Breaking News

"Extra, extra, read all there is to know about last night's murder!" yelled the boy. Another girl.... dead. The boy had the morning news with him, and every paper was nearly gone.

A week had gone by, and all 7 girls in the popular group, were dead: Rachel Goodman, Pacifica Fishing, Amelia Brinch, Fiona Clod, Wendy Corduroy, Catherine Dogens, and Samantha Zigens, all dead. Each death a day after the other one and each death was different from the others. No one knew what happened. We walked passed the boy and up the stairs to go into the school.

"It's so sad, I mean, I hated them and everything, but I didn't want them to die. Seriously, especially when they're young and had their whole lives ahead of them," said Andrew, reading the paper.

"I know right. I hope they catch the killer soon though, so no one else gets killed," Shyla hugged herself as she spoke.

Amanda had said nothing, and smiled. She looked to me, her smile breaking as she sadly laughed. Tears were rolling down her face as she laughed.

"Dude, what's wrong?" Shyla stepped over to Amanda's side to rub her back.

"N-nothing, I-I'm fine, I just... I don't want to lose you guys like those girls lost their lives," stuttered Amanda.

"Hey, relax, everything is going to be fine," I said.

"Are you sure you're ok, Dixey? Have you've been getting any sleep? You look like a vampire, and not the hot kind," Shyla said with a worried look.

I didn't mind that everyone worried about me, but I hated all the attention that was on me.

They're right, you know. You look horrible. You really need to get some sleep.

The voice in my head was telling me.

It's fine.

Dixey, I swear to God!

"Ha!" I say out loud.

Everyone looked at me like a new circus act. I realized that I was in 1st hour, so I probably didn't answer Shyla's question. I looked at the clock to see that class was half way over. The teacher looked at me, waiting for an answer. With the old 8th grade version of me, I would have been scared to death that I didn't know the answer. But now I felt nothing.

"What's so funny about the reasonings to war?!" Mrs. Tome, my Social Studies teacher scolded.

"Nothing," I said reluctantly. I look at my classmates to see them whispering to one another.

"She's so dumb," I had heard one say.

Can't we knock him out, already! We hate him so why not?

I do that, and everyone would know somethings wrong. You don't think things through do you?

No.

"Dixey!" yelled my 2nd hour teacher Mrs. Yelp. Mrs. Yelp was nice, for being a Language Arts teacher.

The class laughed. As the laughing continued I looked at the only friend I had in that class, Shyla. She wasn't laughing. I smiled at her and she smiled at me. It's been awhile since I seen her smile, ever since the murders.

Shyla's POV

Mrs. Yelp had asked Dixey to read the last paragraph of our book. She seemed to be lost in thought because she snapped her head up and looked around like she didn't know where she was. Everyone laughed, no one has laughed at all since the deaths of our classmates. It sounded nice, but not nice that they were laughing at my friend.

Dixey looked at me and smiled, and I smiled back. She didn't look right though, her smile showed it. It was a smile that made me uncomfortable, but I was just glad she was looking at me. Dixey had been distant for the last week. So to see her smile and notice me, was a big triumph.

"Ok, so now that we have finished the book how did it make you feel?" asked Mrs. Yelp.

No one answered, everyone was still thinking about last night's murder, and I think Mrs. Yelp noticed that.

"Listen everyone, I know this week has been rough for all of us. But we half to move on. It's what the girls would have wanted. Here, let's take a minute to wright down what we think of what's been happening ok," Mrs. Yelp said.

We all grab a piece of paper and start to wright. I always love to wright, it's one of my favorite pass times. I wright a lot at home and even stories that I send out to the school. As I look to see how Dixey was doing, I notice that she isn't writing anything. She had a smile on her face to, and I could tell she was thinking of something. I shrugged it off, and wrote what I felt. Then the bell rang for the end of class.

Time skip to lunch

Amanda's POV

Everyone sat by their friends and talked about what's been happening with the news paper in their hands. I looked for my friends, and I didn't see Dixey. Andrew and Shyla were looking around to and waved me over once they saw me.

"Where's Dixey?" they said in unison.

"I was going to ask you the same thi-. There she is!" I say, pointing at Dixey sitting alone. She had seemed to be talking and laughing to herself.

She had said something to us about a voice in her head, but this was straight up creepy. But I couldn't be to worried though, she always talked to herself. She didn't have lunch again either, she hadn't been eating a lot but it wasn't my place to tell her to eat.

We all look at each other as if someone was going to tell us to go to her or not. Dixey looked after us always. She protected us and lead us. Finally, without any of us saying anything we got up to sit by our friend.

Dixey's POV

I'm just saying that if you want to start an argument with me, then you better be ready for my reasoning's.

Ha! You always know how to cheer me up, Bailey!

That's why I'm here Dixey, to support you and help you!

"Hey Dixey, how's it going?" Said Amanda.

I only looked at her. I didn't what to talk to them. I was having a good conversation with Bailey and they ruined it.

If you want to, all we have to do is move to another table. Then we can keep talking to each other.

I can't ditch them, no matter how much I don't want to talk to them. They're my friends for crying out loud!

Come on, just move!

No.

Move.

No.

Move!

"I said no!" I Yelled. I banged my hand on the table and everyone in the lunch room stared at me. I looked at my friends, and they moved closer to me, they weren't afraid. Shyla and Amanda huge me while Andrew rubbed my back. I curled up into a ball and tears stemmed in my eyes, but I dared not to let them fall.

