I finally fell asleep myself, hoping that I would not wake up to an empty bed.18

When I awoke the next morning, the rays of a sun already high in the sky were streaming in through the window. I looked over at the clock. Nine A.M. The bed was empty.

But I smelled coffee. The small coffee machine in my room did not have a timer, and I had never used it. Figuring it would make terrible coffee, I preferred to go down to the street and take my morning brew at the coffee shop around the corner. So someone must have made the coffee. Was Rabi still here?

I got out of bed to look for him, my usual morning erection bobbing between my legs. I had been dreaming about him, about us, and I had imagined that he was in the car with me for the rest of my trip, and that I was bringing him back to the States.

I found him in the bathroom staring at himself in the mirror. He was still naked. “Do you think my chest will ever get as hairy as yours?” he asked me.
