Chapter 32: New Training Routine

'This is a special facility that the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group previously used to train its new recruits. Due to its difficulty, its usage was discontinued; but for someone with your level of talent, it shouldn't be a big deal.' Blake said, looking at his son.

'Tomorrow onwards, you will be training your body here in the morning, for one month. At the end of that month, you should be able to clear the obstacle course without any hindrances or injuries.'

Hearing this, Eric accepted the challenge and asked his father if he could check the place out a bit. To this, Blake agreed and said that he would be in his office if Eric needed him for anything.

As Blake left the building and closed the door behind him, Eric started examining his surroundings. Since he wanted to make an initial measurement of his strength, he decided to test himself with respect to the two training areas. He first went to the side where the weights were kept.

Firstly, there were pairs of dumbbells weighing 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kilograms on shelf like structures in the wall. Next to that, there was a bench with a barbell and weights of 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 kilograms which could be attached to it.

Eric started with the dumbbells and was able to easily lift and curl the 10 kilogram weights. He also didn't face many problems with the 15 kilogram ones except for the fact that they felt slightly heavier. However, the 20 kilogram dumbbells were still quite hard for him. He made a note in his mind that his current limit for dumbbells was 15 kilograms.

He made haste and moved on to bench pressing. His body weight was around 40 to 45 kilograms and he was about 5 feet tall. Eric was quite pleased that for an eleven year old, his body was in pretty good shape. However, since this was a world of cultivation, applying standards from Earth wouldn't do him any good.

He was striving for reaching the peak of the world and in order to do that, he had to surpass all predetermined standards.

Eric started bench pressing initially with the 60 kilogram weights attached to the bell. He was able to do this without much stress on his body, but that was it. The 70 kilogram weights were pretty difficult for him at the moment and he decided to stop.

Having this level of strength on Earth at such a young age was almost impossible, but since Eric had become a Body Cultivator, such logic didn't apply to him.

He now knew what he had to start with from the next day onwards.

Once he was done with examining himself, Eric moved on to the other side where there were punching bags and humanoid dummies.

This area was dedicated to practicing battle techniques and seeing how powerful they were.

In this particular arrangement, the first item was a jute sack filled with sand, which was identical to all the other sacks in the obstacle course. It was about a meter and a half tall and roughly half of that in width.

Eric touched the sack and found out that it was pretty tight, as it was filled to its maximum capacity with sand. Noticing this, Eric decided to punch it and see how much he could impact it with his current level of strength.

He readied his right arm and punched the first firmly it with an average amount of strength which he could consecutively use without tiring his body and looked at the aftermath. There was a fist shaped impression about a couple inches deep where his punch landed.

Eric looked at the sack calmly; the results were what he had expected. He had decent strength for his age and cultivation level, but he was still untrained and therefore, weak.

Once he had analyzed his initial strength, he looked at the other items.

Right after the sack, there was a humanoid puppet the size and shape of an average adult male. However, the material this dummy was made of was able to change shape like sand, but was way thicker in consistency and had hardness similar to wood.

Eric didn't try to attack this puppet, as he knew that he wouldn't be able to dent it much and moved on to the next specimen.

The third in line was a large golem like structure made of rock. It was about three meters tall and was something Eric couldn't even put a scratch on in his current state. The large rock golem was the last structure in the sequence and once Eric had analyzed it, he was done here and decided to stop analyzing all this equipment for the day.

He was going to start training and trying out the obstacle course the next day onwards. Since his father told him to complete it within a month, Eric was pretty sure that he wouldn't be able to make much progress at the moment and therefore decided to stop for the day after only analyzing the training equipment.

Eric walked up to the door and used his qi to sense if there was anyone near him or not. After a couple seconds of sensing his vicinity, Eric was sure that he was alone. The chance of someone else being there was miniscule, but that didn't stop Eric from checking his surroundings just in case.

Since Eric was sure that he was alone, he calmly sat down on the floor in a meditative position and took out the Qi Gathering Herbs from his inventory. Previously, Eric wasn't able to cultivate at maximum efficiency in his father's office because he couldn't use the Qi Gathering Herbs in front of others.

Now, however, he could use the herbs and cultivate faster without any worries. If Blake asked him why he took so much time to come back, Eric could just say that he was cultivating there as it was an empty and peaceful environment, without mentioning the part about the herbs.

Without wasting much time, Eric got to quietly cultivating his Soul and Body with the herbs for about a couple hours each.

By the time he was finished and ready to head out, it was almost evening and it would soon be time for his father to head back home.

Eric walked away from the Training Room and quickly made his way to Blake's office. He didn't want to attract much attention and risk getting into unnecessary trouble. Once he was in front of the main building, he quickly made his way up the stairs and got to his dad's office, where he talked to him for a bit.

After asking his son some basic questions like why it took him so long to come back and what he thought of the training room, Blake was finally ready to leave his workplace and the two of them decided to head back home.

Sorry I was on a hiatus cuz of personal issues. Today onwards there will be daily updates from Monday to Friday and two chapters a day on Saturday and Sunday.
