Chapter 30: First Dungeon - Part 2
I didn't pay much attention to it during the game era, but seeing it with my own eyes, I'm a little surprised by how the scenery has changed...
"It has changed again all of a sudden."
"Yeah, it really feels like a dungeon, doesn't it? The previous one was strangely unnatural in comparison."
I nodded at Chloe's words and approached the wall of the dungeon, examining its texture.
"It feels completely like a wall, or rather, the texture of a cave... which means we can finally gather 'minerals' from this area."
"Yeah! What do you think about taking some?"
"No, let's refrain this time. We don't have the tools for gathering, so we can't dig."
"It's rare for you, Jin-kun, to not have the tools. You usually have everything prepared."
Well, that's true. In reality, I always make various preparations using the party's money. From the potions I usually use to the tools for maintaining equipment, I tell Chloe and prepare them. I have the Storage skill, and I have knowledge from the game, so I know where to buy everything.
But I can't immediately get these gathering tools.
"Well, there's a shop I want to buy from, but it's closed now, so I can't buy them. I intend to get the gathering tools once that shop reopens."
"Is that so? Well, we don't need them immediately, and I leave the preparations to you, Jin-kun."
Saying that, Chloe gave up on collecting minerals, and we decided to proceed further into the dungeon.
By the time we reached the eighth floor, I initially thought there would be a variety of monsters appearing.
However, as usual, only three types of monsters appeared: goblins, slimes, and orcs.
"I wonder if it's because we're strong or if this dungeon is just low-level..."
"It's probably because we're strong. Apparently, even copper-class adventurers have a hard time in this dungeon."
Actually, we were completely divided in our roles, and because we could fulfill our assigned roles better than ordinary people, the conquest progressed so quickly.
However, ordinary adventurers have only fought outside monsters until then, so they said they would start by getting used to the dungeon.
Feeling that way, we advanced deeper and deeper into the dungeon, feeling that the dungeons that other people were struggling with were easy, and finally arrived at the deepest part.
"I remember that the boss of this dungeon was supposed to be six monsters: three goblins, two goblin mages, and one goblin leader."
"There are surprisingly many of them."
"Yeah, there are many in number, but their abilities are not much different from the dungeon monsters, so I think we'll have an easy victory as long as we pay attention to their numbers."
"Understood, Jin-kun."
With that reply, Chloe took out her weapon, and I also took out my weapon so that I could engage in combat immediately, and we entered the boss room.
"Gigi!"
When we entered the room, the goblins standing at the back of the room turned their gaze towards us and simultaneously shouted.
The goblin in the vanguard raised its weapon and ran towards us.
As the goblin approached, I defeated it with magic, and I also cast magic towards the mage who was trying to use magic further inside.
The goblin leader, whose companions were defeated in just a few seconds, looked around, trembling and gathering magical power, and its body grew larger.
"Gee!"
"It seems like it has entered a state of [Rage]."
"[Rage]—A technique mainly used by monsters to forget reason and boost their power.
The goblin in that state appeared in front of me in an instant, raised the club it was holding high, and swung it down at me.
"You're stupid. Approaching an opponent who can use magic at such close range like an idiot."
I said that to mock the goblin and cast a fire attribute magic towards its head, burning its face.
"Gee, gee!"
"J-Jin-kun! Are you okay!?"
"I'm fine. I didn't take any damage. But more importantly, Chloe, you can finish it off as planned."
"Okay, got it!"
When Chloe was told that she could deliver the finishing blow, she approached the goblin, which was suffering from its burned face, and cast magic to kill it.
