Chapter 25 The Heavy Rain

Every mother would be distracted and lose her mind if their child was in danger. I was no exception.

I stopped thinking properly the moment I slipped out of the villa. I just wanted to arrive at the Grand Garden before the time was up. Every second of delay meant that Luke was in danger.

Lightning flashed across the sky and the low rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance. I anxiously waited, but still, no car arrived after a few minutes.

I suddenly thought of using Messenger to book a taxi, but I couldn't find my phone. I didn't know if I forgot to bring it or if it fell out of my pocket when I was scaling the wall.

At that moment, a black Jeep headed my way. I rushed to the centre of the road, forcing the car to screech to a halt in front of me.

"I have something urgent to attend to. Please take me to the Grand Garden!"

As I spoke, I opened the car door and got in without waiting for the driver's response.
