A Fight?
Dan exited the library with the encyclopedia in his arms and walked through the hallway, towards his classroom.
Three students were walking towards Dan, two boys and one girl. And he noticed that the girl was the one he had bumped into this morning.
"Don't tell me she brought her boyfriend to beat me up?" Dan thought. It wasn't that big of a deal. He had just bumped into her. That was all.
"Yeah. That's him."The girl with two pig tails pointed at Dan. Dan's eyes widened and the book in his hands nearly fell to the ground."This bitch really got her boyfriend to beat me up."
The two boys approached Dan, cracking their knuckles while Dan tried to think of ideas to get out of this situation. He didn't want to fight some highschool boys.
"Wait. What did I do?" Dan shouted at the boys approaching him.
The boy at the front who was probably around Ian's age but at least 5'9" in height said," Well, you laid your hands on a young lady, you filthy man. Get ready to face the consequences."
Dan nearly laughed out loud after hearing the kid talk but held back. If he laughed here,then any chances of getting out of this situation, unharmed would be zero.
"I just bumped into her. When did I touch her?" Dan said at the kid but it didn't seem to have any effect. They had already made their mind, probably bewitched by that girl. These boys definitely had a crush on that bitch and she knew it.
Dan glanced at her and he could see the smirk on her face. This bitch was petty and probably had a bad day today. She was trying to take out her frustration on Dan.
Dan wasn't afraid of the fight but he was afraid of what would happen after the fight. If he beat up these boys, he might go to jail. If he let them beat him up, he would go to hospital. The beating wouldn't be too severe but a teenager trying to impress a girl couldn't be trusted to pull his punches.
"Lying won't get you anywhere, nerd." The boy at the front said and threw a fist at Dan.
Dan took a step back and watched the fist zoom past his face. These were just some kids who probably had never ever been in a fight and he had been worrying about them. While Dan used to be a gamer, he played virtual reality games which required real skill to fight and not some mouse clicks.
Dan shook his head and said," You can't catch me. Better go your way."
The boy was furious after seeing that his puch hadn't manage to find Dan. He turned to his companion who was a fat kid with a face that was uglier than Ben and said," Catch him."
The fat kid approached Dan and circled around him. Dan turned to that kid and backed away slowly until his back was up against the hallway wall. The fat kid lunged at him but Dan sidestepped and saw him fall. And the other kid used that chance to try and punch Dan.
Dan saw that from miles away and again dodged it by ducking his head. Dan then caught his legs and tripped him and then ran away without looking back.
"COME BACK HERE." A furious shout filled the hallway as Dan made his way back to his classroom while clutching the book of encyclopedia on his arms.
He didn't care about those kids. They were only thinking with their dicks and nothing else.
They might again approach him but he would just repeat what he did today.
He could have easily beaten them black and blue but that would have definitely landed him in trouble which Dan wanted to avoid. He was focused on becoming a metahuman and had no time to entangle himself on some high school drama.
The rest of the day was just as boring as the first half with couple of more teachers giving students so much information that Dan's head hurt. Ben's chatter was the same too except Dan managed to get away from him and walk home alone. That was a win in Dan's book.
