Chaoxiang, you arrived."

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh I'm sorry. I was really tired. I'll leave.", she said and stood up.

"How can you not be tired when you're working all the time?", Chaoxiang thought. When she walked pass by him, he grabbed her by her wrist and handed her his money.

"What is this?", she asked.