Sorry

---------------------------------------------------------

I was in 4th hour now, Andrew sat in front of me and Amanda sat 2 rows across from me. I felt better now that I knew that my friends had my back. They weren't afraid of me, something that I was always questioning. But could I tell them the truth?

If you want to tell them then tell them, but stop thinking about it. You have to much to think of already and these friends of ours are just getting in the way.

I just.... take over for a while, I need some rest.

Anything for you, Dixey.

Bailey's POV

It felt great to be in control again. I moved around in my set to see if everything was working. My body made all sorts of cracking noises that sounded like someone was trying to open a bag of chips.

"You all right Dixey?" Asked Mr. Cipher, our math teacher.

"Everything is peachy, Mr. Cipher," I said happily. I gave him a smile and he backed away a little bit. HA! I scared a teacher just by smiling, who knows how bad I could scare these kids.

Andrew passed a note back to me, and I looked around to see if anyone was looking over my shoulder before I read it.

Are you sure you're ok, Dixey? It read.

Just fine Ice. I wrote back, and passed the note back to him.

That's what I liked to call Andrew, Ice. I found it cool how he knew every answer to every question. Shyla was what I liked to call a Llama, for in my eyes, she was a rare kind of person just like lamas were a rare kind of animal. Finally, Amanda was my Shooting Star, for I saw greatness in her future.

Andrew had turned around after reading the note, and have a smirk. I glared and gave a creepy smile which made him turn back around quickly. Hilarious!

Everyone that was Dixey's friend knew me as her second personality, which wasn't all that false. I like to call myself the real side of Dixey, or the dumb one as Dixey calls me. I hated that nickname, but I get back at her by complimenting her on everything she does right. She hates when anyone does that to her.

Soon 4th hour ended and I learned nothing like usual and was going to 5th hour Science. Dixey always talk to Ice right at the corner of the hallway before we go to class, so that's where I was heading, when something caught my eye.

Andrew's POV

I gathered my things and went out the door to meet up with Bailey. Normally it was me and Dixey talking there, but I guess something was really bothering Dixey for her to let Bailey take over in the middle of school. When I was close to our spot, I notice something there. Bailey was there with Amanda who was curled in a ball with tears rolling down her bruised face. That's when I saw Bailey wasn't alone.

Before I could see who was with her, people began to circle her. I had a gut wrenching feeling that something was wrong as I ran over to Amanda. Shyla beat me to her, but she was having trouble calming Amanda down.

"Are you hurt? What's going on? Who's with Bailey?" I said, waiting for an answer right then and there. I had no idea what was going on but all I heard were screams and crying.

"She's fi-," Shyla began to say.

"Wait that's Bailey in there?!?!" said Amanda. She began to shake but stopped crying at least.

"Yeah, but first, calm down and tell me what's going on," I said.

Bailey ran passed us now and ran out the door to the parking lot. We all knew Dixey was back in control, since Bailey never cries. We ran after Dixey, and I hoped that I would get some answers.

Bailey's POV

"It was you wasn't it, you killed them didn't you?!" yelled Gideon, one of the dead girls boyfriends.

He was yelling at Amanda who was on the floor bruised. Gideon picked Amanda up and threw her against the wall. I ran up to her and that's when something hard hit my head. I looked to see what hit me, and it was Gideons binder. I turn, ever so slowly, and looked at him.

"Step away from the murderer Dixey, she's not the friend you think she is," said Gideon.

"You're wrong, Gideon. I'm not the person you think I am," I said. I smiled at him, that made him step back into the wall.

I stood up and walked over to Gideon. My hands were in fists with knuckles out and white.

Do it

I stood there, dumbfounded. It takes a lot to get Dixey mad, so to hear her say that, was unfathomable.

With pleasure!

I took my chance and punched Gideon in the stomach. He went straight to the floor and I sat on top of him. I started throwing punches at him left and and right. Blood was coming from his nose at this point and was going onto my hands. He began to plead, saying that he was sorry for hurting Shooting Star, but I didn't by it for a second.

I pulled his head up by his hair and went to his ear.

"You ever touch her again or even speak to her, I will come for you," I whisper.

I look at Shooting Star after I got off of Gideon and notice that Ice and Llama were there, then everything went black.

Dixey's POV

I took control again and I ran outside before anyone could grab me. I heard my friends calling to me, but I didn't want to look back. I snapped and now I'm in for it.

Why didn't you stop yourself from doing something I would regret?

Because I wanted to punch him as much as you did. He's been bullying us and are friends for far too long and it was time for him to pay. If you want to, I can take over when you get your punishment, but I'm not saying sorry to that son of a-

Bailey!

Sorry

You would really do that for me, though? Take the blame?

Of course. I want to take credit for my work.

You never want to take the credit for anything.

Well maybe I'm just in a good mood.

Maybe....

By now I think 5th hour just ended, and my friends never found me. I was relieved, and went back inside as me for now, until I receive my punishment.

I went to 6th hour, and no one sat by me. My hands were still covered in Gideon's blood, and no one asked about that. 6th hour went by fast and I went to my locker as fast as I could to get the heck out of there.

Dixey to the office please, Dixey to the office. The intercom stated.

Everyone's eyes were on me now, and they were whispering to one another.

"If you guys keep whispering you will end up just like Gideon," I stated as I slammed my locker shut. I let Bailey take over, and it was her turn to face the consequences.
