Kaian simply ignored what didn't pique his interest and inquired at the desk to learn how he could be an adventurer.
"Excuse me, I am here to be an adventurer. What do I need to show, so I can be one?"
The female receptionist offered Kaian a piece of paper to write on, and as he looked at it, he couldn't help but stare at how small the piece of paper was.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" he asked, deeply confused as he attempted to understand the receptionist's behavior.
"You see, you need to write your name first. And we will inspect you for a physique check and then examine your energies, whether they are mana or aura. Then, you will take a sparring match to test your ability to fight and at least bring one goblin carcass."
"I see... Then, when should I start?"

After writing his name, Kaian was guided to a different room in the guild. He faced a sphere made of crystal, and in front of it was another person who was supposed to measure his energy.
"You can inject mana or aura into it. In the crystal ball, there is a measuring feature. There will be five stages for magicians and warriors. You might already know this, but your stage in this examination won't be your adventurer rank. You will start from the lowest rank, F-rank. Maybe you can start higher if you reach a few qualifications needed, but most commonly, you will start in F-rank."
Kaian attentively listened to the explanation of the personnel, and after inspecting the surface of the crystal ball, he didn't see any problems if he put his hands on it.
He smiled and nodded, then sat down on the chair in front of the crystal ball and started injecting his energy. He started by injecting it slower than the required effort.
"Ah, just a note, that will not measure the amount you will inject, it will measure the wideness of your core for mana or body for aura, so just let the crystal ball's essence enter and measure you. It will only take a few seconds, and just stay still. Don't worry."
After listening to it, suspicion started to arise inside him. His eyes then went to carefully inspect the crystal ball.
'He said that let it examine my core and body. Does it mean that it will also discover what kind of magic circuits I have? Magic circuits are the veins, nerves, and passages of mana inside a human body. Therefore, it means that if I give permission to supervise inside my body, then my magic circuit will be discovered. As Kaian gave it a thought and thoroughly made a decision, he then firmed his position on the chair and started injecting his mana through the crystal ball. And after a few seconds, the light lit up and then went off after another couple of seconds.
The personnel's eyebrow furrowed as he looked at the result Kaian made. He then looked again at Kaian and let out a sigh with his head shaking.
"What is wrong?" Kaian asked.
"Nothing, I just underestimated you. Congratulations, you have an Orange Core. At least, you will be able to reach the Orange Core as your pinnacle. It is quite good for you. I hope you become a famous adventurer."
Kaian let out a sigh after leaving his seat. It was a success. He wouldn't be discovered as he made a cover for his core to hide that his core was already at the Blue Core, the last color and the highest of all.
As there were 5 colors of stages, starting from green, ascending to yellow, orange, red, and blue, Kaian chose orange as it was in the middle and slightly above average. The accumulated energy he had shown was just equal to a peak of Green Core and the potential he showed was just Orange Core. For him, it was enough to not show any hint of him being talented at magic.
'I should keep what Master taught me. While monsters are scary, humans are cunning, on the other hand.'
"Your sparring match will start at any moment. Please be attentive when we call your name."
The performance he made in the examination of his core was the same as in the examination of his fighting capabilities. He had to keep and maintain the identity he was creating as he had no other ideas of what nobles and other organizations could do to him. Kaian nodded and listened to the next person who was announcing another phase of the procedure he must do.

"How are you going to know if I cheated?"
"You can't do that. Only the guild can buy the carcasses of monsters, and some merchants won't even let you buy one. Furthermore, the guild doesn't care whether you cheat or not. That is your life. You must not fool yourself."
A deep and meaningful notion, it was indeed a test for adventurers. If just with the first assignment of hunting a monster of a rank that was at the lowest, what could happen to him if he cheats his rank to the guild? There was nothing to earn by cheating on his rank, as adventurers wouldn't be able to cheat on their abilities on the ground. They must fight if they are needed. They won't be able to escape death when they cheat their way into the rank.
